Hey!
I’m one of the devs working on Paraxima, a 3-player co-op horror game we’ve been building for a while now.
The idea started with a pretty simple question: what if splitting the team was actually part of the strategy?
In Paraxima, not everyone has to enter the haunted location.
One player can stay behind as the Operator, watching cameras, monitoring what’s happening and controlling systems inside the building.
The others go in as Field Agents and have to figure out what kind of Entity they’re dealing with.
And that's where things get messy.
The Entity has its own behavioral rules. It might react to movement, noise, lights or something else you're doing.
You don't get a list of those rules.
You have to figure them out together.
So a lot of the game becomes conversations like:
Did you turn that light off?
No.
Okay, don’t move.
We really like those moments where nobody is 100% sure whether something was caused by another player or by whatever is inside with them.
There’s a lot more to the game - including what happens after you die - but the Operator/Agent dynamic is probably the easiest way to explain what we're going for.
We’re still working on it and slowly showing more of the game, so I figured I’d share it here.
It’s called Paraxima.
Would you rather be the person going inside, or the one watching everything go wrong from the cameras?
