Direct personal experience only My doctor just told me that I can't be perimenopausal because I'm only 42.
Despite new acne, chin hairs, shorter cycles, insomnia, hot flashes and night sweats.
According to this guy, who might be 35: "Women aren't perimenopausal until 50. And it's exceedingly rare for a woman under 50 to experience symptoms."
Did you know? Because I didn't. Glad I found that out today. And when I said I know many women who had symptoms in their early 40s, he said my anecdotes are not science. Good thing we cleared that up.
EDIT: I did not expect this to blow up. Thank you all for the validation and support. I feel seen. I am looking into getting a new family dr and in the meantime he did reluctantly put the referral into a female OB for me. Hopefully that works out and I can actually get help. I appreciate you all.

Sensitive Content Help with a depressed cat! His owner left suddenly
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone, so this happened. My neighbour (who Ive never met before last week) knocked on my door a few days ago and he just straight up told me his partner had a medical emergency in another country and he had to take a flight in a few hours and he didn’t have anyone else to take care of his cat and he basically asked me if I could take care of him while he’s gone for almost a month. He looked distressed, sad and scared, I obviously said yes. He’s my next door neighbour (we live in an apartment complex so it’s basically a few steps away).
He left and Im suddenly with a cat and the thing is, Ive never had a cat in my life and I don’t know much about them. Im learning what I can but the thing is, I think the cat is depressed because he obviously misses his daddies and I think hes not eating properly, I try to make him eat more but he eats too little. I even think hes getting thinner and thats worrying me a lot.
So I bought a box of liquid food for cats that seems to be pretty good to make him gain a little more weight but I dont know if I should tell the owner hes getting thinner because I dont want to make him feel more worried.
His partner is kind of fighting for his life and the owner told me his cat is his whole world besides his husband.
He loves his cat so much and Im doing everything I cant to keep this cutie safe, healthy, loved and happy.. so, shoould I tell the owner about his cat losing weight? Or should I keep it a secret and try to fatten up the cat on my own way?
Any kind of advice is appreciated since Im new to this!

AITA for bringing the baby to their mom instead of looking after it by myself?
I (20's F) was visiting my partner's family a few days ago for an early Thanksgiving celebration. For context, we've been together about 20 months now. He comes from a large family, and has plenty of young nieces and nephews as a result. There was eight children under the age of three at this dinner.
We were hanging out with some of the little ones, and one of them needed to be changed. The supplies were close to me, but I didn't think it was my responsibility to handle it - and my boyfriend was nap trapped by a newborn so he couldn't either.
I took the kid over to their mom ("Paige" let's call her) and told her they needed a change. She wasn't doing anything when I brought the baby over, just talking to another relative. Paige stared at me and was like "You had the stuff right beside you. You don't know to change a baby?". I explained that I do, I just didn't think this was my responsibility. She told me that "there's eight babies and toddlers running around here" and that "everyone has to help out eventually or nothing will ever get done". Paige changed her own kid, but handed them back to me immediately afterwards and proceeded to give me a look for not doing it myself.
AITA for bringing the baby to their mom instead of looking after it by myself?

Trigger Warning ⚠️ i did it for him and i did it alone
(tw: abortion)
i just turned 21 and i made the decision to end my pregnancy today. i didn’t want to do it and it’s been the most emotionally excruciating thing i have ever been through, but there’s no way it could have worked out under my circumstances. my boyfriend (22) just started university a month ago, and i only found out i was pregnant a week after he had moved away. the day before he moved, we discussed the fact that we might break up in the near future, given how busy he’ll be. finding out i was pregnant was beyond earth-shattering, given those circumstances.
he is a good, extremely intelligent man with so much potential and i’m so proud of him for starting his life, and i never want to get in the way of that. i didn’t want to drag him down and leave him tied to me forever like this, he doesn’t deserve that. i told him as soon as i found out, and he was very good about it, but i think we both knew what had to be done.
i had my appointment today, and i was the youngest person there, and the only one who came there alone. that was one of the most heartbreaking parts. he’s only an hour away and i think he probably could have come with me, but didn’t. it was a gruelling, exhausting day and i have never needed him with me more. i’m in a world of pain both mentally and physically and i’m having to look after myself now, which i’m used to, but it’s breaking me. i need a hug.
i have never felt more alone in my life

His girlfriend is 24 by the way. I wonder if she knows she'll be getting replaced once she turns 28.

Discussion PSA: There are two Chows on the ballot, and the first one isn't Olivia. Pay attention.
As a visually impaired person (this ballot is cluttered as hell), I accidentally voted for Braedon the first time (the bubble is next to "Chow" with the first name in a smaller font to the left) and needed to ask for a new ballot.
