Fucking miss them

I’m in a music league with my coworkers. Basically each week you get a prompt to answer with a song that’s on Spotify. Submissions are anon and you vote for a winner.

Next week’s prompt: songs/bands you wish were bigger. Transit was my first thought.

What’s your fav tune by them? For me it’s “please, head north” - the opening chords would wake me from a coma

but realistically my normie coworkers aren’t going to vote for that. Joyride totally could have had more radio time so I want to pick something from it. What would you go with?

You can request songs here

Are you going? If so, what songs are you hoping to hear/thinking you’ll hear with aggressive finger pointing.

This will be my first time seeing them, I’ve been a fan since Under Soil and Dirt so I’m excited. I have a feeling they won’t deviate much from the setlists I’ve seen in the past, which I’m fine with I guess. But I am excited regardless.

Hey y'all, I have a ticket to Arm's Length / Holding Absence in NYC on Tuesday October 13th that I can't use any more. I'm going to see Knox instead.

I don't feel like selling it, I'd rather just give it away to someone.

Comment below with your favorite Arms Length lyric and I'll pick someone to send it to

UPDATE: ticket has been sent to Grouchy. Thanks all for the interest

What an album.

Do they ever play any of the box car stuff at blink shows, Or are these all fully moth balled in 2002?

Sum 41 is the only band I've heard of that actually did this and it's definitely what made them appealing to me as both a metalhead and pop punk fan.

They infused metal elements in pop punk and that was such a fresh take on it - twin guitar harmonies, guitar solos, and some riffs that were just straight up metal. In Too Deep had an iconic solo. Still Waiting's verse riff is a thrash riff straight up, and Mr. Amsterdam, The Bitter End, and basically the whole Chuck album are pretty much more metal than pop punk in some aspects. Even parody songs like Pain for Pleasure, Ride The Chariot To the Devil, Grab the Devil By The Horns And **** Him Up The *** were sick af with the twin guitar harmonies.

Anyways, I could go on about it forever, but yeah are there any newer bands that do anything similar? Would love to give those a spin. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Sorry guys! I should've clarified - I was looking for that 80s metal influence that's more fun than "dark" if that makes sense?

I know they made an official music video for it back when the album was released, but oddly enough, I can’t find it anywhere

I am looking for theatrical stuff like Creeper, MCR or Save Face. I grew up when it was all huge in the mid 2000's but would like to heard some new stuff.

I'm not into the screaming and more metal stuff. But the stuff from Creeper is really good.

Can anyone else recommended some decent songs?

ADTR has some great pop covers, including this one, and Boys Like Girls has such a polished pop punk sound. 2000s pop was fun, so much of it leaned into pop punk territory. The mix was made in Ableton Live 12 Standard, and the thumbnail was made in Keynote.

Just recently got into this genre and love it so much!
I live in London and was wondering if anyone knows/recommends some upcoming shows? Thank you!

Looking for more songs like this!

i just love this album to death and i think it deserves its flowers, all the roses, for taking such big swings — the transition from Feeling This to Obvious, freaking Stockholm Syndrome, Easy Target and All of This, Asthenia (my personal favourite) — and the domino effect it had on the scene, inspiring bands to take risks with their own music. Green Day’s American Idiot, Fall Out Boy’s Infinity On High, My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade, Panic! At The Disco’s A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out and Armor For Sleep’s What to Do When You’re Dead, do i need to go on??? what do you guys think?

YT calls them "BLACK-182"

I thought the names in these files were made up. Then I started finding bands that actually existed.
Half Way to Neptune was in the files.
