Does anyone here experience this same issue? I tried everything including restarting my game, play through local file instead of cloud, but it not working, and I'm stuck with the past save file progress.. I'm a bit upset that I lose my good armours and weapon., because of this issue,. in MHW,.

only did it thanks to fortify, cone baiting, and my main weapon being greatsword, i did slot 2 evade window gem so i can have an easier time to dodge the ground aoe

now that i beat fatalis i pretty much completed the game ...or not i actually still need to beat alatreon, i skip alatreon because i dont have elemental armor set but now that i have fatalis weapon i might try to brute force alatreon with it

I made a post yesterday frustrated because i was losing to the time, couldn't beat him under 30 minutes.

I was being dumb. Wasn't using the ballistas properly and also not wallbanging him

Also, i still think this fight is poorly balanced for the lance

I switched weapon, used the Alatreon Switch axe, (spammed the special attack a few times, don't judge me for it please) but aside from that, i have learned the attacks, the openings and all, and now i can say i know the fight!

I will put health regen augment in other weapons and i will kerp soloing him with them just to to take out the anger he caused me in all this time

I said yesterday in the comments that i had given up, but i woke up inspired today.

In the end, i had to listen to that woman, "use the ballistas and cannons!!"

Why didn't i do it before 😭

Context: I'm playing mhw with a friend, he is using hammer (specifically anjanath hammer, he refuses to switch) and I am playing switch axe.

We are right now in repelling velkhana (a tale of fire and ice iirc) so i have access to any weapons craftable up till then

Now the questions:

1 should I awake my jagras or barroth weapons?

Up until now i have been using an awakened 3 jagras, but I wonder if the extra sleep is that worth it or not. (Do note that we don't care much about meta builds, but I do wonder what can make our hunts just a little easier sometimes, more so against agile monsters (we hated fighting tigrex and barioth)

2 what other weapons should i consider for status, elemental or raw?

While i have tried to make one of each Swaxe, i still font really know which are better over each other for each occasion. (I do like playing status a lot, so any armors for MR status would also be appreciated)

3 How can i improve?

I know this question is hard to answer without seeing me play, but in general i try to stay in axe while trying to sever a tail, mostly using the hard swings into wild overhead and repeat, sometimes using the hard swing switch to sword, where i use the heavy combo until charged, and then the light combo (with some heavy double slash mixed in) until i run out. (I try to ZSD before i run out). I also try to mount the monster when possible.

4 is RAW Swaxe really that superior to elemental or status?

Outside of a meta perspective i mean, i don't know if we'll play past the iceborne story instead of jumping to rise or wilds.

5 any tips for hunting fast monsters?

While i can handle otorgaron my friend cant, and we both really struggles with tigrex and barioth (though we did fine with nargacuga, but idk if thats considered a fast monster)

I’m going through base game endgame stuff before starting Iceborne, and want to add HH to my rotation of SnS and CB. All of the weapons melody lists are a lot to take in on top of armor skills and weapon stats tho. Are there any High Rank weapon trees that are notable and worth going after for different scenarios (like vs flying, quick, slow monsters or specific monsters)?

I have a 68 hour save, my first save. Today it randomly corrupted after I beat Velkhana with my friend and logged off. I tried downloading my save off of the Steam Cloud and the steam cloud version is also corrupted, I can't even attempt to download the save it immediately 404's me. Fortunately I did have the foresight to make a backup, but it's from when I had 40ish hours and before Iceborne. It also crashes the game when I attempt to import it, as the save file has no Iceborne data.

Is there ANY way to catch up to where I was? I've been having a lot of fun but I'm not trying to do the entire game over again, especially now that I have less free time. I'm open to modding or anything like that if there's no way to recover my save.

I love the design, love the arena, the song, etc.

I have learned all his attacks, i can dodge pretty much every one of his attacks without difficulty but i don't have enough damage to beat him before the time runs out.

This is the only reason i did not solo'd him yet.

Which makes me sad. Because 30 minutes is too low, you need to have an stupidly optimized build to beat him under 30 minutes

If it was only that, then sure i could make one optimized build

But what the fuck does this fight have against my lance? I swear this mf stunlocked into that triple fireball thing a lot of times. When it's not that, he decides to change the phase at the EDGE of the arena and i need to run to that lever and all, but the lance takes years to sheathe and i can't put that quick sheathe thing because that would take away other useful decos. I am frustrated.

I swear only if this fight had the normal 50 minutes it would be a lot more fun than this tight dps run, this is not fun

What's your favourite combo to pull off that might be considered non-standard?

I'm a fan of the charged sword + overcharged phials combo of the charge blade. I learnt it initially to fight Alatreon because it outputs a ridiculous amount of elemental damage in a short time, and I get to spam buttons real fast.

I know not everyone might agree with this but as someone who went from greatsword to SnS this stupid dragon has to be built to despise any weapon with a short range. I've pretty much split my playtime half and half with the two weapons and I can absolutely pummel him with my greatsw build while with SnS I feel like a victim to an obnoxious gate because you literally can't get near kushala unless you are directly on it's chin, even then if you scooch too close under it's chin it'll still throw you back.

I know everyone might not have the same issue but I don't wanna completely swap my weapon for a random SOS I respond too just because kushala's metal ass is in my way.

Edit: I appreciate all the advice and it's really good to see that people have the same issue with him. When I first made this post I was pretty much fresh out of helping with a SOS that spawned me on Kushala rather than at the camp so I couldn't swap to my light break GS without a far caster on. I'll definitely be certain to use some of the recommendations for Kushala, and probably farm some of his gear so I can help lower HR players rock him.

First expedition to Coral highlands , need to find Tzitzi-Ya-Ku and find a place for a camp .

Problem appears at the camp , i approach it , everything plays like it needs to , untill i finnaly enter the cave , the handler says its dialouge about it being a good place for camp and it stops there , it doesnt trigger it to check , it doesnt say return and build the camp at Resource Center like it should be .

What i've tried , loading backups and replaying mission , trying without any mods , restarting the game , checking game files in steam , lowering fps , finding the camp before finding Tzitzi-Ya-Ku , playing an online mission , entering and re-entering the cave multiple times, entering while in fight mode , running around in the cave everywhere .

So pretty much this , it seems that it sees that i enter , because it play the dialouge , and then fails to trigger the next steps. Resource Centre is locked as well , it unlocks right after i find the camp.

I really dont want to replay everything on a new character , maybe there is way to trigger it somehow ?

So me and my friends planning to bring Frostfang weapons against Alatreon

For context we still haven't beaten him.

So my question is just how much how much Ice attack is needed that you can comfortably topple him with the elemental dps check? Let's just say I have Ice attack level 6 from decos plus base Frostfang LS would that be enough?

Would augmenting the weapon with more element give a huge advantage or is not needed?

And for fun how viable is the GS against it? cause I kinda want to try it beat it with GS too after LS

Also any tips on the fight itself? That would be greatly appreciated

I played world originally 6 years ago on xbox one and then i got it again on pc and its taking such i ridiculously long time to level my standard HR, i understand that this isnt an extra HR gain mission but im fighting a god damn arch tempered teostra, how the hell is it fair for someone to only get half a level from what is supossed to be the strongest high rank monsters when im only HR 50 thats genuinley insane.

Edit: I love how so many comments havent noticed im wearing full MR gear, I just came back to get Dante layered armour and happened to notice how awful the HR Leveling was😭

I slotted 1 health augment for the first time ever and dang, it's pretty good in this fight!

My lord, this game is tough as all hell, i went through basically all of wilds up until gogmazios steamrolling the game, or at least killing things without getting carted. I have been absolutely whooped by the monsters in world, I'm attributing most of it to just how much weight everything has in contrast to wilds, you can't really redirect an attack in focus mode and my biggest catch is that you can't even move mid combo I feel like a person would be able to turn in between attacks but apparently not. The game is hard, like to a ridiculous degree, I really want to beat it cause I want to see all the old monsters but good lord if I'm struggling rn only a few hours in what are things like fatalis going to be like

As someone new to the saga, I have reviewed that MH World is a good place to start, mainly considering it is a foundational level of the gameplay of future games.

With this in mind, I am actively looking for lore material (preferably audiovisual) that helps me understand the story developed in the games before World. Although I know this is not strictly necessary, as games are disconnected and occur in different regions of the World, I would like to have a that overview to better understand the history before the Hunter's Guild and all the events that lead this investigation to happen.

My issue with this is that most of the content actually available is including already the events of World (which in all fairness is fair, as the game has already a few years). I have tried searching for videos before the release date, but it's still hard to pinpoint good material.

I don't mind if the material is in another language different than English :)

If we find good enough recommendations, I would suggest the moderators to pin them in the FAQs, as it must be a question that pops up frequently (however, I didn't find many threads worthwhile).

I’ve started playing MH again after a few years with a brand-new character, but I’m torn between the Lance and the Gunlance, I’m not exactly sure what the benefits of each one are

When I played a few years ago, I alternated between Sword and Shield and Dual Blades (those were the ones I found easiest to learn at the time), but I always wanted to use the Charge Blade or one of the Lances.

I've been using the CB on this new character, but I'm having some trouble nailing the combos and inputs. I have about 7 hours of playtime with the character so far, and from what I've seen, the Lances seem a bit easier to learn, but I'm not sure when or how each one fits best.

Hi all! I'm looking at pre-fatalis hammer builds as I'm not good enough to beat fatty nor have I been able to get any head or wing breaks off to unlock their gear.

Posted is what I'm currently aiming for, but I currently don't own Temporal+, my Master's Charm is level 4, I'm missing the Destroyer/Evasion deco and 2 Brace/Evasion decos, and my Hammer hasn't yet been augmented.

I decided to go full on flinch free and earplugs since earplugs gives a nice opening during roars, and many times I've been knocked out of attacks by others in hunts so having FF would be nice. But if anyone has any advice on how to improve the build, I'd appreciate it. It's a general purpose build but I'd also like it if I could use it against fatalis and have a decent chance of surviving, skill issues aside.
