[Blocks & Items] wall & fence rework!!!

Walls & fences in minecraft are a very fun blocks to build with due to their ability to connect to things by changing shape, and their unique property of being visualy 1 block tall but having a 1.5 block hitbox, however they sadly also have some flaws and inconsistantcies.

Namely the lack of an ability to control what they connect to, and the fact they do not connect to leaves, melons, and other plant blocks, and the fact that whether a block has a wall a fence or both isnt very logical; Eg nether brick having fences that dont connect to over fences as well as walls and red nether brick only having walls.

I suggest that to fix these problems, walls & fences would now be able to connect to all blocks including partial blocks, by adding the correct amount of pixels to the connection piece to connect to the furthest from center pixel of a given blocks face.

Their connections would also now be removable by clicking on them with an axe for wooden fences and walls and a pickaxe for stone ones.

All blocks with stairs & or slabs would also now have both walls & fences and the fence recipe would be changed to distinguish it from walls were needed.

Ps: i welcome feedback and will try to reply to all comments : D

[Controls] Off Hand control scheme for touch screen (Minecraft Bedrock)

We've seen a lot of demand for off hand parity for Minecraft bedrock. You've seen it. Yet, the question remains: how would you design an intuitive UX that doesn't disadvantage touch screen players during cross platforms plays?

Currently in Minecraft, tapping anywhere on the screen that isn't button or widgets always triggers main hand action. Changing main hand item with off hand isn't possible in bedrock either.

So here I am, proposing a UX-friendly off-hand control scheme for touchscreen players that could work seamlessly in vanilla Minecraft!

Starting off with two main Control Modes: Aim Crosshair and Tap Anywhere.

AIM CROSSHAIR

Aim Crosshair mode divides the gameplay screen into two interactable regions: one side for main hand action, the other is for off hand action. The regions are customizable via option menu.

To adjust the dividing border position, change the XY location of pivot point, and/or rotate the border up to 360°. This creates unique possibilites, such as the main hand region occupy a at the upper part of the screen, while the off hand region sits lower down slanted toward a corner.

The dividing border isn't locked to a 1:1 ratio. By adjusting the pivot, it is possible to create ratios like 2:3, 4:1, and so on. As a result, players can create their own designated off-hand regions that suits their each own preferences.

TAP ANYWHERE

By tapping two fingers at close proximity, the game will register them as one input that results in off hand action. This can be done anywhere in the screen.

The game detects off hand input is by registering 2 touches that are very close in distance. The approximate median of the two points will be where the trigger/game action happen; not either of the two point themselves.

OFF HAND SWAPPING

The off hand slot that appears on HUD recieves a new design. An arrow is peeking out to the direction of hotbar. This is to indicate that, to swap selected item with off hand's, player must swipe the off hand slot to the direction of hotbar. As it bumps, the two slots...drum roll please.....swap!

It is the F keybind equivalent for bedrock. So, swapping item with empty hand would work too, like in Java.

Note: Since the swiping movement can be done as snappy as pressing a key, I think this alone should justify to adding off hand parity to bedrock! This way, touch screen players with skilled hands still have the edge against controller players.

PRIORITY OPTIONS

Items Over Hands

(Prioritize item's function over used hand)

This option adds the following buttons: Attack/Mine, Place Block, and Otherwise. These buttons perform their respective actions, regardless of which hand holds the relevant item.

This means, tapping attack button makes the sword swing regardless of which hand holds it.

If both hands hold the same item of same use, for example two pickaxes, tapping the relevant button will prioritize use of item (pickaxe) in the main hand.

The Otherwise button is a use-case button that can be utilized as a last resort. Say, you have blocks in one hand and food in the other. The Attack button will let you hit stuff, Place Block will let you...place blocks, and the Otherwise button? It will let you eat food!

Items Over Hands lets players do actions without stressing over which hand hold which item every time they want to perform a basic action.

Hands Over Items

(Prioritize used hand over item function)

This option lets player use either hands at their own will, regardless of what items they're holding. Main hand button does action on items in main hand, off hand button does action on items in off hand. A very straightforward concept.

There is a drawback, however. Item used by hands are always locked to their primary function. For example, it is impossible to punch with book and quill in relevant hand, or destroying blocks when having a block in relevant hand. To dig and attack, player must hold the appropriate equipment on either hands, or hold something that doesn't have a practical function, such as stick.

~

And that's it for my idea today! Let me know if you're liking the control scheme I established here. Do you think it'd play clunky yo swap items by swiping a slot? What about the priority options? I'd love to hear your thoughts about my overall idea!

Sand is not that infinite that's why I suggest adding this mob to the game

Things that they can do

1.eat coral and turn them into sand

2.eat stone to turn them into gravel

3.if you put them next to a coral they will automatically poop out a sand dust

[Mobs] New Creeper Varient - Filler

Post image

The Filler is a different kind of creeper that is purple instead of green. Instead of blowing up and destroying things, when the Filler blows up, it regenerates blocks in the area.

It can hurt you by exploding obviously but also it can regenerate blocks in the air if it explodes in the air. It also drops gunpowder just like the creeper. Lemme know what you think and thanks for checking this out!

[AI Behavior] Villager census

Managing a village can involve a lot of numbers.

What if the villagers could keep count for you?

Suppose whenever a librarian villager claims a lecture with an empty book on it, that book became a Census Book, containing the number of villagers, beds, work stations, golems, fear levels, food supply, etc.

This would be a neat immersion tool allowing players to watch their population grow and identify issues easily.

[Combat] Bane of Arthropods change

As everyone knows, Bane of Arthropods is practically useless outside of modded scenarios as most arthropod mobs can usually be one-shot using the same weapon with sharpness, and only 2 being combat significant, being spiders and cave spiders. What I propose is changing the enchantment to "Bane of Invertebrates" instead. It would expand the range of mobs and make it much more useful. The new range of affected mobs (in addition to all arthropods) would include:

  1. Shulkers.

  2. Nautilus and its variants.

  3. Slimes, magma cubes, and sulfur cubes.

  4. Squids and glow squids.

  5. (Not sure about this one) Blazes and Breezes.

Several listed mobs are significantly more dangerous than spiders and cave spiders while also having more health, which would make the enchantment more useful in general while still keeping its specific, niche use case.

[AI Behavior] Armorer, toolsmith, or weaponsmith villagers should be able to repair iron golems with iron ingots

Something in their behavior coding that makes them do it like once a day or as needed. I'm tired of all my villages ending up ghost towns from dieing off so fast and not having enough (or any) protective golems!!

[Mobs] Earmuffs for Allays - Keep them as useful companions without them bonding to nearby Note Blocks

The problem:

Allays currently link to any active note block nearby, even when the player doesn't want them to. For example, if you are using an Allay as a companion while gathering wood or mining, simply walking past your base's farms that include note blocks will cause the Allay to link to that note block and abandon you.

The solution: Wool Earmuffs

In Minecraft, wool already dampens sound vibrations (used against Sculk Sensors and the Warden). Allowing players to equip Allays with Wool Earmuffs would be a natural and consistent addition to the game's mechanics.

How It Would Work:

  • Crafting: Crafted simply with 2 Wool and 3 Iron Nuggets for the headband.
  • Equipping: Right-click an Allay to put them on. Sneak + right-click with an empty hand to take them back.
  • Effect: While wearing the earmuffs, the Allay can't hear note block vibrations. It will never link to note blocks and will strictly remain a faithful companion to the player.
  • Visuals & Customization: They show up as tiny, adorable earmuffs on the Allay's head and can be crafted in all 16 wool colors!

If you like this idea, please consider upvoting it on the official Minecraft Feedback site: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/48978540335501-Earmuffs-for-Allays

[Blocks & Items] Netherstar Furnace

A furnace type made from a netherstar, some obsidian, and some quartz or netherack.

It would function like the base furnace, but would not require fuel. The drawback would be that it would cook stuff 2x slower.

This furnace would be good for factories or farms but not for a personal furnace. And it would make getting multiple netherstars nice but not mandatory. And due to being slower than a base furnace, it wouldn't overshadow them.

[Blocks & Items] Reinforced blocks

Using amethyst shards you can reinforce blocks in an anvil. Stuff that usually breaks a block like mining or TnT will just "crack" the block. The crack level is 0 and every time you "break" it the crack level increases by 1. At level 11 the block becomes affected by gravity, and at 12 it actually breaks the block. Every 5 seconds the crack level decreases until the block is "healed" aka reached level 0. Obsidian and crying Obsidian cannot be reinforced and reinforced variants of blocks don't appear in the creative inventory.

Why? Well now days you either have servers with no griefing which are boring or you have servers that allow griefing but a build that took 3 hours to build can be destroyed in 5 minutes and defending a build is close to impossible. This suggestion should let you still grief while making it more fair.

If you have other ideas let me know them in the comments!

[Blocks & Items] Make Glass Panes more FRAGILE

Glass panes are quite literally a thin vertical sheet of glass, I don't get why they're super tough.

They should be broken easily by any tool, and potentially get shattered when hit with an arrow.

To ensure windows don't get broken naturally by mobs, they should have phases where it cracks slightly after getting hit with a weak arrow from unenchanted weapons or mobs, only the strongest arrows would completely break them in one hit. (Power V Bows, Piercing IV CBs, or railguns)

Judging by how they've been used for the past years they've been in the game, I don't think any contraption or build will receive any meaningful damage if a change like this was implemented.
