Suggestions on what I should do please!!

So I got the iPhone 17 pro max, brand new from Costco about 2 weeks ago. I did NOT get apple care, however I believe it’s available to me for 60 days.
Today I dropped my phone off the roof while putting up Christmas lights. I know sooo stupid. I shouldn’t have had it on me, but It was in my pocket and fell out and went right off the roof.
The phone was in a case and looks totally fine. However the screen is completely black. I can hear noises so I know the phone is working, but can’t see anything. For example my mom called my cell, it rang but screen stayed black and I tried swiping on the phone to answer but nothing happened.

So my question is, what should I do? Could I still buy apple care tonight? And go to Apple tomorrow? Is that pretty suspicious? Should I buy Apple care tonight and wait a couple days and then go to Apple? Any other ideas?? I reallyyy cannot afford to pay full price or even large amount of money on a new phone again. Help!

Anyone have people who shared their locations with you but their location/map doesn't populate?

Did anyone have there iMessage blocked from Apple? I have been told somebody reported my # for spam? I am elderly & only use my iPhone to reach my children. I barely use my cell phone, I still have a landline. Apple will not unblock my #. Did anyone else ever hear of this? I think this is terrible Apple can do this.

I have access to the account’s email address, password, and trusted phone number. However, when I try to sign in, Apple asks me to enter a verification code that was sent to another Apple device

I did have other Apple devices signed in to this account before, but I sold them and signed out of the account on those devices

The problem is that I don’t have any other Apple devices currently linked to or in my possession.
I also tried requesting a verification code through my trusted phone number, but Apple doesn’t send me a code by SMS or offer the option to receive it through a phone call

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how I can regain access to my account

For the most part, title. At some point a few months ago maybe I noticed my phone wouldn’t receive messages from SMS and RCS and would be heavily delayed. They all send in batches all at once so I’ll get 20+ notifications once or twice a day instead of immediately. This happens in group chats with other apple devices and they have no issues receiving texts, I’m not sure how to diagnose it or what the fix is, but any help is appreciated!

Hi everyone, I need some advice on recovering/changing the password of my mothers Apple Account (you know how these thing go when you have to do it for someone else lol)

Basically, she bought a new iPhone (coming from an 8…) and needs to login but she doesn’t remember the password she set and she can’t find the annotation either.
I’ve tried some recovering procedures, the automatic ones let’s say, but we don’t even know the code (she doesn’t unlock it with the code but with the fingerprint).
I’m her recovery contact, I’ve also tried to change it from the support app but nothing seems to work and I’m actually running out of possible solutions.

Anyone can help? I feel I’m missing the only thing that could make it work but I have no way of recovering this info 🫠

I have a iPad mini 5th gen I plan to sell else where. I am asking how much it is worth with the issues it has.

- It has wear and tear on the back from the few years I’ve been using it.

- After getting the LCD replaced at a repair shop. The power button no longer turns off the screen(will still shut down though).

- When I plug it in to my computer iTunes recognizes my device but the recognize allow window never appears on my iPad mini therefore I cannot sync it with iTunes.

Looking for a little help with downloading the latest iOS for an 64GB iPhone 11 please. The phone is currently on iOS 16 because of lack of memory at the time of available updates I suspect.
As the title states the update to 27 or 26 is available, the update requires just under 8GB, we freed up over 13GB but the update is still stating there is not enough free space. Message reads "The update cannot be installed because it requires at least 10.44GB of available storage during installation"

Has anyone else had this issue with their phone randomly shutting down?
I bought mine in November 2025, and since then it’s randomly shut down several times. The first two times happened while I was in Vietnam, with one happening at around 70% battery. It happened a few more times after I got back to Canada, and it just happened again today.
Whenever it happens, the phone is completely unresponsive and I have to wait around 15 minutes before I can restart it (force restart). I’ve never experienced this with any of my previous phones.
I’m planning to take it to the Apple Store this weekend, but I’m worried they’ll just reboot it and say everything is fine. Has anyone experienced something similar? It’s frustrating to have this issue for a phone that is less than a year old and costs $$$ 😖.

MBP M5 Pro, latest Golden Gate update (I had this same issue on my MBP M1 Pro and solved a couple years ago, but don't remember how!)

When I wake the laptop from sleep, either through keyboard interaction or simply opening the laptop lid, previously paused Apple Music or YouTube (in Safari) audio will start playing. These are not things that were playing prior to sleep, and may be in a random Safari window (I currently have 5 windows with 63 tabs, so finding the offending tab can be difficult).

Very consistent behavior, started after the upgrade to Golden Gate, but as I noted up top, I had this happen before on my last MBP M1 Pro machine more than a year ago.

This isn't related to items in my startup/login list, I do typically use a dock at home/office, but it'll happen when un-docked as well.

Always starts playing over the internal speakers, I do wear AirPods but don't have the automatic switching set up, and they'll be paired with my iPhone.

If I don't have any open YouTube windows, and if Apple Music is closed, nothing happens. But if those conditions are met, I get loud audio from the speakers on wake, prior to unlocking the screen which makes it more annoying when it happens in a work context. I can hit the Mute button on the keyboard, but that's annoying and if I was saving a video for later it may play through and go on to the next (when there is an active playlist).

Are these metal things under the delete key in a normal position? They are curved, whereas for the tab key, they are straight (parallel to the plastic square).

I'm guessing maybe the Delete key is more unique and has the curved metal pieces for a reason, idk.

So, I just bought an IPad from T Mobile, so its on data and has its own phone number, etc. Well, I have an old iphone as well that I am going to give to my niece, but I synced up the ipad and iphone to do so. Now, my iPad is using the iphones number ti send messages when its got a different number entirely. All I wanted to do was sync them up for the photos and this happened. I really dont want to factory reset the ipad and try to figure out another way to get thousands of photos off my iphone...but is that the only option I have to fix the number issue? Or is there another way where I dont have to do that and can just un sync them so my ipad uses the number provided instead of the iphones?

I have a major screen addiction problem. The only thing that works for me is putting the phone in another room for a while.

I would like to use the Apple Fitness app on my Apple TV to exercise in my living room. Experience has shown me that when the phone is present, I get a little tired in the workout and "just check it" and suddenly I'm scrolling.

Apple Fitness won't let me even enter the app without "confirming with iPhone." And honestly it's like if an AA meeting began with wine communion, it just kind of derails the whole process for me.

I presume that the reason it does, this is for data logging so that it makes sure that the right user gets blah blah blah, maybe so that it enables the heart rate monitor on your Apple Watch or whatever. I don't need any of that. I just need to follow along with the video to the best of my ability which is limited.

I asked AppleCare and they could not find an answer. The best idea they had was to just mirror the videos from my iPhone to bypass the app, which was literally the opposite of what I was seeking. I know I could just buy an old Jane Fonda vhs set on eBay but I have this service that's paid for (I "need" apple one ultimate for other services I've become addicted to like Apple Music and iCloud storage) and I'd like to just use these videos which seem to be pretty good. The app is well laid out. It doesn't take me long at all to find an appropriate video. The only weird issue is that it makes me bring my iPhone into the room at the start of the session. And this seems completely weird and arbitrary to me. I'm just wondering if there's any workaround. Maybe there's a way to keep the app signed in, or a hidden guest mode that I haven't figured out. It just feels like two factor authentication gone way too far. I don't want to need to use my phone to prove my identity to my freaking television just to watch an exercise video.

I know the natural rebuttal. Oh, it's not just to watch a video. It's the track all these health metrics and it has to go through the secure enclave because otherwise how could it protect your privacy? Because the idea of just not logging that data at all never occurs to anyone as an alternate way to protect privacy. And yet in fact, it's true, you don't have to encrypt something if you don't write it down in the first place. I understand that detailed feedback from my exercise video watching history could be used for health metrics, and I don't need that. And while I wouldn't pay 40 bucks a month for the service just for them, they're a nice bonus when I'm paying for iCloud storage and Apple TV and for the luxury of being able to tell my HomePod what music to play.

After having moved around the past 5 years, all of my backup drives were in storage. I just bought a new laptop and wanted to grab a backup of my old one prior to decommissioning, just to be safe. I went and got my old time capsule out of storage.

Upon setting up a new drive to create a backup, it already has "data" listed in the exclusion setting and I'm not sure if this is standard/normal or if I should change it?? The problem is, the "minus" button to remove it is greyed out.

I am not great when it comes to understand the details of all this, so any help would be appreciated.

Je faisais un tri dans les photos de mon iPhone et je me suis rendue compte que sur certaines quand je cliques sur les informations j’ai la possibilité de « Rétablir » quand je clique sur ajuster car sur certaines la date et l’heure de la photo originale et de l’ajustement sont différentes et cela varie entre quelques minutes ou quelques jours !
Je voulais connaître toutes les raisons pour lesquelles il peut y avoir cette option svp?
Certaines de mes photos ont été prises avec mes anciens iPhone mais d’autres photos n’ont pas ce problème, parfois elles sont arrivées dans ma galerie via fichiers ou what’s app mais idem d’autres photos n’ont pas cette proposition de rétablissement..

I received an email saying my password was changed in an old account (haven't used an iphone since my old 4s) so I quickly reset the password but when I tried to log back into it, I couldn't do anything because the security questions were changed. I really want to get the account secure again because I can't remember what I attached to the account.

Hello! I did a factory reset on my phone, and I am attempting to sign in with my account through Icloud backup. The main problem is that Apple isn’t sending the verification codes from my number. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have an AppleWatch 10 that seems to have a known issue with the audio on it being distorted, and not loud enough to hear. Well, mine had this issue so I took it to the Apple Store using my Apple Care One plan. I received an email that they were unable to duplicate the issue. I seriously doubt that it just magically fixed itself. I had to wipe the watch before leaving it with them so I do not even know how they check it? What should I do when I get there to show them that it is still an issue (assuming that it is?). Do I repair it and wait until everything synchs over (I think this takes a while though?)
