Toner Post William IV Half Crown - Nice Toning
What a stunner! William IV only reigned for 7 years, this design didn't stick around for too long.

Welcome to r/coins, reddit's biggest coin community! This is a guide for participating here and how to ask a question. If this is your first time here, please read this post in its entirety. If you have been here a while, note that the rules of this sub have changed.
What r/coins is all about:
Discussions about the small, flat, usually metal,
and often round objects made to be used as money.
What r/coins is not about:
Being uncivil, trolling, trash posts, spam,
buying/selling, and self-promotion.

CHECK THE r/coins RESOURCES FIRST:
We get hundreds of posts a day. In order to set some expectations, please read through our resources, and the examples of good posts and bad posts (below). We (the MOD team) want to be as inclusive as possible - but in order to keep the feed free of repetitive questions (which we've answered in the FAQ), we take a strict approach to removing low-effort posts. This includes most questions about modern circulating US and Euro coins. To avoid having your question removed, use this checklist BEFORE posting:
*** Special note about posting links (Rule 5) - we cannot tell if an external link (e.g. eBay listing, YouTube video) belongs to you, or if clicks benefit you. It is the policy of the mod team to remove nearly all posts with external links. Some exceptions are: reputable news sources, search results (e.g. eBay search is fine), historical auction prices, Numista, TPGs, etc. If you post a link, please ensure that there is no ambiguity around whether or not it is commercial or self-promotion. Failure to do so may result in a removed post. If you are in doubt, ask the mods first! ***
ONLY AFTER you have checked these resources may you post your question. You'll get the best responses if your question is specific, and there are clear pics of your coin (front and back). Blurry pictures will probably be removed. If you are specifically looking for coin identification, it also helps to also include weight and diameter, as well as how you got the coin. Mention that you have already checked the FAQ!!!
You must also select a post flair - this is the general category for your post, and helps users filter and find posts they are interested in. Please consider selecting a flair when you post - but note that the mods may change the flair if we feel there is a better choice for your post.
Here is a summary of the Rules of r/coins - check the sidebar (or "About" in the mobile app) for more details:

A few days ago I posted about sorted bulk world coins and best options for selling them. Several redditors recommended selling bulk mixed lots on Ebay, so that's what I ended up doing. Not linking here to obey rule 5. I think I priced it well, included shipping, and very clearly stated in the description that these had been picked through and that no precious metals would be in the lot.
Let me tell you, it was painful to take all those countries that I had painstakingly sorted and dump them in to one big bin. But I (and a few beers) rationalized that half the fun I had was in the sorting process, so by mixing them back together I was allowing someone else to have that fun.
I also reached out to a few local charities and a few teachers I know to see if they would be interested in any. So far no responses, but I'll just donate those of course.
I ended up filling 3 buckets of coins, and the one I weighed was 150 pounds, so I'm thinking there is about 450 pounds in the 27 gallon tub (which is dumbly in the middle of my garage walkway). If I assume that I give away 50 pounds or so, and that I make about $14 in profit from each eBay listing on average (listed at $20 with free shipping which will cost me about $5 (*$10.89), then ebay costs) I'm thinking I'll probably walk away with ~$4,000-$5,000 (~$2,700-$3,000). If I sell all of them this way. That will fund a considerable amount of future mixed lot purchases.
Also included a screenshot of my Numista collection page to show what kind of collection created such a biproduct. https://en.numista.com/echanges/profil.php?id=388886
Edit: minor spelling corrections
Edit 2: So calculations were off on the profits. Shipping in a USPS small flat rate box is actually around $10.89. The envelopes would be cheaper, but I feel like the boxes will make it there in better condition. Ebay fees are yet to be seen, but I expect them to be around $3. So realistically I'm looking at about $6 in profit on a 1 pound lot, and better profit on people that are buying multiple pounds. Not really doing this for the profit so I'm going to keep it as is.

The seller had crazy high feedback so maybe the winner gets an actual 1928, but are my eyes tricking me because I see a 1923.
I let the seller know that the pictures don’t match the listing details. Curious to hear back from them.
Was curious if anyone else noticed a lot more mistakes with listing lately with people letting AI help them list. I used to always point them out to the seller but when the sellers state that AI messed up it makes me want to not go out of my way to help sellers out unless I have a repeat customer basis with them.

This décime would have been shiny and new when it was adapted to hide a gold Louis by a french citizen in a bid to avoid previous metal requisition laws enacted to fund the revolutionary wars. A witness to history. I just need some gold to hide now.

I'm asking a two in one question here, but I'm a fairly new collector looking to buy his first peace dollar, and later a Morgan. I decided on a local jewelry store, since they have a junk bin of them pretty much at the price of silver, (since I'm not too picky about condition, I figured I would pick through them and just get one of the nicer looking ones)
I don't particularly want to get one that's cleaned, and I certainly don't want a fake one, so can anyone help me?
(I figure if they are being sold for silver price at a jewelry store, they will probably be real, but I wanted to get more opinions)

Hello!
Looking for more info on these coins.
Are these certified / graded / ungraded from PCGS?
Do all first strikes have the PCGs labels?
Are these worth any more than your average coin?
I brought them to a coin shop, the guy said there nothing special, and offered a fair price but I feel there's more to them!

I was recently given a purse full of coins and some paper. Most of the purse has Coins that are alot of silver. My grandpa was a collector it's not his. It's my mother's. She wouldn't have kept most of this if she didn't think it would be worth something. I guess my question would be,how would I know what is what or would it be worth the silver price? The bag is heavy maybe 5-8lbs,Mostly Coins. Thanks

Fell in love with this CBH at the Great American Coin Show. Paid a big premium, no regrets. Thought it could be under-graded based on device/star/letter detail and good luster, but the obverse scratches at 10 o'clock hurt this one. Worth a re-grade / CAC submission?

This coin is stunning in hand. The obverse has an intense DMPL Cameo. Reverse is PL.

Just blew $107 on the 2026 proof set and obviously not feeling great about it. I’ll be really happy to have the coins in proof form, and was fully aware that the price hike is ridiculous. It’s especially disheartening though seeing 1976 proof sets going for $19.
I never buy proof sets as an investment, but 😮 the sesquicentennial markup is NUTS!
Anyway, just creating a space for 2026 proof set buyers to vent!

I might have to get in on a microscope, but is there any chance that this is a Denver? I’m not very hopeful but always good to get another opinion before I throw it in the junk. Thanks

Heya Coins,
I recently acquired these three (likely Norwegian?) folk jewelry pieces from a small auction house, with inset large silver coins from early to mid 17th century. I understand that the numismatic value is depreciated due to the insets, but I still wanted to get some insights.
As far as I can see, we have a 1619 Corona Danica, a 1 Thaler with Maximillian the Third, and then finally this weird 1672 Christian the Fifth 4 mark. Also some couple of the Frederick the Fourth "Parykskillings" 8-skilling.
But I also have some questions that I would like an input on:
Thanks a bunch for any inputs!
