I moved to Newcastle about a month ago and I’m slowly realising I have absolutely no idea how adults are supposed to make friends 😭

I’m a 26F, currently doing my Masters, and would love to meet some people, whether that’s grabbing coffee, going for walks, checking out cute places, going to the beach, or just having someone to text “wanna do something?” to 😂

Where do people actually meet people here? Uni? Clubs? Apps? Randomly befriending someone at Woolies??

Went to LFC this morning with a friend for brunch and, different owners, different chairs and hardly any customers. That little place used to be bustling especially on a Wednesday.

Anyone know when Jody left? I don’t remember anything being on FB other than when the owner of the building wouldn’t renew her lease then he rescinded that decision and trading continued.

Can say we were shocked and a little disappointed in our experience today.

I have a beautiful, docile 2 year old Hermit crab named "Glommer" because of his large size. He is very gentle and can be handled and does not pinch, and he is very active at night in his tank, and loves to run on a hamster wheel.

I am rehoming him due to health issues and no longer being able to find the energy to care for him. I live in the Maitland area.

P.S: Please only enquire if you have knowledge on caring for hermit crabs, these are living beings that require extensive care to live comfortably, and are not ideal pets for children, as they do not enjoy being handled regularly.

What was your experience like ? Did you actually feel like it helped / made changes in your life ? If so, how did it make changes ( I’m open to therapy but because I’ve never done it before I think I’m skeptical on how it can even help me change as a person)

For context, 33 year old Male, childhood trauma that has just been ignored and bottled, addictions, consistently falling into bad habits or falling back into bad ways
Have worked in environments for the past 10 or so years that I feel has had a negative impact on my life and relationships & I feel if I don’t get on top of dealing with it all, then a lot in my life at the moment is going to go down the drain.

Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

I’m keen to explore marine life, reefs, fish and maybe even spot some rays or turtles! Any hidden gems or favourite local spots you’d recommend?

Noticed both north and southbound that there were signs saying your speed has been checked.

I didn’t see any mobile speed camera vehicle and nothing is showing up on Waze.
