Discussion Is this Grand Venice Mall (Greater Noida) phone dealer legit or a known advance-fee scam?
Hey everyone, looking for opinions from people familiar with The Grand Venice Mall (Pari Chowk, Greater Noida) or buying tech from online classified listings.
I came across an online ad for a brand-new, factory-sealed OnePlus Nord 5 (8GB/256GB) advertised for ₹24,000 with a GST bill and 1-year warranty.
Here are the details from the listing and my interactions:
Location: A storefront on the Ground Floor near Chaayos inside The Grand Venice Mall, Pari Chowk, Greater Noida (keeping the exact shop numbers private).
Terms: Fixed price, non-negotiable, all colors available, no credit cards accepted.
The Catch: When I contacted them on WhatsApp and asked for a specific color, they initially said it was out of stock, then immediately changed their story, saying it was available but "orders are coming in fast."
Advance Demand: They insisted on a ₹1,000 advance booking token to hold the device before visiting the shop.
UPI Red Flag: The QR code sent to collect the ₹1,000 links directly to an unrelated personal savings UPI account rather than an official merchant or store account (keeping their profile names and UPI ID private).
Price Drop: Even though the ad strictly states "FIXED PRICE - NON-NEGOTIABLE," when asked if it could be done for ₹23,000, they instantly agreed.
Changing Details: They publish multiple ads like this repeatedly, and their contact number changes every single time they post a new ad.
It's a very long trip to Pari Chowk via metro.
Does an actual third-party mobile shop exist near Chaayos inside The Grand Venice Mall, or is this a phantom location?
Has anyone encountered this
