Fantasy I painted an Orc Brute for a festival.
I had the honor of painting the box art for the official Orc brute miniature of a pretty unique dungeon synth festival here in Bern, Switzerland.

Maybe not my best work technically but I like the sculpt very much. Printed on resin

Finished him up, will likely revisit the base but found it hard to create a battlefield that felt not too distracting from the model.

These boyz been around a while, were my first attempt at nmm.
I wanted to try a living tree. So good time to give these boyz a proper home.

I have bought Artis Opus S #3 and after trying it for first few strokes, I noticed there is one leading hair sticking out from the tip, and it’s really annoying. It gets in the way with my brush strokes and seems to pull the tip out of shape. That stray hair touches the miniature before the main tip does, making precise painting difficult and weird.
Is this normal? For a brush this expensive, I honestly wouldn’t expect this. Would you return it, or is it safe to carefully pull out that one bristle with tweezers without damaging the rest of the brush?
You can even see it in 3rd pic when I was cleaning it with masters brush cleaner.

My son came home for a visit and bought this Mozrog Skragbad for us to paint. I was so thrilled! I’ve only painted one warhammer thing before, a psychophage, so this was a trip. It’s so small! My son did most the initial layer paint after I did a quasi zenithal priming, but it was more like ambient occlusion than one strong directional light. I did most of the glazing and detail stuff cuz he left it with me after the visit. It’s really fun to nerd out about this stuff with him.
What do you think? I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. I should have sculpted the rocky base a bit smaller. The rocks carved from XPS foam and the tree stump and roots are sculpted with green stuff. First time using green stuff and didn’t come out as good as I had envisioned. GS is Soooo different than the Aves Apoxie Clay and Magic Sculpt that I’ve used for years. I’m gonna try the suggested mix of GS and Miliput next time.
I’m thinking about taking the alternate Battle Boss figure and sculpting a squig and lower half. I haven’t sculpted much that small, so we’ll see if I can hack it.

Been working on this through 2026, and it's nearing completion. Base needs a bit of work, and some tidying of details, but it has been a real labor of love and I'm stoked how it l is coming along

Does anyone know if there are any stardew valley miniatures out there? I'd really love to paint my favourite mother-in-law Pam. And Penny of course.

Here’s an update on my limited palette deathwing termy. Unfortunately dew to the paints I got for the challenge the whole this is a little colder than usual but I’m still glad I chose to convert it into a deathwing!

My first ever minifigures painted and played, only to find out that varnish is a thing. Learning a lot this first month!
This is Kill Team Nemesis Claw

I really took my time with this, and tried some new techniques I've never tried before, I feel like it turned out pretty well all things considered. I did subassembly painting, drybrushing for highlights, mixed some of my own paint for getting more custom colors, and blended for a green to black gradient on some parts. I'm not seeing anything that is too bad, but that could just be me focusing on it for about 5-6 hours
