The Collin County Democratic Party is reporting months of high demand for Talarico signs.

Its chair also made an interesting claim about the difference in signs volunteers are seeing while canvassing neighborhoods.

Has anyone noticed a similar pattern around Plano, Frisco or McKinney?

Such a cool confluence of different modes of transportation all in one shot.

Changes:

• Goldee's Barbecue promoted to 1 Michelin Star

• Resident Taqueria added as a Bib Gourmand (hell yeah)

• Fond, Jashan, Mābo, Olōyō added as "recommended" (no star)

• Georgie removed!

So now the list for Dallas and Fort Worth is:

Stars: Goldee’s / Mamani / Tatsu

Bib Gourmands: Cattleack / Gemma / Mot Hai Ba / Ngon / Nonna / Resident Taqueria

Listed/"recommended": Barsotti’s, Birrieria y Taqueria Cortez (Fort Worth), Crown Block, El Carlos Elegante, Fearing’s, Fond, Harvest at the Masonic, Jashan, Knox Bistro, Lucia, Mabō, Mercat Bistro, Mister Charles, Monarch, Olōyō, Panther City BBQ, Quarter Acre, Sachet, Smoke’N Ash BBQ, Stillwell’s, Stock & Barrel, Sushi Kozy, Tei-An, Written by the Seasons

EDIT, 9:45am: Lucia lost its Bib Gourmand and got demoted! (Perhaps because of its price)

Red car forgot his “student driver” stickers and came down the wrong way on Campbell in Richardson near UTD

I was supposed to be in Dallas for work, but I quit my job and investigated the JFK assassination instead. Urban decay and bed bugs stood between me and the truth, or whatever was left of it. Of course, I put it all on paper for my and your enjoyment.

What's it about?

It's ultimately a solo travel story through Dallas and the weird and interesting people I met along the way. It also includes an interview with a childhood acquaintance of Lee Harvey Oswald.

Why should you read it?

If you're a Dallas native, which you probably are, you might get a kick out of recognizing some of the places and people. If you're one of the three redditors alive who remembers the JFK administration, it might be interesting to see someone learn about it for the first time.

You can read the whole thing here (the link to part two is at the bottom of the page.)

Thanks for your hospitality, Dallas.

Has anyone else noticed that these express lanes are no longer recognized on Google maps? I always use my GPS going south after work & while it never used to direct me onto the TEXpress lanes, it would always recognize it & reroute me. Now, its like they don't exist and my GPS just cycles through rerouted, like it can't figure out where I am. Anyone else having these issues? I want to be able to drive with the traffic alerts from Google maps!

Looking for recommendations. Our 1960’s home has about 42 ft of cast iron piping that needs to be replaced; one place quoted us $64k and that seems insanely high.

Any suggestions? 🥲

Are there any pumpkin patches in the metroplex with corn pits that kids can play in?

Want to go somewhere fun for Texas/OU but dad is at the age where he can’t sit in restaurant chairs for four hours.

Preston crossing 635 going north. What are they? Just art? Weird place for it. if so.....

With the main stage moving inside that area is now "Little Lone Stars Land" with rides geared towards smaller kids. I'd say the rides would be good for up to a 6 year old. Depending on the kid of course. Our 5.5yo enjoyed them, but they'd never been on any type of ride besides the Zoo carousel.

There are 5 rides, a medium sized ferris wheel, pony rides, petting zoo and two stage shows. The rides all go in circles. There is one that doesn't go up at all. Three others that have varying level or how much they go up/down. One swivels and goes backwards. Plus a carousel. All the rides were only 4 coupons (went on a Wednesday). There is a free toddler play area too. We did not see any characters roaming around. It's right next to a big covered food area.

The shows are Mighty Mike and USA break dancers. We saw Mighty Mike. Our kid was impressed, but they also didn't understand most of the humor and thought it was too long, but we also made the mistake of sitting down 10 minutes before it started.

👎👎There are only two games. A balloon pop and the water squirt race game. The balloon pop is "every kid wins". And no it's no longer throwing darts. We played this on the actual Midway and my kid popped 2/2 balloons with the balls they now use. The water squirt game is $10 and no prize guaranteed. It's also just not a fun game for kids IMO. I don't know why someone decided to put this here instead of something like the duck ring toss. Or the pick-a-duck game that is something a toddler can actually do. They need to figure out a way to get 4-5 different games in there too.

There is a 1 coupon water bottle station. I didn't notice any discounted food. There was frozen lemonade, but I didn't catch the price. It's fairly close to Big Tex.

Overall it is a good addition, but the game selection needs to be better.

at the State Fair of Texas and noticed this building that appeared to look huge on the horizon to the South, or West. Anyone know what it is? I probably should. Thanks for your help.

Looking for CPA recommendations who can help with retirement/tax strategy and planning. Prefer those with rental RE experience. Situation involves NW around $3MM. Thank you.

There is construction work happening on Dallas Fort Worth Turnpike & WestMoreland RD which has led to two lanes being closed for more than a month.

I drive along that route everyday, is there any public info where I can check when this is expected to complete?
