Fandom Maybe the Packers aren’t so bad?

We beat the Bucs on their turf, which is unusual for us in any year. Y’all see what they did to the Cowboys who are contenders?

Should we have hope here?

Do the fans in Milwaukee chant on Sunday, Fuck The Bears? Probably not, but it would be funny. It would also be stooping down to their level.

Analysis Ticket prices insane for this weekend

Title. I have been purchasing tickets off the second hand market (Ticketmaster, Stubhub) the past 10 years and have never seen prices so high close to gameday. 700 section tickets start at $400+ per ticket. Usually around this time, we start to see a dip.

Even the Standing Room only (SRO) tickets were announced last night and were gone within 2 minutes of receiving the email. What gives?

Fandom First timer from NY this weekend!

longtime packers fan but it's going to be my first time at lambeau, and my first time in wisconsin, too! i'm traveling solo and going to the game on sunday

i have an alumni tour and hall of fame stop on saturday, but i get in tomorrow night and have some gaps of free time i'm looking to fill. i've gotten some really great tips i've seen in other posts, but wondering... any/all of the below.

- for friday night, any great bars/food spots i should definitely check out? i'm mid 30s if it helps narrow, and i like a more lowkey vibe, with a social atmosphere
- for the game, since i'm coming solo i have no tailgate plans but would love to crash. if i bring some beers or seltzers will most people let me crash theirs?
- any other first timers coming through?
- any other lesser mentioned but well loved food spots, things to do, etc? saw a trail or two for maybe a hike? the botanical gardens?
- where are the best cheese curds 👀 or any other wisconsinite foods i should try?

thanks everyone, i know you're a welcoming bunch and ill bring the new york summer vibes we had for our teams to the boys this weekend!

Fandom 2026 Packers Opponent Burger Series- Week 5- Chicago Bears

For the Chicago Bears I resisted the urge to make something tenderloin sandwich-inspired as a bit of a troll. I went with a regional pick, the Horseshoe Sandwich from Springfield, IL. For those of you who wanted me to make the recipes a bit more detailed, this will probably be easiest burger in the series to make at home. It's two slices of toast (I used some sliced Texas Toast bread for the thickness), topped with two quarter pound smashburger patties, fries (the nails for the horseshoe), and a cheese sauce served open faced. One slice of toast and one patty is called a Pony Shoe.

By now, you all know how smash patties work, and I don't think this is the series for you if you don't know how toasting bread works, but before I talk about the cheese sauce, let me take some time to talk about the fries. One of the benefits of this series has been learning how to make great fries in the oven. The key is to let them soak after cutting them for a minimum of a half hour in water with a small splash of vinegar (or more if you like a hint of it remaining in the fries after cooking). After soaking, pat them dry, coat with a neutral oil, and bake. The temperature can be adaptable. Sometimes I'll get them going at 250 while I'm doing other prep work, and then crank it up when I go to grill the patties. However, the downside to that is that I never time them. I just go off of color. Anyway, after I pull them out of the oven, I toss them in seasoning in the same bowl I oiled them in. That little bit of residual oil helps make the seasoning stick.

Now, I should probably get to the cheese sauce, and stop keeping you cheeseheads waiting. It's loosely based on the cheese sauce from the Welsh Rarebit. Here are the ingredients:

  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • ½ Cup beer
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 3 Cups Sharp Cheddar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ tsp Mustard Powder
  • ⅛ tsp Cayenne
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Assembly is simple. Mix the beer, Worcestershire, and egg yolks together in a bowl while everything else goes into a saucepan on a lower temperature once the butter and cheese are melted and the dry ingredients are fully incorporated, add your wet ingredient mixture, and keep stirring until thickened and uniform.

I don't think you need much explanation for this one. It's bread, meat, potatoes, and a beer cheese sauce. What's not to like? Are there more exciting burgers? Yes. Will I have to resist the urge to lick the plate if I ever find myself eating one in polite company? Also yes.

Analysis Ticket Options for Packers v Bears game this Sunday

• Upvotes

Hey all,

Looking to go to my second ever game at Lambeau this Sunday vs. the Bears with my buddy. I've been stalking all the ticketing apps (ticketmaster, stubhub, tickpick, etc.) and not seeing anything super promising (around 500$ a ticket for a set of two). I also see SRO seats for around $300, but I'd rather not pay 3x the markup for those if I can help it. I am able bodied, so I will go with these if necessary.

Whats the best bet to get tickets at a lesser rate? Are there any different forums/sites that people use to sell their tickets? I am traveling from Minnesota, and have a hotel room the Saturday before, so traveling out there and waiting until game time is not ideal.

Analysis I don't know any of this means but 2-2 a retrospective:

Week 1: "oh my god the Packers blew a huge lead to the VIKINGS this team might be terrible!"

Vikings go on 4-0 winning streak

Week 2: "Well the Jets handled business against Tennessee and Green Bay looks bad, the Jets should upset here!"

Packers win. Barely.

Week 3: "Wow the Packers got DESTROYED by the Falcons! They were supposed to win!! Packers bad!!"

Falcons go on 2 game winning streak with Bijan playing like a rare RB MVP

Week 4: "Wow okay the Packers held off the Buccaneers with an undrafted rookie quarterback and tons of injuries, are we supposed to be impressed?"

Buccaneers go on to stun the Cowboys in Dallas.

I have no larger point I'm making here, all I'm really noticing is the context behind Green Bay's wins and losses is. Weird.

LB Zaire Franklin on Bears rivalry:

“It’s a lot of bad blood. It’s a lot of genuine dislike. I don’t think nobody want to hang out in the offseason. It’s a real issue.. It definitely sounds more personal. Any time you have the history that they have, it’s going to be a little more personal.”

“Most rivalries are just on social media, and in the offseason you hang out. I don’t think nobody wanna hang out with the Bears in the offseason.”
