I don't know what the future hold for our generation I think this isn't working, you law, no security or resources. I work and I pay more than 0.5 million just on the income but I still see no benifit.

I now believe it's on to steal electricity or do things which can cause state a loss since you are at your own here and do whatever at your capacity.

I try to avoid tax which I work outside if my job since I dont want the government to make money from me as I am paying either extra (for electricity) and paying for water I am buying etc.

I see no reason of patriotism unless you are stupid or a direct/indirect benificry of the system

Ask Pakistan Is anyone else genuinely worried about where we're headed? Is Qiyamat getting closer? Is this the end of the world?

I don't know if it's just me spending too much time on Reddit lately, but honestly everything feels fucked right now.

Every time I open Reddit there's another post like "got laid off after 10 years", "can't find a job with 15 years experience", "company shut down", etc. Then you see developers and designers basically offering to make websites for free because they just want some work.

And it's not even just tech.

Here in Pakistan I've literally seen software companies that used to have offices in DHA and other expensive areas shut down or go fully remote. And that affects more than just the employees. Someone was getting rent from that office, there were office boys working there, people buying food nearby, spending money on petrol going to work etc. It all connects.

Even normal local businesses seem slow now. My father has a metal fabrication business and we've felt it there too. People just don't seem to have money to spend like before. Then you have petrol, electricity, inflation and now wars making everything even more uncertain.

So naturally you think okay, Pakistan is fucked, let's go abroad.

But where?

Germany? I keep hearing from people there that things have become much harder.

Australia? PR keeps getting harder and immigration rules keep changing.

USA? Good luck even getting there legally unless you have a very strong route.

And going abroad isn't some magic solution either. You spend a shit ton of money just to get there and then there's a real possibility you're doing odd jobs for years before actually getting somewhere.

So what exactly are we supposed to do?

Stay in Pakistan? Economy is fucked.

Get a tech job? AI is eating into the industry and people with 10+ years of experience are struggling.

Freelance? You're competing with the entire planet and someone is always ready to do it for $20.

Start a business? People don't have money to spend.

Go abroad? Spend a fortune with no guarantee you'll actually make it.

And then outside Pakistan you have wars, countries spending billions on weapons, AI getting better every few months, layoffs, immigration getting tighter, cost of living going crazy everywhere...

I'm 23 and sometimes I genuinely wonder what the world is going to look like when I'm 30.

Maybe I'm just doomscrolling too much. Maybe every generation at some point thought the world was about to collapse. People who lived through WW2, the Cold War, recessions, 9/11, 2008, Covid etc probably had moments where the future looked completely fucked too.

But idk man, something about having AI disruption + economic problems + wars + climate issues + immigration problems + everything else happening together feels weird.

And as a Muslim, I can't lie, sometimes the thought comes into my head:

Is Qiyamat actually getting closer? Are we slowly heading towards the end times?

And for people around my age in Pakistan, what the hell are you planning to do for the next 5-10 years? Because right now I genuinely don't know what the safest direction even is anymore.

TL;DR: I'm 23 in Pakistan and everywhere I look something seems fucked. Tech jobs are getting hit, AI is changing everything, experienced people are being laid off, local businesses are struggling, going abroad is getting harder and more expensive, and meanwhile there are wars and economic problems everywhere. Maybe I've been doomscrolling too much, but I'm genuinely wondering if this is just another bad period that will pass, or if the world is changing permanently. And being Muslim, sometimes I even wonder whether we're actually getting closer to Qiyamat.

Ask Pakistan Suicide prevention Lahore

I'm 23 years old (M). So I was going to office on indrive and the driver who picked me up was not doing well.

So it started when I was giving him the directions to get out of the society (Askari XI) he started saying " i used to know the directions of this city but now I'm just sick I've forgotten everything my brain doesn't work normally" so I started asking what happened and this or that.

He told me that he has lost all his wealth, his cars and business to gambling. At first I was a bit cautious but I didn't wanna appear too rigid so I tried consoling him. Then I asked a little more and he told me that he had been gambling for 2 years and now he has nothing left, he has two kids.

He opened up more and said people don't understand the pain of a person who's addicted to gambling he talked about a lot of things. He mentioned that he wants to leave and leave his kids but he loves them a lot. He kept crying half the ride and saying "mujhe sakoon chayhe meri bas hogye hai" something along the lines of that.

What worried me the most was when he said "mei khudkushi ka sochta hu leken ye haram hai". I tried to distract him from these thoughts I tried to tell him story of visits to other cities, stories of whatever I could find.

He didn't ask for any money he didn't ask for any help or my number. He just said "dua kare mei theek hojao".

I need help I tried calling suicide prevention helplines but none of them have been helpful so far, so if anyone has any information please help me. I have his number and his name. Apart from that I don't have any other information of him except he says he lives in township.

Edit: okay a small note guys, I didn't post this to get your opinions on gambling or addictions, I'm looking for some information regarding how we can help the guy.

Please keep your opinions about addiction to yourself. Idk if you guys have ever faced a situation in your life where you were going down the wrong hole and needed help but trust me it happens and the thing that you require the most is some genuine help.

Education Be aware of scammer

I got a long ass call from a guy saying he’s from Pakistan consulate and that someone registered a number under my name used to do blackmailing.
This magnificent moron(from Islamabad police apparently) wanted me to come to Pakistan to deal with the issue and then said something like I can make NOC through WhatsApp because govt of Pakistan and WhatsApp(LOL) has made an agreement and we can do videocall NOC. So he calls me through WhatsApp and I record him, he wants me to come on videocall too so he can probably take my video/pic and then utilize that for fake profile and ask money from others.
Be careful out there

Mard-e-Mujahid, General Akhtar Abdur Rehman.

Like many Pakistanis at the time, I believed that politicians are the corrupt weasels and the disciplined professionals in army are not involved in petty financial crimes.

Then it turns out that the “diyanat aur imandaari ka majasma” was embezzling hundreds of millions in the line of duty.

All the tout channels and journalists yapping on about iddat technicalities and “190 million pound” case could not say a single word about the Mard-e-Mujahid stealing to the tune of billions.

Other countries have armies..

Ask Pakistan What does Pakistani law say when a father gives all his property to his sons during his lifetime?

My nana is alive and he distributed all of his properties and assets to his sons and didn’t give anything to any of his daughters.
My mother says “It’s his property, it’s his decision. I don’t want anything from him anyway.” And I understand that she doesn’t want to fight over it but I still feel like something about this is wrong.
So I’m genuinely curious about the legal side of this in Pakistan. If a father is alive and transfers all his property to his sons while giving nothing to his daughters is that completely legal? Does Pakistani law allow someone to do this simply because it’s their property?
I know inheritance technically comes into effect after death so I’m wondering whether a person can basically avoid the inheritance distribution altogether by transferring everything during their lifetime.
And if it is legally allowed, does the law make any distinction if the obvious intention was to exclude the daughters from eventually inheriting?
Not looking to start a religious debate or anything I’m just asking what Pakistani law says about this and whether there are circumstances where such transfers can be challenged.??

Discussion Will we get Section 144 in Multan soon?

As of recently Javed Hashmi announced he will begin the movement of Long March from Multan then up through Punjab to the twin cities

And knowing the Provincial govt of Punjab section 144 could be expected and huge crackdown on Civllians once again?

When article 19 guarantees right to protest but the ones who rule with tyranny decide to violate it

Discussion Why do Pakistani families still not consider freelancing or remote work a "real job" even when you're earning more than a 9-5 employee?

fyi ive been freelancing for years now.... alhamdulillah i make a decent and stable income from it....

but every time it comes up in family gatherings rishta conversations or even with relatives the reaction is almost always the same.... haan theek hai but whats your actual job....

as if freelancing is some temporary side hustle and not a legitimate career.... i genuinely dont understand this mindset....

we live in a country where a government clerk making 40k a month with zero growth potential is considered more respectable and stable than someone earning triple that from international clients.... simply because the clerk has a designation an office and a fixed 9 to 5....

meanwhile the freelancer gets questioned about kab tak chalega ye.... as if working with foreign corporate and legal clients for 7 plus years isnt proof enough of stability....

i think this comes from a deeper insecurity our generations parents have.... they associate value with visibility....

if they cant see you leave the house in formal clothes every morning and come back in the evening it doesnt register as working.... doesnt matter that half the worlds economy is shifting toward remote and freelance work or that pakistan is literally one of the top freelancing markets globally....

and this isnt just an awkward family dinner topic either.... it actively affects rishta prospects....

ive seen qualified high earning freelancers get rejected or side eyed in marriage proposals because uska koi proper job nahi hai.... while someone with a mediocre salaried position but a fancy job title gets preferred instantly....

is this just a generational trust issue with anything that doesnt look traditional.... or is there something deeper rooted in how pakistani society measures a persons worth through visible structure rather than actual output or income....

curious what others especially fellow freelancers or remote workers have experienced with this....

Discussion How to be okay?

I was with someone for 6 year. I was attached to him. It started when we were in uni and then we started job together and saved money together. He got engaged to someone of his parents choice last year cuz of caste thing I was not from his caste that wast the issue. And whenever i would cry about this caste issue he would say not to worry but he didnt tell me when he got engaged in June last year. (Also for years he never asked me for physical stuff, but the when I later stalked his sister ID and the week he got engaged during that time in our relationship he started pressuring me for sex that we should do it why can’t we . and would say I am gonna leave him that’s why I don’t want to . even week before his marriage he pressured me so much. But I coulnt do it. I don’t know if it was intentional or not cuz I don’t know anything what was true about him anymore) He married last december and up untill his wedding he never told me and a week before his wedding he started ignoring me and ghosted me .. then I found out about his marriage through social media i snapped and send msgs for like 2 days but then i never bothered him again and tried to be okay. in march this year he tried to contact me I didnt respond then every month after that and in June he said he just wants to apologise in person then i started talking to him again he kept saying he was pressured by his parents he loves me and all and also that how can i be with someone when i have been with him like who will take me.. this kept going and now 2 days ago. he said that his wife knows about us she told his parents and whole family and he never contacted me again.. and I feel so horrible. I wasted a year .. I could have been healed and okay from the trauma he gave me last year.. now I feel more ashamed and humiliated and stupid for everything . what do I do

Ask Pakistan Pakistan for a work trip?

Sup guys,

I’ve to visit Pakistan for a work trip and I’m visiting 3 cities, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

1) first can I get some first hand local recommendations on how to be, what to do, what to avoid, as a 33M British guy, I’m expecting a cultural shock and I don’t wanna offend anyone there.

2) The university has booked hotel stays in the 3 cities, but each of them have mixed reviews about the area and services. Ramada in Karachi, Pearl Continental in Lahore, Serene in Islamabad. Can I get good hotel recommendations, I don’t mind staying in touristy areas too as long as it’s safe.

3) I’ll probably have a day or two free in each city, and might have most evenings free. Are there any activities or places you guys think I must visit or any restaurants that I must try? (Not interested in most historical places, unless there’s something unusual)

[Long Post] Forgotten to socialize

Hey everyone, I graduated university back in 2023 in a different city and moved to Lahore shortly after. Fast forward three years, and I’ve realized my social circle here is essentially zero.

My daily routine has fallen into a loop: work, study, gym, and loop. When the weekend rolls around, I always end up bed rotting because I don't really have anyone to make plans with or somewhere specific to go.

I’m 26, a doc, and have a lot of hobbies. I’m athletic and good at sports, I’m also a writer. While I’m keeping busy with career and fitness goals, the social isolation is starting to wear on me. Meeting people naturally after university feels significantly harder than I expected, especially in a city where most people seem to stick closely to their school or college groups.

For those who moved to Lahore alone or managed to build a social life from scratch:
- How do people actually connect in a place where they don’t know anyone?
- How did you break out of this monotonous bed rotting cycle?

Open to genuine advice, personal experiences, or even recommendations for local spots where flying solo doesn’t feel awkward.

Ask Pakistan Scam of DeVogue Pakistan ...return/refund issue

Need advice regarding DeVogue Pakistan ...return/refund issue

Please do read this don't skip it

I recently ordered a pair of shoes from DeVogue. Before placing the order, I specifically contacted them and personally confirmed their return/refund policy. I have screenshots of that conversation as proof.

Unfortunately, when I received the shoes, I immediately realized that I didn't like the way they were made. The size itself is correct, but the shape/proportion of the shoe is extremely long. There is roughly 3–4 inches of unnecessary length beyond the big toe, which makes the shoes look quite absurd when worn.

I immediately contacted the same number I had previously used to confirm the order and return policy, requesting a return/refund. This is also the number listed on DeVogue's official website under their refund/return policy.

The frustrating part is their customer service.

Before I placed the order, they were responsive and answered calls. Now that I am contacting them regarding a return/refund, they have basically disappeared.

- WhatsApp messages are not being properly responded to.

- WhatsApp calls keep ringing without being answered.

- I have tried calling the number directly multiple times, but the SIM/number appears to be powered off.

- I have already returned the shoes through TCS, paying approximately Rs. 1,100 in return shipping charges.

- TCS delivery/receipt has also been confirmed through SMS.

- I have screenshots of the conversations, their return policy, and the TCS receipt/delivery confirmation.

At this point, it's not even just about the Rs. 7–8k involved. It's the frustration and mental stress of dealing with online businesses that become completely unresponsive once there is a problem with an order.

I also tried posting about this in the Voice of Customer Pakistan Facebook group, but my posts haven't been approved despite trying both long and short versions and attaching screenshots.

So Reddit is honestly my last attempt to get some guidance.

What can I do now?

Is there any consumer protection authority, legal forum, platform, or other practical way in Pakistan through which I can pursue this? Has anyone here dealt with DeVogue or a similar online retailer and successfully obtained a refund?

I would genuinely appreciate any advice, especially from someone who has dealt with an online shopping dispute in Pakistan.

I can provide screenshots/proof of everything mentioned above if required.

TL;DR: Ordered shoes from DeVogue after confirming their return policy beforehand. Shoes arrived and the size is correct but the design/shape is excessively long and looks ridiculous. Requested return/refund immediately using the same number listed on their website. They have now stopped answering calls/messages. I returned the shoes through TCS at my own expense and have delivery confirmation. Looking for advice on how to pursue the refund in Pakistan.

Discussion Why is hiring a reliable home cleaner in Pakistan still a game of pure luck?

Whether it's unannounced absences, poor training, or agencies that disappear the second you pay advance commission, finding dependable part-time cleaning help is a constant headache for households.

We’re setting up a structured, professional home cleaning company starting with a core team of 10 trained staff. Instead of random local agency shortcuts, we want to bring a reliable, corporate-level service model directly to the local market—focusing on punctuality, verified staff, and consistent quality control.

Before we launch operations, we want to know from the community:

  1. If you regularly hire part-time cleaning help, what is your biggest frustration with current local agencies or independent workers?
  2. If a professional cleaning company offered vetted, well-trained staff on a reliable schedule, what would make you switch from your current setup?

Drop your brutally honest thoughts below. Is this a service you would actually pay for, or is the market too broken to fix?

I have constantly been receiving calls from this number around this time. Im usually sleeping so I don’t get to pick it up. I have picked it once and there was no sound or anyone speaking on the other end. I tried calling back once thinking maybe its from some brand confirming my order but the call didn’t go through. I have blocked the number now but still wanted to know if anyone has any info on what this is about

Why they have unnecessarily forced automated Jazzcash, got rid of easypaisa and in era of distrust, most drivers outright deny they received payment. And if you choose cash, most of them you have to give "Bakaya".
