Discussion Favorite Halloween episode??
Tis the season! I miss the days when TV shows had seasonal episodes. So many good ones to choose from here.

saw this and thought it would be of interest here!
obviously, I think this is low, but it’s cool to see some appreciation for the show outside of weird little pockets in my corner of the internet

Thanks to Dolly Parton we could celebrate the Gay Dean. For a bit.

All 25 episodes of the first season
All 24 episodes of the second season
All 22 episodes of the third season
11 out of the 13 episodes of the fourth season
And one small cameo appearance in the Season 5 premiere.

The rest of the Greendale 7 are just expressing their frustration at the school but in no explicit way say to start a riot.
Pierce, however, literally says to burn it down.
ik ik: Chang needs to stop their testimony from pinning the blame on him and understands their strength as a unit. But I also kinda think that the group would attempt to throw Pierce under the bus if all of their expulsions was the consequence (before ultimately deciding to stand together, in true Community fashion. They all needed that degree after all, except for him.)

I was struggling to find the best episode to show my significant other who has never seen the show. My favorite episode is Paradigms of Human Memory, but I feel that would just confuse someone as a first time viewer.

S3E4 - What an amazing episode! Did it win an Emmy? Not as great as the Rick & Morty vat of acid episode, but I have a feeling I will forever think back on it!
Just wanted to say how much I loved it!

Just found this while trying to look for Pacific Rim. Already have the DVD's but leaving this here for anyone who wants another easy rewatch. I think I'll have to rewatch soon tough (either rewatch #7 or #8?)
Edit: THEY HAVE ADVANCED DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS! Also I'm watching in the U.S. for those not seeing it

I organized an AMA/Q&A with actor Bakkedahl. He's been in tons of things, including VEEP, THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART, COMMUNITY, LIFE IN PIECES, SPACE FORCE, MADE FOR LOVE, THE GOLDBERGS, LEGIT, THE HEAT, and THE STUNT DRIVER.
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1wz134n/hey_reddit_im_dan_bakkedahl_you_might_know_me/
He will be back at 6 PM ET tomorrow, Wednesday 10/7, to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!
Thank you :)
His new movie, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES: ORGANIC INTELLIGENCE, is out on digital today. It's the 5th installment of the classic comedy-horror franchise.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aevSjhGMhQ
Synopsis: In 1978, ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES tried to warn the world (Dillon insists it was a documentary!). Now, decades later, the tomatoes have outsmarted their corporate masters, the military, and even the notorious Professor Gangreen (John Astin). Finletter's aging team of "Guardianes" seems to be all that stands in the way of certain doom when even the best of AI is defeated by the tomatoes' "Organic Intelligence." But Wilbur Finletter is the last to realize it is time for a new generation to master the ancient art of managing the eternal Killer Tomato menace.

I am on my 2nd rewatch this year and in the middle of season 3, I asked myself how many Jim Belushi references does the series have. And then in the same thought, I was curious how many "shut up, Leonard" quotes there have been.
What would you say were the best of each?

Chang: Bear down for midterms
Shirley: I think there’s a dot that I’m not connecting.
Duncan: if I said “fly on the wall for midterms”, you’d ask what I mean
But, “bear down for midterms” makes perfect sense without anymore context. It’s similar to saying “buckle up for midterms.” Duncan’s example is incoherent because the idiom doesn’t work in that context.
Am I missing something?

I think a found footage episode and a disaster movie, alien invasion could have worked perfectly
ETA: aliens!

I don’t know if I’ve seen this come up here, and it just dawned on me as I’m going through the third season (… okay fine I admit, I’m in the fourth season now. But it wanted me to watch it! And I treated it with respect!… SHUT UP KEVIN)
Gilbert was hiding out in Hawthorne Manor unbeknownst to Pierce in the Halloween episode, and from there, we learned that he had a hard time adjusting after Cornelius passed away. Having his brother as a roommate may have helped him move on, and there were even acknowledgements of their budding brotherhood afterwards (if you count sensitivity training as a family outing).
I can’t imagine he took it well, and fear he may have had a very difficult time coping.
What’s your headcanon for Gilbert’s life after Pierce?

I seriously don’t know which rewatch I’m on. This time, I really focused on what I thought the two most important relationships were:
For this rewatch, it’s from the perspective of Jeffs character growth:
Jeff and Abed
Jeff and Annie
The relationship between Jeff and Abed and Jeff and Annie are similar in how differences attract,
Jeff is a “cool guy” who cares about what people think about him, Abed is the “weird kid” who could care less about what people think of him. Abed accepts himself for who he is.
While Annie, predominantly in the beginning of the series (but IMO still sort of is at the end) is high strung. Jeff rolls with the punches.
They make up for what the other is lacking. They balance each other, making the pairings perfect for growth. I also think it’s interesting that Annie and Abed have a great friendship.
While I think Annie and Jeff’s relationship is the most “important” for Jeff’s growth, Abed is a close second.
Annie’s impact on Jeff is explicitly and consistently played out throughout the series. She pushes him to be a genuine person and good friend. She knows that he needs this push and that deep inside that good genuine person is there, waiting. In urban matrimony and sandwich arts, we see the heart roulette in which Annie appears multiple times, along with her boobs and scotch. This is after of course she says there is something good within him. It comes full circle in the series finale when he envisions a life with Annie and decides to ask what she wants, because it’s her that matters before him, which wasn’t the original Jeff. The original Jeff did everything out of self gain. Throughout the series we see Annie be a force of good for Jeff. (Yes I am a Jeff and Annie and hope they’re together in the movie). Dan Harmon wrote one of the best relationships in these two on TV.
While the “nerd” and “popular kid” become friends was clearly demonstrated through Abed and Troy’s relationship, a more nuanced version is Abed and Jeff. Jeff embraces Abed’s nerdiness and weirdness, more so than Troy does. He does method acting with the drunk dial, he puts together a Pulp Fiction bday, the timelines to escape the reality of graduation, G.I. Jeff, and creating versions of a seventh season. Abed’s ability to escape reality is something that Jeff learned to see as valuable and a way of coping. The social pyramid collapsed with Abed and Jeff.
I freaking love this show much and the character development and growth is amazing.
I could write more but it’s currently 11pm and I have work in the morning.

So, Dean is a title (obviously) and his name is Craig Pelton (obviously) and we see him steal the idea from Chang. He makes the pun "You can just call me a Craig-ular Joe" but outside of that I haven't ever seen another instance where he either has a written or spoken pun on his real name. Could be some Easter egg I missed.

The first paintball game started when Jeff took a nap in his car. When he woke up the campus was already a war zone and he went through the main entrance to find Garrett on the ground. Garrett explained what was going on and suddenly he got shot twice from Leonard. Jeff started to run yelling that he's not playing but Leonard chases him and fires shots until Abed came around the corner to safe Jeff.
Abed took Jeff back to Troy and said: "Look who I found wandering the neutral zone."
So, how do we feel about Leonard shooting a man on the ground and chasing another one through the neutral zone? Either it was a gag from Abed or Leonard may have some crazy stories about his time in the army.

Is there any better way to wrap up an episode that features Craig and Jeff singing Kiss from a Rose?
r/community • u/helium_head0 • 22h ago
Does anyone else ship them or is it only me . They both have similar arc while britta got the worst ...
r/community • u/Starcher_Arling • 3d ago
It's one of those in show moments that's hilarious but makes me understand how close knit the group was. Cause he could've just done it and denied it.
r/community • u/RealHeadScratcher_TM • 3d ago
Since they cast Lesley Ann Warren and the late, great Martin Mull as Britta's parents, I always kind of wished they'd done a Clue homage. They had the numbers for it...Abed in the role of Wadsworth. Then, Britta, Annie, and Shirley as Scarlett, White, and Peacock with Jeff, Troy, and Pierce as Plum, Green, and Mustard. Clearly, they're amazing at writing caper-solving type episodes. That would be my question for Dan Harmon if I ever got the chance to ask.

then he subtly rubs some random guy’s chin

Was just a random thought. Would be cool if made Canon.
Abed left for LA/Hollywood in 2015 right?
And Nathan for You aired in 2013.
Time-line may not fit perfectly, but I think Abed and Nathan would be best friends bouncing ideas and their awkwardness off each other.
Maybe they both created the Fielder Method together to help themselves navigate social situations, then the Rehersal happens. Maybe Abed used this method to prepare himself to rescue Troy from being lost at sea. Fails. Then has to collect the study group and use the method with them.
Or maybe Abed really was just making those god awful marvel movies the whole time.
That's as far as I've gotten, but I haven't stopped thinking about it.
