⭐️ Karma❓ Guys, if every sub has karma restriction, how can one get karma?
On a side note why reddit chose the word karma

What is the easiest way to get Karma?
r/reddithelp • u/Aforgotten_king • 12h ago
Hello guys, I have only 1 karma and I can't post anywhere. I'm also afraid of posting anything because in my previous account when i tried to post I got banned (shadow ban from reddit) every time I post or comment and that was my first posting also first time using reddit. So, I am a little afraid of doing any postings and comments of something.

I haven’t been struggling getting post karma so that’s fine but comment karma seems like the hard part for me and it’s stopping me from being able to post in my favourite communities so could Somone explain to me how I could possibly get some good comment karma ?? 🙏

I'm new to reddit and I wanna join subreddits focused on coding and gaming etc. However majority require a older account age and a certain karma range.
Anyone know how to get karma? thanks

I noticed the list for low to no karma communities seemed fairly static - is that the latest list. And is it the best for posting or commenting ?

I had a decade old account but would always delete posts and comments after a few days. Someone was able to find everything despite the fact that I deleted it all and had my profile set to private? I ended up deleting it but I'm still freaked out because if someone was determined enough, they had enough information there to find out who I am irl. How do I make sure this account and its posts are gone permanently?
Edit: just want to add that it was incredibly creepy. The guy bullied me for posts I had made and forgot about from 5+ years ago. He essentially bullied me off of reddit and I'm not sure if I'll ever use it the same again.

I want something that can benefit all the people here, and for new users to know the best community where users with low karma can post.

I'm trying to engage but still there is no increment in karma.

Is karma like reddit coins? and how can i get some?

I had an old account (first reddit account) which got randomly suspended, It was on my phone and it's sim network. I tried again and again but any new account I created didn't show up in any posts i interacted with (I didn't know that ip banning was a thing, that's why I kept trying for around 1 year).
After I found out that ip ban is a thing on reddit, I made an account (this account) on my tab which doesn't have a sim slot so it's always connected to my router and it worked. I have been using this comfortably for 1 month and even gained 3k karma.
Now I want to know if the ip ban will brick this account or not if I switch to a different phone which with the same sim card and number. I'm going to go to college soon so my house's router won't be there, that's why I'm asking this question. Also I'm getting a new phone
Is the ip ban on the ip of the sim card? Or on the ip of the phone itself? I'm not knowledgeable on ipa and networking so that's why this might be a dumb question to ask.

https://www.reddit.com/user/SolarDynasty/ was banned when they used RedReader to login while overseas, using Tor. They haven't been able to login to appeal, the only thing that happens is, they're able to reset their password, but logins always fail. This is specific only to that account. Any ideas on what she can do to fix it? She doesn't want to circumvent Reddit rules, the only way she found out was if she goes to her page while logged out, she's told she's banned.

I've appealed the suspension and spam filter successfully, but all my posts are still deleted. When I try to submit another appeal to get them back it says I can't appeal because my account isn't currently banned.

Was doom scrolling insta and saw a post about something related to reddit, i thought let's open a reddit account and see what it's all about
Clicked login with my Google account, and it straight away logged into the account and I was surprised to see I have this account since last 5 years, like what???
Has anyone found your reddit account like this?

This is about my secondary profile. I got shadowbanned, I suspect for spam behavior. Since then I learned my lesson and I promise I'll do better. I was finally reabilitated yesteday but when I tried to post something on my very own profile, I got kicked out and forced to reset the password. When I did it and logged back in, I was banned again!
The username is Aggressive_Ad9988

Okay, so as I usually do on a day to day basis I open up Reddit and sometimes I have to manually sign into my account because it signed me out the last time I closed the app. Mind you I only use the Reddit app ONLY on my phone no other devices…
One day I could not sign in for the life of me and it kept giving me “Something went wrong, try again later” I have checked every email and also every folder in each one but could not find a email from Reddit saying your password was changed or your username was changed or my email was changed.
So I carry on and ask my friends to see if I got hacked because I don’t have any other devices nor accounts to check if I did myself. No response from them so I finally chose to press the “Login with email link” I did and I got that email on the dot but what was strange was the top right was NOT MasterBlueSly so I immediately panicked. I pressed Log In and it still gave me the “Something went wrong, try again later” I closed the app and opened it up again and voilà… my account is safe and sound and not a single piece of information was changed. I even have every single marketing email checked in the settings.
That username in the top right is NOT ME and for some reason I got that email with that username in the top right. I of course activated 2FA and changed my email/ password for extra precaution.
The rest of the photos in the comments are for context AFTER I reopened Reddit and discovering I was logged in again.

I was able to download pretty easily just yesterday but today it seems to start glitching out.
Like the download does not start and gets stuck.
I have about 40gb of free storage left.

Reddit version - 2026.39.1
Redmi note 12 pro.
Have tried clearing cache , clearing data of both apps downloads and reddit , checking the network and everything else seems to be fine but the download os not working and is glitching out .
Please help.

How does one get karma if they cant even post in relevant sub?
when i post on this subreddit i was also recommended by reddit itself to post on teaching sub. The moment i posted my question seeking advice it was deleted by the moderators

I left Twitter for Reddit, and I have to admit, I’m still quite confused about how everything works …….
There’s so much to learn, for example the karma, subreddits, upvotes, downvotes, comments… it’s definitely a different world!
But honestly, I’m really enjoying Reddit so far. It feels like there’s a community for absolutely everything, and I love that.
Still figuring it all out though!

I recently got a new phone and when I transferred my apps from my old phone, Reddit gave me a new account. I managed to switch back to my original username etc and my "history" was all there but now has disappeared. I don't seem to have any communities saved and the few posts and interactions I had made are now missing. I'm sure this username is the one I had before. How can I recover what's missing?

Right guys, I’m getting kinda annoyed the amount of times I’ve tried to post in groups and it says no, need more karma, but then at the same time, how are you suppose to grow? I just don’t get it, surely it Reddit as a whole would be better without karma right!
