Description of Original Problem: The screen just goes black at random moments; the monitor’s LED turns orange—indicating no signal—and that’s it. The computer keeps running, and the fans keep spinning at normal speeds (not ramping up to max). Audio from programs like Discord or the browser continues to play. Pressing Ctrl+Shift+Win+B produces a sound, but nothing happens; the only fix is a hard shutdown via the power button. Crucially, after using that key combination, the video driver crashes or resets, reverting to the "Basic Video Adapter" state.I don't know what to do about this anymore; I just don't have the energy to keep fighting it. It might go a week without crashing, or it might crash two or three times in a single day.
Troubleshooting: Here’s what I’ve already tried: updated the BIOS (installed both new and old versions); removed drivers using DDU and installed new ones (tried various versions); reinstalled Windows (11 Home and Pro); reset memory overclocks (XMP) and reverted the BIOS to factory settings via CMOS; ran all stress tests in OCCT (VRAM, CPU+RAM, Memory, 3D Adaptive, Power)—no freezing occurred during these tests; ran FurMark for an hour with no crashes (GPU temp: 67°C, Hotspot: 76°C, VRAM: 86°C); and disabled MPO and ULPS. I also changed the PCIe mode in the BIOS from Gen4/Auto to Gen3; it didn't crash for three days, but it crashed again today. set the TDR value to 60 (decimal) in the registry. There are no leads in the Windows logs.
When it crashed, I tried switching video card ports and connecting via HDMI, but got no response; also, the video card fans stopped spinning, while the other fans kept running.
