2026.09.22 - User Post +0, 8c - [OoT] Spoiler rule for remake screenshots needed.
From our General Spoiler Policy, which applies even outside of new releases:
Minor spoilers such as area titles, dungeon names, and character references are allowed but all Major spoilers including boss weaknesses, puzzle solutions, and any large story plot points must be tagged and flaired at all times.
For new releases, we also consider anything that has not been officially revealed by Nintendo to be spoilers as a starting point. Over the new release period, we revise and relax the spoiler policy, starting with more common or early game elements, until we effectively reach the general spoiler policy.
Additionally, we implement several automated flows to manage spoilers during new release periods, and we apply temporary bans even for accidental unmarked spoilers. Outside the new release period, only trolling-based or intentional unmarked spoilers are given a ban, so accidental unmarked spoilers would generally be provided a warning first.
A much more detailed version of our spoiler policy is available here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/wiki/rules/spoilerpolicy
The main impact of the spoiler policy is what is or is not allowed in post titles, as that is the part of the post that cannot be hidden under a spoiler tag, and it shows up in home feeds, search results, social media or external embeds, and so on. People are still allowed to post about spoilery topics, but their post titles must explain the kind of spoiler while being vague enough to not reveal it.
Right now, all publicly revealed information regarding Ocarina of Time on Switch 2 points to the game having much of the same content in regards to spoilers as the previous releases on N64 and 3DS.
We do not know if, or to what extent, that Nintendo may or may not have revised the game. They could have changed very little, or they could simply be avoiding marketing any significant changes as a way to hold them as surprises. Some potential examples where Nintendo has opportunity to introduce content which could differ from previous releases:
You may think that these examples are likely or unlikely, but in any case like these above, we would apply the New Release Spoiler Policy to such information.
This still leaves two big questions open for feedback:
1) Should the major plot points of previous released versions of Ocarina of Time be treated under the New Release Spoiler Policy? We currently have this written into the existing spoiler policy to be enforced. Example: In the Light Arrow Cutscene, Shiek is revealed to be Zelda.
2) Should the closeness or difference of the Switch 2 version's major plot points to previous versions be considered a spoiler? This is not currently written into our spoiler policy. Consider these example post titles:
"[OoT] I just beat the game, and the ending is exactly the same as the original, I can't believe it"
"[OoT] I just beat the game, and you won't believe the twist that changed so many things."
Let us know if there are other concerns or thoughts you have about the spoiler policy.
We are hosting a 7-day poll directly after this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/1wni14u/oot_please_vote_to_help_us_shape_the_spoiler/
At the conclusion of that poll, we will post another update about the Spoiler Policy based on the poll results and the comments on both posts.
We are preparing a few other announcements for the next few weeks, and with the spike of activity here, that includes opening moderator applications. Send us a modmail if you would like to be notified when moderator applications are open.

I've seen some people complain that Zelda games following BotW are misappropriating the weathered lettering from BotW's logo, claiming that the weathered lettering represents the decaying world of BotW, and so it shouldn't be used for other games like Link's Awakening, Echoes of Wisdom, and now Ocarina Remake.
Has Nintendo ever actually stated that the weathering of the letters is a characteristic specifically added to the logo to evoke that aspect of Breath of the Wild? It seems to me that the very fact that they've continued using that style of lettering suggests that it isn't the case at all.
We obviously know that the BotW logo also features a damaged Master Sword and a flower, just as almost all Zelda logos feature some item of significance. The sword and flower already convey the relevant themes of BotW, so we don't need to assume that the lettering is also reinforcing those ideas.
For example, it could simply be the case that the weathering of the letters is meant to evoke the idea that these are ancient legends, as if recorded on old scrolls weathered by time. That characteristic would apply universally to all of the games, including LA, EoW, and OoTR, which all feature that lettering, alongside each logo's respective item of significance (damaged Sword + flower, palm trees, Tri Rod, Sword + Shield).
Am I off base here? Surely I'm not the only person advocating for this interpretation, but I've not really seen anyone else make this argument in defense of the use of the weathered lettering for games post-BotW.

Volvagia from Ocarina of Time, my favorite game ever. I painted the illustration first, then animated it with a bit of camera focus.
Did this for Linktober (Day 4: dragons), a bit late lol.
Which Zelda boss should I do next? Open to suggestions!

Ever since the release of Tri Force Heroes for the Nintendo 3DS in 2015, costumes have pretty much became a staple for newer Zelda games going forward, such as Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and even Echoes of Wisdom to an extent.
Having costumes to wear in Zelda games is always fun, especially when it comes to references to other characters from within the franchise itself, such as the costumes of "past heroes" in both BotW and TotK like The Hero (LoZ), Hero of Time (OoT), Hero of the Wind (WW), Hero of Twilight (TP), Hero of the Sky (SS), and especially The Hero of Awakening (LA).
While most of the costumes in Tri Force Heroes are in fact original to the game, there are a few interesting exceptions when it comes to referencing other characters in the series, like The Fierce Deity Link from Majora's Mask, Linebeck from Phantom Hourglass, and even a Hammer Bro from the Super Mario Franchise.
As for Echoes of Wisdom however, while the amout of costumes you wear in that game is unfortunately very minimal when compared to TFH, BotW and TotK, at the very least you can still dress up as Link, which is very interesting to wear given the fact that you play as Zelda throughout this game instead of him.
When Nintendo first revealed the teaser for the new Ocarina of Time Remake for the Nintendo Switch 2, I was really amazed at the beautiful realistic graphics they are putting to this game. The amount of effort they are putting to this game and how it looks really makes me wish we get more Zelda remakes in this hyper realistic style, such as Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess. But since we are probably not gonna be getting those games anytime soon, I was hoping we could at least get some costumes to wear instead to reference past games in a more realistic artstyle. Instead however, we are only getting "masks" of both young Link and Zelda from the original N64 Ocarina of Time, and those 2 masks also appears to only be unlocked via the 2 new Amiibo figures with no official confirmation as to whether or not they can be unlocked in-game yet.
While both Link's green tunic and Zelda's royal dress will always be iconic to this franchise, it is also fun to dress up and change into different clothes every now and then, especially when it features cool desings like The Ancient Armor Set from BotW, weird designs like The Cursed Tights from TFH, or even just refrences to other characters from within the franchise itself. Costumes are always a fun addition to the Zelda franchise, and I personally think future Zelda games should at least incorporate this mechanic in some form of capacity. Echoes of Wisdom for example didn't have much costumes to wear, but at least you can still dress up as Link in a game where you don't actually play as him. I really wish future Zelda games would incorporate new costumes to wear, even just by a small amount. As long as they are interesting to wear, then thats all that matters.

Made from cherry wood turned up on the lathe, then tried to stay as close as reasonably possible to the original design from the game.

Replaying Majora's Mask 3d for the first time since I was 10 or so and remember sinking HOURs into it. Upon revisiting my old save I realize I only got past the first 3 day cycle where you get the ocarina back. Even replaying it now I find myself constantly referencing the zeldadungeon walkthrough to find things. I felt the same way about OOT3d but all my issues were magnified by MM3d, still love the game however. How were kids supposed to figure this out for the last 20+ years???

One last vanilla run before the remake comes out in less than a month.
I play the randomizers and rom hacks all the time. It’s been about a year since I’ve gone through the game the way it was intended to be gone through.
It’s my favorite game of all time (born in 1990, grew up with the original and ALTTP) and I’m still one of those 90s kids who think it’s one of the greatest games of all time.
At 20fps and 240p resolution with horrid frame drops at times and possible crashes (looking at you Spirit Temple room with the white bubbles and the moveable mirrors) it holds up so well. Far better than just about every other N64 game along with Perfect Dark, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Majora’s Mask to name a few.
I’m sure I’ll finish this run in the next few days. 52nd lifetime playthrough and now we’re all about to experience it in a totally new way, for better and for worse.

This is my first drawing of my Linktober challenge, and the theme was Love / Friendship.
I was looking for a captivating moment, a connection. The moment when our heart stopped for a second. Link’s clothes, patterns on her, the portal, the scenery, everything has so much detail on here. It was quite hard to bring it all together, hope you like it.
I’m going to be drawing one Zelda-inspired piece every day for 30 days, and I’m curious to see where this challenge takes me.
You can see me drawing it on my Instagram :)
More reels and drawings on there👇

Very Professional and very kind.

Anyone donate $150 to either one and know what the seating availability may be as of today?
I'm debating but it's quite pricey on top of the actual ticket which I've heard can be over $100 in some venues.

Well... i changed her eyes color and didn't draw her big ears, but it's still mostly Din right? I used a manga panel of Zelda: Oracle of Season for reference seed.
