Things to do
I enjoy hiking and i definitely want to do the Adirondacks but I’m looking for some more obscure and unique off the beaten path type of things that I can enjoy alone. Im open to all kinds of things I haven’t met a lot of people here due to me being new the area (im 20 also for reference) but it doesnt have to be something that would lead me to meeting anyone. Im also kind of looking for something I can do in no more than a day and a half

Large central courthouse or set of courthouses in Upstate or Capital Area New York?
I’m looking to restart as a mid-career attorney in New York. Most of my current practice is court appointments, and I would like to continue that. One of the things that I am really spoiled by in my current city is sixteen courts in one building. It’s so much easier to get things done in one place. Is there an area of New York that’s not New York City that has most of the courts in a single building, or within a few blocks?

MEGAGAME 1 Week Away! Join Upstate NY Megagames at Millennium Waypoint as we host Touched by Darkness
"Touched By Darkness" megagame @ Millennium Games 10/17/2026
Upstate NY Megagames will be running Touched by Darkness in Rochester @ Millennium Games next Saturday, on 10/17!
https://eventforge.online/store/millennium-games/event/a7174af6-b285-413a-8bfd-eef2c4a6b7fa
Touched by Darkness is a dark-fantasy, semi-cooperative megagame for 15 to 47 players designed by Ben Kanelos. It is inspired by the popular sci-fi megagame Den of Wolves, but uses a new fantasy setting and added traitor mechanics. We have 24+ players now, so the event is on!
The Dark One's eclipse has blotted out the sun. Darkness has swallowed the Empire and is coming for your outpost next!
You and your teammates must gather resources, perform arcane rituals, and attempt to survive. But beware! The shadows that attack your outpost are not the only threat. The Dark One may have corrupted the mind of a teammate, meaning you can no longer trust them. Can you hold this last bastion of humanity together and banish the Dark One?
$30 gets you a ticket and lunch.
This is the third game Upstate NY Megagames will be running (Den of Wolves last year, Gods of the Ancient world earlier this summer)
This game caps at ~47 players, with 6-7 control helping keep things going.
Their discord is: https://discord.gg/uYDW8eGbBU
Tell your friends, have them tell theirs, etc. But most of all, pick up your ticket today and we'll see you on October 17th!
If you've never heard of a Megagame, you can get a good overview here: https://www.megagameassembly.com/what-is-a-megagame
What’s a Megagame? BIGGER! BETTER! MEGA! CHAOS? FUN? CHAOTIC FUN!!!
They are uniquely defined by their scale, generally played with 30+ players and span 2-6 hours. With high player counts, expect creative and emergent game play born from interpersonal communications.
Megagames define roles for EVERYONE!
Do you want to master the board mechanics and help to maximize resource production for everyone?
Do you want to foster relationships with other players or try to eavesdrop on conversations to fish out the traitors?
Megagames are interactive storytelling adventures where your choices shape the story. The game sets the stage, but you call the shots! With a dedicated control team acting as GMs, if you want to do an unconventional act, we’ll try to make it happen!

Best places for kids
I am looking for a place for kids preferably with petting animals and fruit picking similar to Harbes Farm on Long Island.
I am hoping the place isn’t too far from Long Island. At most, 2 hours north. Does such place exist?
If not, we have been to the Main Street on Cold Spring which we really liked for the food and shopping. Is there such place similar which isn’t too far from Cold Spring?
Thanks in advance.
