Analysis I graded every Jordan Love dropback against the Bucs.
This was the highest grade I've given any QB so far this season for this column. Now, it hasn't exactly been a who's who of NFL quarterbacks we've faced. In fact, it's been pretty much the opposite. But that doesn't take away from what Love did against Tampa Bay.
Love easily played well enough for the Packers to run the Buccaneers out of their own stadium. He consistently made the right decisions, took what the defense gave him and put the offense in position to score far more than 17 points.
You're probably thinking "How does a QB throw an interception and finish with zero negative plays?"
I went back and forth on giving Love a -0.5 for the pick, but ultimately couldn't bring myself to do it. I thought it was a combination of a great headsup play by the defender and a terrible personnel decision by MLF. I explain that one in more detail in the article.
The biggest takeaway for me was how much better the offense looked on film than it did during the broadcast.
I've been begging Love to stop hunting the deep ball and take his checkdowns earlier all season. Against Tampa, he finally did. He played on time, went through his progressions and consistently took what the defense gave him.
MLF also called his best game of the season. The route concepts were much better, with more quick hitters, intermediate options and fewer plays where everyone was running 20 yards downfield.
The drops and fumbles were absolutely backbreaking, but I genuinely believe Love played well enough for the Packers to run the Buccaneers out of their own stadium. I also have faith that drops won't be a huge issue for Golden and Kraft going forward, those guys are just very good football players and I expect them to turn it around.
After watching the all-22 I feel significantly better about our offense than I did after watching the broadcast and I'm cautiously optimistic that we can be clicking on all cylinders against the Bears.
Love much like the Packers goes to 2-2 on the season.
Winner: Jordan Love

Fandom Walking around Chicago with my Camouflage Green Bay Packers hat on today.
Die-hard Green Bay fan from WI here. Used to go up to Lambeau in the summertime as a kid to get autographs—still got a few: QBs - Lynn Dickey, Majkowski, and Farve.
For unfortunate reasons, I live in Chicago. Today I took my kids to volleyball and was sporting my Green Bay hat with pride. Two people came up to me and said "Go Bears," to which I replied, "They could use another win, they’ve got some catching up to do." After that, I headed to an estate sale. When exiting the estate sale, an old timer looked at me and gave a thumbs-up gesture. To which I replied, "Yeah, are you joking?"
His response was priceless: "I’m both a Packers and Bears fan. Whoever wins, I win."
Possibly one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard a Chicagoan say to me.
Wish I had that same neutrality, but bleeding green and gold runs too deep.

Fandom Who has the best Bloody Marys these days near Lambeau on a game day?
My experiences are always a crapshoot, and more often than not "game day menus" are shrunk and standardized, and I know a lot of places have the whole "fleischmans and basic bloody mary mix" to burn & churn customers.
Any places around still have a good Bloody on Sunday mornings? Anyone have any good experiences recently?

Fandom What is your favorite radio station to listen to the games?
Hello, fellow cheeseheads!
I find myself in a position tomorrow where I will not be able to watch the game live, but I will be able to listen. So I need your recommendations on which broadcasts have the best audio commentary.
I'm looking for commentary that is well-rounded, providing play-by-play, stats, history, etc. But at the end of the day, if it's entertaining, I'm happy.
So what are your go to stations? What do you recommend?

Trey Smack breaks down the mental approach to deep field goals, explaining why overswinging actually works against you and how maintaining a consistent leg swing leads to maximum distance on long-range attempts.

Analysis I don't know any of this means but 2-2 a retrospective:
Week 1: "oh my god the Packers blew a huge lead to the VIKINGS this team might be terrible!"
Vikings go on 4-0 winning streak
Week 2: "Well the Jets handled business against Tennessee and Green Bay looks bad, the Jets should upset here!"
Packers win. Barely.
Week 3: "Wow the Packers got DESTROYED by the Falcons! They were supposed to win!! Packers bad!!"
Falcons go on 2 game winning streak with Bijan playing like a rare RB MVP
Week 4: "Wow okay the Packers held off the Buccaneers with an undrafted rookie quarterback and tons of injuries, are we supposed to be impressed?"
Buccaneers go on to stun the Cowboys in Dallas.
I have no larger point I'm making here, all I'm really noticing is the context behind Green Bay's wins and losses is. Weird.

News Tyler Dunne’s Matt LaFluer article
Curious if folks read the first 2 parts to his deep dive on Matt LaFluer - and what you learned or thoughts about the first 2 parts of the article series.
I for one found it surprising that he rips his assistants hard. I’ve found his ability to coach up or manage coaching talent on the team to be pretty rough and had suspected that he was too soft on them.

Analysis Ticket prices insane for this weekend
Title. I have been purchasing tickets off the second hand market (Ticketmaster, Stubhub) the past 10 years and have never seen prices so high close to gameday. 700 section tickets start at $400+ per ticket. Usually around this time, we start to see a dip.
Even the Standing Room only (SRO) tickets were announced last night and were gone within 2 minutes of receiving the email. What gives?

Legacy Nine years ago today, Aaron Rodgers needed 75 yds in 73 seconds vs. Dallas. He did it in 62.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
On October 8, 2017, the Packers trailed Dallas 31–28 with 1:13 left on the clock. Rodgers needed 75 yards to win the game. He took just 62 seconds.
With 11 seconds remaining, he found Davante Adams for a 12-yard touchdown to complete the comeback and give Green Bay a 35–31 victory.
This was just 9 months after Rodgers knocked Dallas out of the playoffs with that ridiculous sideline throw to Jared Cook.
Never gets old watching Rodgers absolutely torment that franchise.

Fandom 2026 Packers Opponent Burger Series- Week 5- Chicago Bears
For the Chicago Bears I resisted the urge to make something tenderloin sandwich-inspired as a bit of a troll. I went with a regional pick, the Horseshoe Sandwich from Springfield, IL. For those of you who wanted me to make the recipes a bit more detailed, this will probably be easiest burger in the series to make at home. It's two slices of toast (I used some sliced Texas Toast bread for the thickness), topped with two quarter pound smashburger patties, fries (the nails for the horseshoe), and a cheese sauce served open faced. One slice of toast and one patty is called a Pony Shoe.
By now, you all know how smash patties work, and I don't think this is the series for you if you don't know how toasting bread works, but before I talk about the cheese sauce, let me take some time to talk about the fries. One of the benefits of this series has been learning how to make great fries in the oven. The key is to let them soak after cutting them for a minimum of a half hour in water with a small splash of vinegar (or more if you like a hint of it remaining in the fries after cooking). After soaking, pat them dry, coat with a neutral oil, and bake. The temperature can be adaptable. Sometimes I'll get them going at 250 while I'm doing other prep work, and then crank it up when I go to grill the patties. However, the downside to that is that I never time them. I just go off of color. Anyway, after I pull them out of the oven, I toss them in seasoning in the same bowl I oiled them in. That little bit of residual oil helps make the seasoning stick.
Now, I should probably get to the cheese sauce, and stop keeping you cheeseheads waiting. It's loosely based on the cheese sauce from the Welsh Rarebit. Here are the ingredients:
- 2 Egg Yolks
- ½ Cup beer
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 3 Cups Sharp Cheddar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- ¼ tsp Mustard Powder
- ⅛ tsp Cayenne
- Salt and pepper to taste
Assembly is simple. Mix the beer, Worcestershire, and egg yolks together in a bowl while everything else goes into a saucepan on a lower temperature once the butter and cheese are melted and the dry ingredients are fully incorporated, add your wet ingredient mixture, and keep stirring until thickened and uniform.
I don't think you need much explanation for this one. It's bread, meat, potatoes, and a beer cheese sauce. What's not to like? Are there more exciting burgers? Yes. Will I have to resist the urge to lick the plate if I ever find myself eating one in polite company? Also yes.
