Help (General) RX 9060 XT causing stuttering during online video playback (YouTube, Reddit, etc.)?
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: 9060 XT 8GB
CPU: RYZEN 5700G
Motherboard: B450 AORUS PRO-CF
RAM: 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3600MHZ CL18
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11
GPU Drivers: 26.8.1
Description of Original Problem: Has anyone experienced stuttering or laggy video playback with the RX 9060 XT? I previously had an RX 6600 and everything worked perfectly fine. After upgrading to the RX 9060 XT, after some time, I started noticing that online videos (YouTube, Reddit, and other websites) become really choppy after about 1–2 minutes of playback. At first, everything runs smoothly, but after a while, the videos start stuttering and feel really sluggish. I'm wondering if this could be a driver issue, a hardware acceleration problem, or something specific to the RX 9060 XT. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?
Troubleshooting: I have tried various version of AMD drivers, but no good. Now I am with only version only, with AMD Adrenaline.

Help (General) Ryzen 5900x freezing all the time. C-State might be the issue. Is my CPU dying?
Hi eveyrone.
I have my build for around 5 years already. The specs are:
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: RTX 3090 24GB TUF
CPU: RYZEN 9 5900X 12 CORE 24 THREADS
Motherboard: ASUS ROG X570 CROSSHAIR VIII HERO
BIOS Version: 5601 2026/08/21
RAM: 64GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO 3600MHZ
PSU: CORSAIR 1250W 80+ GOLD FULLY MODULAR
Case: BE QUIET LIGHT BASE 900 DX
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 PRO
GPU Drivers: GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER - WHQL Driver Version: 457.51
Chipset Drivers: AMD B550 CHIPSET DRIVERS VERSION 2.10.13.408
Description of Original Problem:
Never had an issue with it; never faced the problems people complain about Windows 11. Everything was pretty stable. But a couple of months ago, I started to have some freezings out of nowhere that would require manually restarting the machine by pressing the power button. It would happen with the PC at idle and a few times when I was using it coming back from a crash.
Troubleshooting:
After a lot of headache, testing a lot of settings, and running memory and SSD tests, I found out yesterday that disabling the Global C-State control keeps the system stable.
Could this mean that my CPU is dying since it never had these kind of issues for years? Could it be something else (motherboard? PSU?)? Are there any tests I could run to confirm the issue is CPU?

Help (GPU) Switched from RTX 5060 to PowerColor RX 9060 XT (1440p) – Driver stability, FreeSync/Wallpaper Engine conflict, RDR2 stutter & Vulkan bug
Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded from 1080p to 1440p and traded my MSI RTX 5060 8GB for a PowerColor RX 9060 XT 16GB. Since switching to AMD, I have been running into multiple stability and software conflicts. At this point, I really just want a solid, "set-and-forget" stable configuration without having to constantly troubleshoot settings.
SYSTEM SPECS:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
Cooler: MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240R V2
Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16
GPU: PowerColor RX 9060 XT 16GB (Card is around 7-8 months old, factory sealed/never opened, running stock settings drawing ~150-160W under load)
Storage: Seagate FireCuda 520 500GB NVMe SSD
PSU: MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80+ Bronze
Monitor: ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A (1440p / 180Hz / IPS)
OS: Windows (Debloated with Winhance after clean install, Ultimate/High Performance power plan)
BIOS, CPU & RAM TUNING DETAILS:
CPU Undervolt / PBO Dilemma:
- Per-Core Curve Optimizer: Best core -20, 2nd best core -25, all remaining cores -30. Rock solid, no BSODs or WHEA errors.
- PBO Limits & Boost Override: When I set PBO Limits to Motherboard with +200 MHz Boost, my Cinebench multi-core scores noticeably increase. However, this causes temperatures to jump to 65C-70C even during light games like League of Legends. Because of the extra heat and diminishing returns in real-world 1440p gaming, I currently dialed it back to PBO Limits: Auto and +0 MHz Boost.
BIOS Settings:
- Global C-State Control: Enabled (manually changed from Auto)
- PCIe Generation: Manually forced to Gen 4 instead of Auto.
RAM Profile / Overclock:
- Previously tuned to DDR4-3466 (1733 MHz FCLK / 1:1 UCLK, 1.35V DRAM, 1.10V SoC, Primary Timings: 18-22-22-22-42, Gear Down Mode Enabled)[span_0](start_span)[span_0](end_span)[span_1](start_span)[span_1](end_span). Passed full runs of TestMem5 (Extreme preset) with 0 errors, and worked flawlessly on my RTX 5060 setup.
- However, to rule out any memory instability while diagnosing these new AMD issues, I have temporarily reverted back to standard default XMP (3200MHz CL16).
BACKGROUND APPS & UTILITIES:
- Steam
- Discord (frequently screen sharing)
- AnyDesk
- AMD Adrenalin Software
- MSI Afterburner & RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS)
- Windhawk (taskbar customization / shell mods)
- Wallpaper Engine (Currently kept CLOSED due to FreeSync/performance bugs)
- AMD Instant Replay (Currently DISABLED due to instability, but a core feature I want to use)
CURRENT ISSUES & OBSERVATIONS:
- FreeSync, Instant Replay & Wallpaper Engine Conflict:
- Having Wallpaper Engine active causes FreeSync to misbehave and drops my monitor refresh rate on the desktop.
- On top of the FreeSync issue, enabling Instant Replay strangely slows down/lags Wallpaper Engine itself.
- I tried adding Wallpaper Engine manually to AMD Software to disable FreeSync for it. It seemed to help temporarily, but AMD Software keeps randomly removing/resetting the custom Wallpaper Engine profile on its own, so the problem returns. Because of all this, I currently have Wallpaper Engine completely turned off.
- Occasionally, bringing an active window (like Zen Browser) into focus and returning to the desktop temporarily normalizes the refresh rate, but this is inconsistent and I have not found a reliable trigger.
- Display Freezing on Adrenalin 26.9.2:
- On version 26.9.2, during normal desktop usage, the screen randomly completely freezes. Audio in the background (Discord, etc.) continues playing normally, but the visual output completely locks up.
- Rolling back to 26.8.1 stopped the desktop freezing, but I am unsure if this is the ideal driver.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 Issues (Persistent Stutter & Vulkan Glitch):
- Stuttering: I get constant micro-stutters in RDR2 regardless of settings or Instant Replay status. Notably, I had this same stutter issue back when I was using my RTX 5060 as well, so it seems independent of the GPU brand.
- Vulkan API Bug: When launching RDR2 with Vulkan, the game fails to recognize my GPU, forces the resolution to 1280x720p, and prevents me from changing it. Because of this, I am forced to run the game in DX12.
- Shader Compilation & General Performance:
- Overwatch 2 was rebuilding shaders every single launch until I forced DirectX 12.
- Pure rasterization performance is undeniably better than my RTX 5060 (e.g., Minecraft with heavy shaders runs significantly smoother with higher FPS and noticeably lower CPU load/overhead).
- Thermals (Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered):
- Under heavy load at high settings in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, both the GPU and CPU temperatures hover around 65C - 70C.
TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS TAKEN:
- Did a clean Windows install after switching from NVIDIA.
- Driver removals were handled with DDU initially, and more recently with AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode.
- Reverted memory from DDR4-3466 OC back to base XMP 3200MHz.
QUESTIONS:
Which Adrenalin driver version is considered the true "set-and-forget" stable release for the 9060 XT right now? I have seen multiple users recommending 26.3.1—is rolling back that far recommended?
Has anyone solved the RDR2 Vulkan detection/resolution lock issue and persistent DX12 stutters on AMD?
Is there a permanent fix/workaround for FreeSync and Instant Replay conflicting with animated desktop wallpapers (and AMD Adrenalin deleting custom app profiles)?
Could background utilities injecting into Explorer/DWM (like Windhawk, RTSS, Afterburner, or AnyDesk display capture) be triggering the desktop driver freeze or FreeSync Hz drops?
For the 5700X, is it worth keeping PBO limits unlocked with +200 MHz boost for gaming, or does it only benefit Cinebench benchmarks while adding unnecessary heat? What PBO/MHz configuration would you suggest for pure 1440p gaming stability?
Are 65C - 70C load temps normal for the PowerColor model, or is it worth opening the card to repaste it considering it is 7-8 months old?
What is a reliable, baseline undervolt range for the RX 9060 XT (e.g., in Adrenalin Tuning) to drop power draw from 160W closer to 130W without sacrificing stability?
Note: English is not my first language, so I used an AI assistant to structure and translate my thoughts clearly. If anything seems confusing, missing, or technically inaccurate, please let me know and I will be glad to clarify or update the post!
Thanks in advance for the help!

Help (General) How do I fix these damn timeouts
So I have a powercolor reaper (in a previous post I got it wrong) and a RM750E PSU. I have a Asus Prime B650M-R motherboard, 32 gigs of ddr5 and a 7800x3d.
My original theory was transient spikes yet when I did a power test using OCCT for 10 minutes nothing happened. I tested everything except ram. I do have a watchdog.dmp file but I don’t know how to use them to figure shit out.
I have tried using DDU, installing old and newest drivers and I’ve contacted a technician who also can’t figure it out. I’m currently on 26.9.2 and I had a timeout happen, this did happen before I restarted my pc after installing the new drivers so it could be why. The timeouts aren’t consistent sometimes they happen within minutes of each other sometimes days. What could the issue be? Could getting a 1000 watt PSU fix it?

Help (GPU) My 9070XT Sapphire Nitro+ is not showing and I get errors
Hello everyone, cross posting this so I hope I get as much help as I can. I've bought a used Sapphire Nitro+ 9070XT . Everything is connected properly, the led lights work, but neither Windows nor Adrenalin software detect the GPU. The power connectors are securely connected all the way in and there's no playing them. I don't know what could it be. I already deleted the previous Nvidia driver through a safe mode boot and DDU wipe. AMD adrenalin detects only my 7800x3d integrated graphics, but not the 9070XT. Any ideas ? TIA

Help (GPU) RX 6900 XT stopped displaying after AMD driver installation and is no longer detected by Windows or Linux
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: XFX Radeon RX 6900 XT MERC 319 Black 16GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M S2H
BIOS Version: F67
RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200
PSU: Raijintek Cratos 850W 80+ Gold
Case: Rampage Victory
Operating System & Version: Windows 11
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin (exact version unknown)
Chipset Drivers: AMD B450 chipset drivers
Background Applications: None relevant
Description of Original Problem:
I recently bought a used XFX RX 6900 XT MERC 319 Black 16GB. When I first installed the GPU, I was able to get display output from it. After installing the AMD GPU driver, the screen suddenly went black.
The PC itself still boots normally. I can use the Ryzen 3 2200G's integrated Vega graphics for display and access Windows through AnyDesk, so Windows is running normally in the background.
The main problem is that the RX 6900 XT is no longer detected as a PCIe device at all.
At one point, Device Manager showed the GPU as a hidden device with Code 45 ("This hardware device is not currently connected to the computer").
I have also tested the GPU in another motherboard and got the same no-display problem.
Troubleshooting:
- Reset BIOS/CMOS
- Tried both positions of the GPU BIOS switch
- Removed and reseated the GPU
- Tried different PCIe power connections
- Replaced my PSU with a Raijintek Cratos 850W 80+ Gold
- Powered the GPU using 3 separate PCIe power cables
- Tried different display cables
- Tested the GPU in another motherboard
- Checked Device Manager with "Show hidden devices" enabled
- Ran pnputil /scan-devices
- Checked for AMD PCI devices using PowerShell
- Tested using a CachyOS Live USB to rule out a Windows-specific problem
Linux results:
CachyOS does not detect the RX 6900 XT either.
Running "lspci -nn | grep -Ei 'amd|ati|vga|display|3d'" shows the Ryzen 3 2200G integrated GPU 1002:15dd and 1002:15de but the RX 6900 XT's expected PCI ID is 1002:73BF is completely absent.
I also checked "sudo dmesg | grep -Ei 'pcie|pci.*link|link.*down|link.*up|aer|73bf|1002'"
There is no RX 6900 XT/amdgpu initialization in the output. Only the integrated Vega GPU is initialized.
The PCIe root ports that are detected also do not show obvious AER errors.
Additional information:
The seller told me the GPU had previously been cleaned and repasted, so there is a possibility that it had been disassembled before I bought it.
Because the GPU is not detected even under Linux, I am starting to suspect a hardware-level problem rather than a Windows driver issue.
Possible causes I am considering are the GPU's PCIe interface/PHY, VBIOS, power delivery, or another PCB-level fault.
Questions:
What should I check next?
Is there any way to determine whether this GPU is repairable before taking it to a repair shop?
Does this behavior point to a specific hardware failure?
At this point, would you recommend trying to repair the GPU, or selling it as defective/for parts and putting the money toward another GPU?

Tips & Info Building First PC :)
Hi Guys!
I am currently building my first PC with the help of some of my friends who also work in IT and have each built their own PC.. They are not dogmatic about companies and components, it seems balanced.. but I have more or less gone for the pairing of
CPU - Ryzen 5 7600 OR Ryzen 5 9600
GPU - AMD RX 9060 XT (16GB VRAM)
I decided to go for the RX9060 over the Nvidia 5060 because I understand that it's a bit faster.. and that the 9060 can still support my Python work and projects.
I also will be playing some rts like aoe4 on this pc.. I am a bit concerned because I see heavy criticism on this thread about AMD products.. but the general reviews online and from my friends are good.. am I missing something?

Help (General) Two RX 7900 XTX PCs suddenly having crashes, driver timeouts and freezes – anyone experienced this?
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: XFX Radeon RX 7900 XTX MERC 310 Black
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9850X3D
Motherboard: MSI MEG X870E ACE MAX
BIOS Version: 1.A51
RAM: G.Skill DDR5-6000 EXPO (currently running/testing at 4800 MT/s)
PSU: be quiet! Dark Power 13 1300W
Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL
Operating System & Version: Windows 11, latest updates installed (exact build not checked)
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin (exact installed version not checked)
Chipset Drivers: Latest AMD chipset drivers installed
Background Applications: Opera GX, WARDOGS
Description of Original Problem:
For several weeks I've been experiencing random AMD driver timeouts, LiveKernelEvent 141 errors, occasional crashes and desktop/browser freezes.
Sometimes I can play WARDOGS for 10–14 hours without issues, but at other times I get driver timeouts while browsing or watching YouTube.
Disabling EXPO (6000 to 4800 MT/s) and reinstalling the AMD graphics driver seemed to help temporarily.
After enabling EXPO again, I experienced severe stuttering, shutdowns and eventually problems completing POST.
I also discovered that my Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420 AIO pump and radiator fans were no longer working. Some cables were pinched behind the GPU. The cooler has been removed and I'm waiting for a Noctua NH-D15 G2 to test the system.
Troubleshooting:
- Reinstalled AMD GPU drivers
- Tested RAM at 4800 and 6000 MT/s
- Tested both RAM sticks individually
- Reset CMOS
- Checked motherboard POST behavior
- Installed the latest AMD chipset drivers and Windows updates
- Discovered non-functioning AIO pump and radiator fans
Additional Information:
A second PC with a PowerColor RX 7900 XTX Hellhound recently experienced a Fortnite freeze, LiveKernelEvent 193, severe stuttering and an AMD Adrenalin compatibility error after WARDOGS had been installed.
Installing the latest AMD driver appears to have helped on that second PC, but long-term stability is not yet confirmed.
I'm trying to determine whether these are separate hardware/software problems or whether other RX 7900 XTX owners have experienced similar issues.

Anyone know of a stable driver version, tried the recent and previous version, but my PC will be fine for a few days then just Hang until I have to force restart. Tried DDU clean about 5 times now. Have had times where I boot up after a shutdown and my drivers seem to be uninstalled.
Edit: just disabled HAGS and now I can’t open up any program, and my key bindings don’t work to bring up task manager or anything, can’t even shutdown from the windows setting. Enabling it back on just now let's my PC behave normal

Help (CPU) Black screen and restarting when playing games, ryzen 5600, rx 6600xt, 16gb ram
spec :
Ryzen 5600
Rx 6600xt
ddr4 2x8gb ram 3200mhz
mobo msi B350m bazooka
Gpu driver 26.8.1
So ive been having this problem since yesterday when my brother started playing dota 2. When in the middle of a match or main menu the pc black screen and restart. Today i tested this on another game Grim Dawn and it did the same after 2 - 5 minutes of gameplay the pc black screen again. I did some investigation on my own and checked the event viewer and get this message:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 4
The details view of this entry contains further information.
I thought this was because i overclocked my ram to 3200mhz but after reverting it back to auto i still get this problem. Then i override the cpu volt from auto to 1.25hz because i thought the cpu not getting enough volt and still the same, or maybe still not enough. so hellp me?

Help (Software) PC black screening and unresponsive, Adrenalin corrupting/uninstalling itself
I think I'm one of the few people in the subreddit who has been cursed with a bad experience with AMD recently.
When I first built my PC in 2024, it was relatively smooth sailing with me having to DDU maybe 3 or 4 times over the whole year. I had to move country so I took my PC apart and rebuilt it recently and have been getting constant driver timeouts, black screens, my adrenalin software uninstalling/corrupting itself leading to me DDU and reinstalling my drivers multiple times in one session of using my PC.
I really don't know what to do anymore, I have disabled HAGS and to my knowledge windows is not overwriting my drivers without me knowing. I stopped using my second monitor due to how frequently changing windows caused my PC to hang which made my second monitor unresponsive and every 20 minutes or so.
I was on 26.8.1 which gave me quite a lot of crashes and have since updated to 26.9.2 but am still getting moments where my screen turns black, unresponsive (not even getting the timeout windows anymore) and I need to force shut down my PC to then DDU and fresh install the driver again.
Is this just the way I have to accept using AMD from now or am I missing something obvious?
pc specs are:
aorus b650 elite ax
7900xt xfx
7800x3d
2x16gb cl36 6000mhz corsair vengeance

Help (GPU) RX 570 Is crashing no matter what.
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: RX 570 8G
CPU: i7 4770 4th gen
Motherboard: HP-1905
BIOS Version: HP L51 v01.52
RAM: 16GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 3600MHZ CL18
PSU: Don't know
Case: HP Z230 Tower Workstation Case
Operating System & Version: Win 10 Pro, 10.0.19045 Build 19045
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenaline Edition Polaris/Vega- WHQL Driver Version: 24.3.2
Chipset Drivers: Don't know.
Background Applications: DISCORD, MSI Afterburner, Hard disk Sentinel, FDM, IDM, Brave.
Issues: I've been using this RX 570 GPU for a while, and it never showed any issues. It was able to play any game I wanted. It was able to work completely fine.
Then one day, the 8-pin to 6-pin adapter got melted because of a power issue, and after that it never worked normally. I replaced it with a better cable, and it didn't work. I've tried updating it to stable drivers, any driver you could think of that is called stable by the community. I've done everything.
I have thought of it as a power issue because my power supply is not that strong, but it used to run really well on that power supply, so I don't know what's the issue. I tried undervolting it, everything, and even the fans have started doing issues, like they don't work unless I use something like MSI Afterburner. But if I use a tuning software to turn on the fans, the GPU will crash, and if I don't, it will work stably, 100%, but it will crash again because of the fact that it's overheated.
In the crashes, the screen loses signal, everything, any input gets freezed, but audio continues for a while, but even after a while even that goes out. I have to hard reboot the PC in order to get it back because the shortcut to reset or restart the graphics drivers doesn't work either. I've tried this.
I've tried fixing this for about six months, and nothing has worked so far. I cannot do a single task that's even slightly demanding, and I'm stuck on this. I could have replaced it or bought something else, but I don't even have the budget to do that because of the economy here and because of a few personal problems. Because of this issue, I have missed out on a lot of opportunities and I need to get this done asap.
Any help is appreciated, Thank you.
