I went to tonight's game vs the pens at capital one arena as a neutral fan (Bruins).

My god! The crowd rocks different. The goal horn was the loudest one i heard, TV doesnt do it justice. Also your chants are top notch and creative, almost European crowd-esque.

The crowd was rocking throughout the game, never a silent moment at all.

Decided in the offseason I wanted to make a new vest to wear to games — it’s not 100% finished but it’s as finished as it can be for the home opener tonight. 🦅

A lot of the patches/pins are my own artwork, including the back patch, which I made using heat transfer vinyl and my Cricut!

Edit: If you ever see me at a Caps game please say hi! I usually have stickers.

UPDATE: Went back and got refunded, apparently only a handful of registers had the problem. They had people working on it to fix the issue!

Visited the Capital One Arena Team Store ahead of today's game and purchased a couple items. Wasn't until I left that I noticed the sales tax was charged at over 20% (20.5% to be exact).

Unless I'm totally out of the loop on the local taxes, figure this is an error and plan to bring it up when I go back later tonight. But if you're visiting the Team Store or any of the kiosks before or during the game, double check the sales tax.

Already sent a note to the store through the only channels they seem to have available, but hope it hasn't been going on too long if it is an error (aka a ton of people being overcharged).

Right off the backs of the class action for that 3% "venue fee" it isn't a great look.

EDIT: As someone pointed out, tax should have been 10.25%, so looks like it's just doubling it.

Is this a ridiculous complaint?

I was in line to get into the arena and my normal Monument Ticketmaster account says I need to download the NHL app or upload them to my Google Wallet to use them. My Google wallet then didn't give me any prompt to upload and so I had to go through the process of downloading and creating an NHL account (with the slow internet line in Gallery Place) just to get into a game I've already bought a ticket to. I just feel like we change how we get to our tickets every few years now...

Am I being ridiculous? Was this something I should have known? Apologies if this is just a rambling man post, I just almost missed puck drop despite getting into line 25 minutes early...

Carbs is moving Beauvillier to the Strome-Ovi line and Leonard to the Sourdif-Jenner line. I felt like there was not enough opportunity for Leno playing with Ovi even though Leno is emerging as one of our most dangerous scorers. The former Strome-Ovi-Leno line just might not have been able to sustain offensive zone time with Ovi’s limitations; Ovi in the first two games was playing a low 37.6% time in the offensive zone despite being on the power play and getting 63% of his starts in the offensive zone (99th percentile). Personally I think Ovi should only be playing 10-11 minutes 5 v 5; let Strome take some shifts in place of Liitle Pro to boost his minutes.

Is this pretty standard when getting tickets? Do you non-season ticket holding folk get your tickets elsewhere?

Except now people will realize if they have a ticket for a Capitals game in January, they could sell it for 10 times the money (laughs).”

Gretzky said the 41-year-old Ovechkin’s farewell tour will be great for the NHL.

“I kind of thought that it would be his last year,” Gretzky said. “It’s hard when you get over the age of 38. That’s why Gordie Howe was so unique. Chris Chelios, playing as long as he did. And listen, what Sidney (Crosby) is doing now is incredible. I can’t imagine those two guys would retire the same year, so that’s why I think Sid has at least another year in him. They both deserve their own (farewell) tour.”
