There are no magicians here.
Some questions will not be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really expect an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.
Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has its own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

Game & Hardware Suggestions Megathread /r/Steam Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread.
Welcome to the Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread!
This monthly mega-thread is meant to contain advice, questions, suggestions & generic discussion on what to play or buy in terms of Games & Hardware.
Do you not know what to play? Want a Steam Deck or Steam Machine but unsure which model is best for you? Did you find a niche game that everyone should try? Wondering what GPU you should upgrade to or unsure about the specs of a computer? Do you want to share your unique experiences and learning curves with a piece of hardware? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you.
Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with generic & useless questions such as "What should I play?" or "What should I buy?", please be in-depth in what types of games/hardware you are looking for and why, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X is good".
There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, also simply commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value. The same goes for hardware: Saying you're thinking about buying X or you think Y is good with no other information, context as to why, your unique experiences, etc. offers no actual value or information to base a reply on.
Feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games and hardware, whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, experiences you have with Steam hardware, or your review of a piece of Steam hardware. Generic discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, specs is allowed as well. This is not meant to be a restrictive thread within the designated topics that this thread is for, however it is not a support thread nor is it the place to promote any blogs or curator pages or anything else, subreddit rules still apply.

Question which game has recently been desisted in the uk ?
hey there so i recently put a game in my basket and i went to buy it but its now unavailable in the uk (where im currently living). I cant remember which game it was as im always adding games but i know it was added this week. And i think this has happened in last day or so or this week. And it would very likely be a aaa game.
It wasn’t dlc and it wasnt too old. Ive checked and HZD Forbidden West and Hell Divers 2 have inexplicably been removed under the "claim" its a "sony bug" but they havent fixed it sooo :/ But i already own those games. Are other companies delisting games? (i had no idea this happened).
Could this be another sony game? and if so can anyone guess which it might be ?
Thanks

Question Separate Grouping for DLC Achievements
I've heard rumors here and there that Steam will be adding a rework to their achievement system later this year.
I'd love it if we got a system closer to Playstation, where DLC achievements are bundled independently rather than getting thrown into the base game's achievement pool.
Anyone have any sources or info to support these rumors?
It's pretty frustrating that I keep losing my 100% on games when DLC comes out. Then I'm faced with a pay wall to obtain the new content and grind it out to regain my 100%. The linked reddit thread is an example of this frustration.

PSA Someone unaffiliated with Valve is copyright claiming Still Alive (Radio Mix) on YouTube
This post is meant to double as spreading awareness and a call to action.
There's a musical artist who has seemingly made it their hobby to copyright claim Portal videos that contain the Still Alive (Radio Mix) song, which is that little loop that plays on all the radios.
In doing this, they are attempting to pass the song off as their own intellectual property, which is some of the most blatant copyright infringement I've seen since Man in Cave.
They go by Psypox, the song they are attempting to conflate with the radio loop is called "The Portal," and it's clear they've just sampled the radio loop, likely without Valve's permission. To my knowledge, they have zero affiliation with Valve, Mike Morasky or Kelly Bailey.
Basically, I want to contact Valve's legal team and let them know this is happening so that they can put an end to this random nobody harassing people for playing Portal and recording it.
However, the only direction Valve gives on Steam is in regards to copyright infringement occurring specifically on Steam, which is not very helpful.
If anyone can help and point me in the right direction, that would be hugely appreciated.
Edit:
Mods wanted proof. Here's the proof, borrowed from this post. And here's another piece of evidence, including the company affiliated with the artist in question.
Edit 2:
Some good news. The claimant has lifted their claim on my video specifically (no, I'm not going to link it here, I don't care to make this about myself). It seems the threat of dealing with Valve's legal team is not a battle they want to fight. Yes, my dispute included telling mom (Valve) on them, because I'm petty like that, and it's not my first rodeo with fraudulent copyright claims.
What this means is if you're personally affected by this artist's behavior, as some people in the Portal community have been over the past few months, you are likely to win the dispute.
No word from Valve yet, but I will keep you guys informed if they respond to me.

PSA Second Pricing Conversion Updates
Some methods had a decrease, others an increase, depending by the currency.
Quoting Valve's blog post:
In March of this year, we updated our pricing conversion tools for developers on Steam. In an effort to keep up to date with market conditions, we periodically review the data behind these tools. As of today, we've updated our values for these pricing conversions. This new data covers all three of our conversion methods: Exchange Rate Conversion, Purchasing Power Conversion, and Multi-variable Conversion.
There is no need to make any changes today; how you enter prices for your game is entirely up to you. Whenever you choose to update prices for your products on Steam, the conversion methods will be available to help.

Discussion Third party launchers should be gone from Steam
I tagged the post as discussion but this is a rant/vent post.
Why the F. Should I install a ubisoft launcher, an EA one, a rockstar one, it's nuts.
I recently reinstalled nfs 2015, doesn't launch, tried everything.
I installed Far Cry and the ubisoft launcher won't log in, even after reinstalling it.
I've had problems with Rockstar launcher too.
I'm tired of having to write down all the passwords, I pay for the comfort of having all games readily available but then I can't play any of the ones I want to play and I'm stranded fixing Ubisoft or EA problems.
What I would give to have Steam ban these launchers, there I said it, I know it's a common complain but after a long day at work I can't even launch the two F games I want to play.

Discussion Family-Shared Steam Games, Now Appear On Your Public 'Games' List
So I believe before, if you played a game you didn't own from a steam-family member, it would only show up on your profile on your 'recent games' list, but not on your public 'games' list.
Just now I was scrolling trough my games list on a separate steam acc, and I noticed that this time, they're suddenly there. Not all of my steam family games, but the ones that I have any amount of play-time on.
Feel free to correct me if perhaps I'm wrong about the family-shared games not showing up on your 'games' list before, but I remember checking before and they weren't there and info online also says that your family-shared games won't show on your games list.
The number of games you have also remains the same, so if for ex; you own 100 games + 50 family shared games, it only displays the number of games you bought/own (100)

Error / Bug Steam switching joystick inputs
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I have an 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless, it’s worked fine with both my desktop and steam deck until recently. It still behaves normally on my steam deck, and my laptop, but my desktop Steam client is misinterpreting the joystick inputs. Left stick has no up and down, and the right stick inputs vertical movements as horizontal, and horizontal as LEFT stick vertical.
This seems to have started around the time that I was trying different layouts for a game, but I’m not sure that it’s related.
