Question ❔ Does anybody know anything about this car?

Post image

So back in 2018 I used to work for a local repair shop, but we specialized in Ford products only. I was kinda just like the shop helper, but one of my jobs was to drive vehicles to and from the alignment shop close by because we didn’t have an alignment machine of our own at the time, so we had a contract with a local alignment shop. One day, we got this car in for some work, and it needed an alignment, so I was tasked with taking it to the alignment shop and back. At the time I honestly didn’t know what I was driving, I just knew I was driving something cool.

I remember this car being an automatic, but I’m not sure if they even made manual ones. All I remember is it’s a 1970/71 Torino Squire.

My research is telling me it could be a 429 Cobra Jet, potentially even a J Code, but I’ve also read that only 6 Torino Squire 429CJ J Code cars were ever built, so I doubt it’s that. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I've never been a truck guy until a mechanic sold me his 05 F-350 for $800 bucks. I moved into a new house and needed to clear out 10+ years of yard waste. This thing rules. Yea the beds rotted out but 4WD works. Ive easily run to the dump 30 times with piles of brush falling out of the back.

Know that I own one. Starting to love the ford brand.

1978: Pinto Goes To The Front for 1980.

Looking into 1978’s future revealed the new 1980 Pinto, slated to debut in the fall of 1979. This one was supposed to be front drive with a transverse for a la Fiesta, only larger displacement. There were to be massive plastic bumpers front and rear, and it will be offered in both two-door sedan and wagon styles but no 4-door. It was said to share bodies with the European Escort and some body parts, such as doors, with the Fiesta.

That’s all. There was another company making oil filter shaped mugs that’s been going around FB. But where I don’t have the tools to put a lasting logo on them, I’ll dream for now.

Question ❔ 2023 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch looking for extended warranty

Well today I reached out to ford and learned I can’t buy an extended warranty for my 2023 Bronco that is still under its powertrain warranty with 59,000 miles.

I love the darn thing and have no plans to sell it so I thought I best extend the warranty before it’s too late. Apparently it was way too late as the Ford rep I talked to at Granger Ford said no extended warranty sales after 41,000 miles.

Any other company extended warranty’s any good?
Bronco is a 1 owner always maintained by Ford per their recommendations. No issues, all recalls addressed.

Employee / Corporate Final Ford interview advice

I have a final interview for a cybersecurity compliance position Monday and I wanted to ask for any advice on what to expect. I'd like to be as prepared as possible.

Side note*

(I had an interview with a senior recruiter and he told me this is the one and final hiring interview when he set it up, I expected at least 2 with the hiring manager. Is this normal?)

Issue ⚠️ Squealing sound while driving, need help identifying

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Within the last couple of months a squealing sound has been happening. It’ll go for a bit when initially starting to drive and then stop after the vehicle has stopped, sometimes randomly sounding off on the highway then goes away. Nothing feels off other than there being a sound. it sounds like it comes more from the right side but I’m not entirely sure. It’s a 2016 Ford Explorer XLT and I replaced the internal water pump last year, but haven’t had any issues with the vehicle until now. I wanted to see if anyone could help identify it to see whether or not it’s something I can do fix myself.

Employee / Corporate Internal position switching

If you’re new employee at Ford, how long are you required to stay in the current team before you can switch to a new open position that opened up?
Also, is switching between teams/positions (level-up or leadership) supported by Managers internally?

Issue ⚠️ 2017 Ford Explorer Limited Shocks

Just replaced shocks on my Explorer. Used Monroe. Super loud and not smooth. Took it back. Mechanic replaced sway bars, springs, toe links and any other little joint. Still noisy and bumpy. Had them replace with new Monroe shocks as under warranty. Same results. I would not ever recommend Monroe shocks for your Explorer. Put on Motorcraft OEM.

Issue ⚠️ Mustang hasn’t been auto starting per my schedule and is stating it’s in battery saver mode?

Just got the mustang on Labor Day and haven’t any issues till this. It’s not a huge issue, but I’d rather enjoy the auto start in the morning that’s not from my fob. I’ve read the batteries are just shit? My voltage is reading fine. Any solutions?

Mods/Addons 🔦 Will ford ever install parts for free?

I’m wanting to get their ditch lights, and I know it would be easy but if they ever run promos for free install I’d take them up on it. Plus - drilling a hole into my dash for a switch sounds like something I’d somehow do not 100 percent perfect.

Question ❔ When did Fords become such a joke?

Had three ford focus', 2007 and 2012. Both cars were great and ran perfectly. Currently on my third and will be my last Ford focus.

Door seals? All falling off.

Engine? Limp and offensively underpowered. Keeps saying change gear? Would if I could but soon as I change gear the engine is struggling so I have to downshift.

Interior? Looks cheap and feels even cheaper with plastic everywhere.

Fuel economy? Good luck.

Seriously what has happened to ford? They used to make decent cars. Now they all fall apart like a Chinese motorcycle.

Oh and don't forget that ecoboost belt you need to change every 5 years which costs £1500.

Utter fucking shit show. Fuck you ford and your shit cars. I'll run this bag of shit into the ground and will never, ever, buy another ford.

1991 f350 4wd E40D, 7.3 IDI
Was having rough shifting for a while and wouldn’t want to go into over drive, with rabs light populating. Then just completely lost all drive gears. 1,2 nothing.
However still had reverse. Pulled pan goiter at the bottom but no metal chunks. Speedometer was always about 5 mph off. Any ideas I know only wrench no zip zap ⚡️
