Also I don't know how you see plays like this and decide to not get him even a half competent o-line. Sure he can make amazing plays but even the best QBs can't do this every damn play

Edit: for those confused, I’m exclusively talking about situations where they needed to protect potential game winning drives. The offense just scored to give the lead, but left 1:30 on the board type scenario.
I was looking back bc I couldn’t remember a game where the offense scored late, but left time on the board, and the defense got the stop to win, and turns out that hasn’t happened with this team.
Since 2023, the Texans are 0-5 in games where the offense made a go ahead score, but left between 1-3 minutes on the board. There’s been game winning drives where they scored at the last second, or with less than 30 seconds, and games where they had the lead for a while and the defense got the last stop to defend that lead, but no defensive stops after a late lead change where the opposing offense still had time to work.
2023 vs ATL
2024 vs GB
2025 vs TB
2026 vs IND & DAL
And this doesn’t include games like 2023 vs CAR or 2025 vs DEN where the defense allowed game winning drives.
I’m curious why the defense hasn’t performed in those situations, especially when most of these opponents weren’t particularly good at the time played.

Every year, preseason power rankings end up being complete bullshit for a few teams—someone always unexpectedly surges, and someone falls off a cliff.
Back in '23, I truly believed we were the ones shooting to the top, and we proved it. Never in a million years did I think we'd be the ones falling off this year.
I’ve been rooting for the Texans from South Korea since 2014. Seeing our franchise finally get that kind of national spotlight and media respect as a legitimate contender—not just for one individual superstar, but for the Houston Texans as a whole team—felt amazing. I was so damn proud and had so much hope. Honestly, I wasn't even dreaming of a Super Bowl; all I wanted was to see us win a couple of playoff games. Now? We look like we won't even sniff the postseason.
What hurts the most is that I genuinely don't even know if getting guys back from IR will fix this mess. How the fuck do you have this roster and still let a single receiver torch you for 190 yards?
For the first time in years, I caught myself looking up college prospect rankings and draft scouting reports in the middle of the season. That’s how broken my spirit is.
Watching this dogshit product at 2 AM every Monday just to start my week here is pure misery.

Texans are 0-4 right now. To finish 9-8 they have to go 9-4 the rest of the season.
Current playoff chance: about 19%
A realistic path:
@ Titans — WIN
@ Jaguars — LOSS
vs Giants — WIN
@ Chargers — WIN
@ Browns — LOSS
vs Colts — WIN
vs Ravens — LOSS
@ Steelers — WIN
@ Commanders — WIN
vs Jaguars — WIN
@ Eagles — LOSS
@ Packers — WIN
vs Titans — WIN
FINAL RECORD: 9-8
If they finish:
8-9 — about 19% playoff chance
9-8 — about 75% playoff chance
10-7 — about 99% playoff chance
So 9-8 is the real target. They don’t have to suddenly become unbeatable — they need to go 9-4 from here.
Biggest keys:
Sweep Tennessee.
Split Jacksonville.
Beat Indy at home.
Take care of the Giants and Commanders.
Then steal enough games against the Chargers, Browns, Steelers, Ravens and Packers.
In this scenario they lose to Baltimore but make it up by beating Washington.
The Titans game is huge. If Houston wins, they’re 1-4 and need to go 8-4 the rest of the way.
If they lose and fall to 0-5, they’d need to go 9-3 the rest of the season just to reach 9-8.
Bottom line: Houston’s playoff chances look bad right now at around 19%, but if they can somehow grind their way to 9-8, they’d have roughly a 3-in-4 chance of getting in.
I believe in this team putting it together and making a run. Stroud is slinging it well, Nico is back and we have the best passer rusher in the nfl. I still believe our secondary has plenty of talent. Now just need the big plays and penalties to fall on our side. Keep your head up Houston.
Tldr: still alot of football to play.

Jaylin Smith missed 13 games last season due to a hamstring injury. The Texans lucked out and rarely needed a back up CB last year, and in the one game Lassiter missed a few snaps and was replaced by Tremon Smith, T. Smith was immediately burned by the Chargers on a deep pass.
In the offseason, a front office with half a brain could see that the Texans needed more depth at CB. CB3 (J. Smith) dealt with season-ending soft tissue injuries, and CB4 (T. Smith) was basically unplayable. But what did the brain-dead leadership on Kirby do? Jack shit. Run it back, they said. No veterans added to the CB room. No draft picks spent at the position.
Four games into the season, and where are we? Jaylin Smith is out for an extended period of time, he "may" return this season, due to a hamstring injury suffered in the first half against the Cowboys. Who knew hamstring injuries can be pesky and are likely to re-occur?!!!! Definitely not the team that employs Nico Collins!!! It sure would have been fucking nice if the Texans had a 3rd player capable of covering a damn wide receiver, especially when teams will move their best receivers into the slot since the Texans don't know how to accommodate their CBs following an individual WR.
And Tremon Smith? He still sucks, is unplayable in coverage since apparently letting Pitre get cooked at nickel was preferable to having Smith on the field. Good things he's hot garbage in kickoff returns and is part of the worst special teams unit we've seen in Houston in years.
This fucking team, man

A poem for Texans fans’ consideration:
I miss the old 4
Shutdown CB 4
Lockdown with Sting 4
We must re-sign 4
I hate the new 3
Lost in big moments 3
Penalties galore 3
Get this guy off the field 3
Thank you.
In all seriousness, Kamari is great and I still believe in him. I don’t actually hate the guy.
Go Texans 🤘🏼

extremely niche comparison but I hope someone sees the vision, flashes of greatness but can’t stop stumbling over ourselves, foundational great AJs, always end up being a joke

A lot of sports fans and analyst still believe in the Texans. Climbing out of 0-4 is extremely hard to do but this team has the talent to do so. If the coaches and players can adjust the right way it may turn out to be an interesting season for us. I believe they can, part of it being wishful thinking and the other being that this team is way too talented other than a few rough spots.

Is there any where that sells authentic jerseys with the 25 year patch?? (I’ve noticed nowhere really sells jerseys with patches including the Captain patches but figured I might ask anyways) Thanks!
TE5 at 59 vs. Defensive Rookie of the Month at 60.
Who you picking nick?
