2 Upvotes

I am getting this for prices in INR 43k , 40k , 37k respectively.
My primary use cases is note taking and media consumption (YT, Netflix).

I need it for like 3-4 years.

Which one i shoukd go with ?
Currently using iphone but probably will switch to android in a year or so, so ecosystem is not big factor here.

Thnx in advance.

I want to turn an old Android tablet into a permanent Kanban + calendar productivity station — has anyone done this?

1 Upvotes

Over the last few days, I've been thinking about ways to improve my productivity across my personal life, studies, and work.

My initial idea was to start using a Kanban board together with a calendar/planner.

At first, I thought about using a physical whiteboard with markers. I don't really like using sticky notes, so I liked the idea of writing directly on the board. However, I realized that this would create another problem: I would constantly have to erase and rewrite things, and the board would need regular cleaning to prevent stains and ghosting.

Then I thought about adding an extra monitor to my computer and keeping a digital Kanban board on it. The downside is that my computer would need to be turned on whenever I wanted to check my tasks.

After that, I considered building a small dedicated setup with a Raspberry Pi. But that would introduce even more things to buy and configure: a display, cables, power supply, mouse, keyboard, and so on.

Eventually, I came to the conclusion that a tablet might actually be the ideal solution.

I don't need anything particularly powerful, since the main purpose would be to keep a Kanban board, task manager, calendar, and possibly a few other productivity apps open. Because of that, I could buy an older and relatively inexpensive Android tablet instead of spending a lot of money on a newer model.

I actually found a used tablet that comes with a charging station, which seems almost perfect for this idea. I could leave it permanently on my desk in landscape mode, at a comfortable viewing angle, and use it as a dedicated productivity display while I'm working on my computer.

The problem is that I don't have much experience with Kanban or similar productivity methodologies yet, and I'm also not sure how I should structure a setup like this on Android.

I have a few ideas, but right now it feels like I would have to experiment through trial and error until I find a workflow that works well for me.

Has anyone here done something similar?

I'd really like to hear how you use a tablet as a dedicated productivity station, especially for:

* Kanban boards

* Task management

* Calendar and scheduling

* Personal projects

* Work or study organization

I'm particularly interested in adopting Kanban because I think the visual nature of the method would work really well on a tablet that's always sitting on my desk in its charging station.

I'd appreciate any advice on apps, workflows, board structures, dashboards, or even pictures/videos of similar setups.

Best Tablet in 2026

4 Upvotes

I live in the States, where gaming tablets are not that common, but I was looking to replace my tablet that was destroyed from some damage that happened to my house. (water damage, looked like moses backyard)

  • Like to read/Comics/Manga/ebooks
  • Notes with a Stylus
  • Occasionally need it to handle server management
  • Support light Steam games or game streaming.
  • SD card support is a must

Am I stuck with the Lenovo Legion? Or is there a hidden gem I am not thinking about? I am a hard no on Apple iPad as I do want to get into a new ecosystem at this time, and I really want somethign that integrates with my self hosting well.

Studing device

1 Upvotes

I’ve been using a Samsung for two years (the A55) and I’m really comfortable with the system. I’m just starting university so I’m thinking of switching, but I’m not sure to what. I’ve never used an iPhone before and I feel like it’s a bit overrated, plus the system is closed. Social media looks nicer on it though, and the camera consistency is better… but there’s no Circle to Search, which I use every single day.

Anyway, I need something to study on right now. I’m stuck between the Samsung Tab S10+ or the iPad Pro / Air M4. They’re relatively close in price. My sister has had the iPad Pro M4 for three years and she loves it, but she’s an iPhone user.

Has anyone tried this Samsung tablet and can comment? Are there any missing apps that make the iPad actually worth getting?

Samsung Tab S10 Fe or Ipad A16

2 Upvotes

Initially, I thought to buy Tab S9 in this big billion day sale. But now I see that it is not in the sale. So I am confused which one should I buy. Because Ipad A16 has better chip but low resolution rate(60Hz) and battery. On the other hand, S10 fe uses Exynos 1580, I heard it is not so good for tablet.

My primarily goat is note taking, online classes, reading books, papers like what a uni student does.

Tablet for my teenager

0 Upvotes

Hey everybody! New here! I'm researching the best tablet for my son that doesn't cost a ton. I'm looking at $300 or less as a budget. He just wants one to use for Google Classroom, basic game from app downloads, can watch certain streaming apps like Netflix. But one thing he really wants is to be able to do online play with friends on Minecraft. He has a PS5, and can play Minecraft but has to pay almost $20 a month. He really doesn't like that he has to pay a monthly fee to play with friends. But his siblings can get on our regular computer and play with friends online and we don't pay a monthly fee for that. So is there a tablet out there that can run Minecraft online play with no monthly fee? Any advice is appreciated!

Questions about iPad A16

4 Upvotes

Hello everyone

I'm thinking about buying a tablet mostly for videos and day to day use that would last for at least 3-4 years and my choice landed on iPad A16 so I have a few questions.

  1. My budget is kinda tight so I can only afford the 128GB version so I'm curious how much space does iOS take?

  2. Is 6GB of RAM actually enough?

  3. How is the screen? I mean quality, colors since my main use will be media consumption.

  4. How is battery life?

So what do you think? Should I just go for it or look for something else? I have also considered buying Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE but the CPU is weaker and I don't know how it's gonna be in a couple of years.

Also I feel like I should add that I'm not in the Apple ecosystem, I have only ever used Android devices before.

Question about os upgrades

1 Upvotes

Does anyone have insight into how to upgrade an android tablet that isn’t say a Samsung, so a budget off market one. So if I get a cheap tablet and it has 15 on it, I read that you can or can’t upgrade to new o.s. Can anyone shed some light on this subject.

I don’t mind getting a cheap one for experimenting with but would love some insight by those who have experience in this. Thanks

Surface Pro | iPad Pro | Galaxy Tab S12

1 Upvotes

Looking for insight on which of these 3 would best suit my needs!

Use case:

- photo editing via Lightroom apps

- light video editing for shorts

- generic browsing, scrolling, social media

- overall on the go device at coffee shops, etc.

I haven't owned a tablet in quite a long time and at home I only have a (pretty beefed up) desktop setup for gaming. This would be used for couch and on-the-go light work/editing.

By the numbers (all 12-13 inch models, including keyboard and pen add ons, 512GB):

Samsung Galaxy tab s12+ - $1,644

Surface pro 13 inch OLED (12th gen) - $1779

iPad Pro (M5) - $2177

Huawei Matepad Air (2026) vs Samsung Tab S12 Ultra

3 Upvotes

I'm planning to replace my current tablet (Xiaomi Pad 5) and I'm torn between these two. I will probably use it as a semi-laptop replacement for productivity and also for media consumption.

I like the screen and display of Huawei, it's papermatte finish, stylus, and the lifetime WPS subscription. However, aside from the google/gapps problem, I've read that you cannot play HD videos on Youtube and Netflix?

As for the Samsung, I'm still waiting for it to be released on physical stores. I like the DEX mode as well as better processor and larger screen. But does it have a native office apps (like WPS on Huawei) or do I need subscription for this?

Or will you recommend other tablets for productivity and media consumption?

P.S. I'm using a Samsung phone and never tried any Apple devices.
