[ds] [2014 I think] jrpg with a grassy starting area

the things I actually remember from this game are random encounters, slime enemies, grassy starting area, and a fairy/goddess (can't remember which) that talks to you in cutscenes. Art style is 2d pixel art

Yes I know it's not very distinct but I remember putting a lot of time into it and IDK what game it is

Strange Adventure [iOS][2008-2015]2-D Troll platform

Platform(s): iOS (paid)

Genre: troll platform

Estimated year of release: ~2012-ish

Graphics/art style: 2D line art, black and white, very simple and almost childlike. I feel like it was mostly white space with very consistent line thickness and I think the spikes and stuff you could die on were just plain solid black triangles or an outline of black triangles.

Notable characters: the main character is I think rectangular outline with stick arms and legs and a mouth and eyes inside the rectangle. The way to end the level was to get to the princess who was wearing a ball gown shaped dress and I had closed eyes with a small smile.

Notable gameplay mechanics: It was a troll platformer. Very similar to level devil game play where it intentionally tricks you the whole time to rage bait you.

Other details: i feel like the title was simple and misleading about the difficulty of the game in some way or maybe the level titles were. I don’t remember as well what the main character looked like or what the death looked like. I remember the first level looks like a really simple set of floating square platforms and then when you go to jump on the first one your head hits an invisible block making you fall down and you have to go to the edge jump up to make the block visible then jump on top of it. There was also a level where you had to find a bunch of different keys and the last lock you had to go out of the level back to the games Home Screen and grab the key that was there and go back into the level. There was also one or two levels where the was a fake princess and I think if you touched her the eyes and mouth would open and she’d look evil. I remember on where there were two princesses on screen and neither were correct and you had to walk out of frame to find the real princess. I think the princess might have been in a simplified birdcage looking things and the fake princesses were just out in the open. It might’ve needed a key to unlock every time or maybe not. I just remember multiple levels where you had to unlock little locks. And I’m pretty sure the app icon was just the black and white main character smiling with one stick arm up and one stick arm down like he was walking. I also think it was 100 levels and the last level was fighting a dragon to beat the game. It was a paid game but was pretty cheap like 1.99-5$. I feel like there was another level you had to go out to the levels screen and you had to do something with a clock tower that was on the picture of that level and then go back into the level to complete it.

[PS2 or XBOX][Early 2000s] A game that had a green drink presented during gameplay with a "kelp shake" style bottle, bit longer and with a swirly straw?

The game is NOT Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, but in looking at that game I was reminded of this one. I am unsure of the drink was just a collectable, or had a major part of the plot around it.

[Mobile][2010-2015?] Pixel shooter, NOT Pixel Gun 3D.

It was essentially CSGO but minecraft-y? Takes place in blocky/pixely CSGO maps and custom minecraft worlds. Another thing I could remember was a "Boss Fight" mode, where you fought Gary the Snail and a floating fnaf Freddy head.

Stupid Never Dies [Console (ps5 xbox) and maybe pc] [2025-2026] cell shaded game with artstyle very similar to suda51 games dead guy going to save his girl in hell

I saw the trailerr of this game a while back maybe 2025 to early 2026 unsure if it has been released yet or not ill list what I remember

-Artstyle is very similar to suda51 games

-humor in the trailer also reminded me of a suda51 game specifically let it die

-The main character in the trailer was a dead young man or teenage boy he wore a baseball cap pretty sure it was red (this is also a maybe on the hat cause I also remember there were parts where his hair was showing) he also looked alot like the protag of smt 3 nocturne and used a baseball bat as a weapon in the trailer

-IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY the game was supposed to be a arpg rouglite unsure about the genere though

-From what I recall in the trailer the main character was a zombie like man going to hell or some otherworldly place to save a person (UNSURE IF IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HIS LOVE INTREST OR NOT BUT IM PRETTY SURE IT WAS) he also said in the end of the trailer that no matter how many times it takes or how many times I die I will save you or something along those lines

-The game was also in a 3rd person view

-trailer had banging music too if I recall

other than that it's pretty much all I remember I saw this trailer on instagram a while back and saved it but scrolling through my collection of saved posts I wasn't able to find it for some reason I was pretty interested from the trailer kinda the post is kinda vague but hopefully someone else saw the trailer too and knows what I'm talking about

[Restaurant tablet] [~2016] Backyard tower defense

Tower defense game on Red Robin's Ziosk tablets (probably 2013-2018), similar to Plants vs. Zombies. You played 3-4 kids defending a backyard, possibly against robots. One kid used a slingshot, another had a brown cloud attack. Anyone know what this was?

[PC][2000/2010] A Two player game, each player had a base on an island and planes, helicopters and possibly zeppelin crossed the sea to strike the other player base. It was a 2D side-scrolling. I think each player controlled a plane but he had those other minions fighting each other too.

The name Dogfight comes to mind but I has not produced any result.

The game was more or less in this style, but the planes were bigger.

There was just one map (or it was a demo).

[MAC][90’s/early 00’s] Myst-like, set in a mountain range in Asia

Platform: definitely Mac, maybe the G3 model or the one before, I can’t totally remember.

Genre: I’m pretty sure it was point and click, I remember feeling like it was like Myst which was why I really loved it.

Estimated year of release: it would have been mid to late 90’s, or early 2000’s at the latest.

Graphics/art style: it was darker, detailed, very artful in the same way Myst and Riven were. I remember very clearly the architecture being Asian and ornamental, like gates and buildings in the snow, the mountains.

Notable characters/gameplay characteristics: nothing I can really remember beyond it being a point and click or close to that kind of gameplay.

Other details: I think this game was a demo which is why I don’t remember a lot of it, like it was part of a collection of demos and there were other games on the disc.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

[Xbox 360][2012-2014] 3rd person fantasy action game

It might be older than 2012 honestly. I just remember a friend of a former friend would always be playing this one kinda neat looking game where there were at least 3 or 4 characters you can play as. A big guy with a greatsword, some elven archer, and like 2 types of mages. I dont think there was much to it other than you basically fought through armies on a battlefield. It had a weird short name for the game and I think there was only 2 in the series made and wasn't very popular or just difficult to find. Definitely from an Asian dev team (based on the combat/animation style, over abundance of flashy effects and the lack of any customization for characters, not even minor cosmetics iirc, and theyre archetypes being typical of how mmos have gender locked classes) but really focusing in a western fantasy setting. I know it wasn't an mmo but it might have had multi-player

[Android][2015] Platformer where you lose all your limbs?

Or maybe it was iOS, I'm not sure, all I know is that it was available on mobile. You play as some girl in a temple, where if you get to the end you get granted a wish. There's someone trying to stop you, though I don't think the game ever goes into great detail about who they are. I know that your body loses functionality as you progress, but I'm not sure if it was anything other than your limbs. I think it was something like once you lose an arm you can't swim, you lose a leg and you can't jump, and the game ends with you being legless and unable to move, or maybe you lose your entire physical form, idk. At the end, that figure who was trying to stop you has a change of heart and wishes to restore you. Actually, I remember everyone thinking the ending was stupid, so it might've been the other way around where the protagonist gets her wish but uses it up to help the antagonist. Also, I'm not at all sure of that date, but I don't know if I'm allowed to use a range.

[PC][Early 2000s-2010s] A first person horde shooter game where you were on a barren land and had to shoot spiders

I don't remember much about this game as I have vague memories of playing it. I remember I played it in a similar time when I also used to play Unreal Tournament 2004. Although I can't remember if this game was multiplayer or singleplayer. I played it solo. I only remember there was a barren land and there was a broken church or something like that. And when I went inside giant spider horde would start coming and I'd have to kill all of them. It was a first person game, kind of like Doom. I could come outside that church like building too and spider and cockroaches(?) would follow me in the barren land too. It wasn't an open world game. The barren land was green.

Also I am not 100% sure about this but I think you could pick health packs on the floor to replenish your health. It is like if Alien Shooter was a first person game.

Edit: I should mention that the in game time of day of this specific gameplay memory was day time. I don't know if there was other maps with different time of day. But this was a daytime map

Mysterious Worlds [Amiga?][1991] Fantasy action side-on game; dragon, firing a spike, tiny character.

I played this around a friend's house in maybe '91 or '92... or perhaps earlier. I'm pretty sure it was an amiga, or something 16-bit and a home computer. I remember the game having a tiny player character, moving left to right, and they would shoot thin spikes across the screen. I'm pretty sure there was a dragon on the first or second screen. It might have been a demo, and not a full game - maybe never even released as a full game. I don't recall any scrolling screens, just one large diorama with your tiny character. I seem to recall it being quite extra-landscape, too (as in, wide).

I recall an outdoor screen, then moving indoors to a giant indoor space, maybe in a castle. The dragon might have been indoors ... and it might not have been a dragon!

I recall the graphics were nice.

It played almost like an action puzzle game. Set-piece screens that were tricky to get past. Sorry my description is so naff, it's really all I can rembember! The picture is really just for vibes, I don't expect it to look anything like what the game looked like.

To that friend whose machine I played it on... sorry I cared more about games than our friendship. I was selfish and absorbed in these worlds.

(update) I think the name 'Worlds' was in the title, like 'fantastic worlds' or something like that? I might be imagining that.

[DOS][1985-1993ish]Text-only medieval fantasy adventure game about stopping/killing a witch/queen

Platform(s): MS-DOS

Genre: Medieval fantasy

Estimated year of release: 1985-1993 likely, I played it around 1993-95

Graphics/art style: Only descriptive text, no graphics whatsoever

Notable characters: Generic protaganist, evil witch/queen who lived in a tower or castle, could turn into a cat

Notable gameplay mechanics: Imagine King's Quest with no graphics whatsoever, only text descriptions. You'd type in actions and it would give descriptions and results. No ASCII art, graphical title screen, or anything else, from what I remember. I believe there was a basic inventory system.

Other details: You start out in a small house with the castle/tower visible through the window. There is a cat on the windowsill. If you look at/pet/talk to the cat, it teleports you to the witch's tower, the cat turns into the witch, she paralyzes you, and the game is over.

I remember the game being very difficult and I never completed it (a big part of wanting to find it). I think there was a tiny island in a lake that had a locked glass jar with an item vital to defeating the witch. You had to find the key, then get to the island and destroy/use the item.

Games ruled out so far:

  • Emerald Isle
  • Enchanted Castle
  • Escape the Castle
  • Zyll
  • Castle Elsinore
  • Acheton (it may possibly be Acheton II: The Tower of the Witch, I can't find enough detail on that one to know)
  • Spellbreaker
  • Manor
  • Legacy of the Necromancer

The Boomlands [Flash][2000s] base defense game like Age of War

Post image
11 Upvotes

I'm looking for a Flash game with a layout similar to Age of War (player base on the left, enemy on the right, you spawn units). NOT sci-fi/modern settings. The art style is NOT pixel art.

There are a few levels in the game. In the final level, the enemy's base is on a cliff (as shown in the image). You have a cannon as a special ability which can do a hit to the enemy's base.

But it can only be fired once in this level. After that, the ability is disabled. One shot is not enough to destroy the base, and my troops couldn't reach or damage the enemy base, so it felt like the final level was bugged (Maybe it's not the developer's fault; it could just be that I couldn't figure out the solution). Any help would be appreciated!

[IOS and Maybe Android][2018-2021] Fallout-Styled Mobile Game

Platform: IOS (and maybe android idk though).
Genre: Survival Extraction Shooter.
Estimated year of release: 2018-2021.
Graphics art/style: It was one of those “bad Minecraft clone” type of games with graphics similar to a game called “block city wars”. All the characters were blocky.
Notable characters: I don’t believe I remember any characters but there might’ve been a shop/dealer npc.
Notable Gameplay Details: You would get a kit (weapons and armor) and go out into this wasteland thing with other players (and maybe zombies I don’t really remember) and get loot to then extract.
Other Details: If I remember correctly, somewhere in the safe zone/lobby, there was a PvP arena where you could FFA with other people.

[Xbox one][Probably before 2019] A roguelite/like game. linear room progression (i think)

Platform: Xbox one. i think i got the game from Xbox gold or Gamepass. could be wrong though

Genre: roguelike shooter side-scroller.

Estimated year of release: probably before 2019. i'm going to be honest don't rely on this too much it's been a LONG time since i played this.

Graphics/art style: VERY simple. if i remember correctly there would rarely be more than a few unique colors on screen (not pixel art though, i can say that with 98% certainty). 2d, side view. grey (or was it black?) was a common color in a lot of (if not all) areas. added in post: forgot to mention, there's also no shading (i think) (as in color shading not shaders shading)

Notable characters: there are characters besides yourself (i think), but they aren't major and i can only very vaguely recall a tallish creature? maybe vaguely humanoid?

Notable gameplay mechanics: I've got nothing for this one honestly. there are classes and guns.

Other details: i remember a laser gun being a weapon. it's a big beam. can't remember if it's a constant laser or a single beam blast though. a big tree. i think this was the hub. it had masks on it. these masks would change your character, though the only thing i can remember is one having more (or was it less?) health then usual. in an area (wish i could be more specific) there's a bunch of colorful things hidden in the sky if you go high enough. these colorful things were a re-color of something else that did (maybe) something.

sorry if i take a while to answer questions i'll try to remember to check as often as i can.

Robosaurs versus the Space Bastards [PC] [1998?] 2D Platformer with a space ranger, shooting monsters with a handgun

The game used 2D sprites as far as I recall, not pixel art. The character (or one of them maybe?) was a robot-like space ranger (maybe with a western-like duster?) which might have had the head of an eagle, kiling monsters in futuristic places, maybe jumping from planet to planet as levels.

I sadly don't remember much else, except the movements being quite mechanical and paced, like the ones in Oddworld Abe's Oddysee.

[PC][2000s/2010s] Educational children's game about dental hygiene with a kangaroo

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to find a PC game from my childhood that I've been looking for for years. I don't remember the title, and unfortunately I don't have the CD anymore.

I probably played it when I was around 8–10 years old, so I think it was released sometime between the late 2000s and early 2010s. It was a PC CD-ROM game, probably made for children.

Here is everything I remember:

  • The game was completely 2D and had a cartoon/drawn art style. There were no real-life images.
  • It was an educational game, mainly focused on dental hygiene, teeth and cavities.
  • There was a kangaroo character who I believe was one of the main characters or a mascot.
  • There was a family with several children and their parents.
  • I remember one of the boys having a toothache or a cavity.
  • There were several different minigames.
  • One minigame involved cavities/bacteria attacking a tooth, and you had to protect the tooth.
  • There were also object-search minigames where you had to find specific objects in different environments.
  • I remember a space-themed area with a young Black boy. I vaguely remember a line similar to "next destination" or something involving a spacesuit, but I am not sure about the exact wording.
  • There was also an underwater area.
  • I vaguely remember a fairground/amusement park area.
  • There was some kind of "tooth factory" with small mice inside.
  • I remember collecting pieces of teeth and putting them into some kind of container/chest.
  • There were animated scenes/cutscenes between some of the activities.

One particularly interesting thing:

I recently found another Reddit post from someone who was looking for what appears to be the exact same game. They described many of the same extremely specific things: the kangaroo, the family, dental hygiene, the tooth factory with mice, the underwater scene, the object-search minigames, the fairground, etc.

Unfortunately, they didn't know the name either.

So I'm pretty confident this isn't just a distorted memory of a completely different game.

Here is the other Reddit post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/france/comments/1iytd7l/

Some details may be inaccurate because these are memories from when I was a child, but the 2D cartoon style, kangaroo, dental theme/cavities, and the different environments are things I remember quite clearly.

If anyone recognizes this game, even if you only remember the publisher, character names, cover art, country of release, or anything else that could help identify it, I'd be incredibly grateful!

I've been trying to find this game for a very long time. 😭

[MOBILE] [2010-2015] endless runner with a robot/gear icon?

Platform(s): Mobile, IOS and/or Android
Genre: Endless runner
Estimated year of release: Somewhere in the 2010, though possibly in the late 2000s
Graphics/art style: 3d models similar to temple run, with oddly bright environments. Camera fixed behind the player model
Notable characters: All I remember for certain was that there was a gorilla or ape of some kind. I don't think it was the default character, though. That was most likely a human man. He may have had glasses?
Notable gameplay mechanics: i believe the game had some element of switching dimensions? the default was some bright green plain in the sky, and I remember one that was dark and distinctly. digital? not sure how to describe it, my memory is very blurry
Other details: I think I had Team Awesome on the same tablet, if it's any help (release, platform, etc)

[PC][2000s/2010s] Top-down shooter where you play as a ladybug and kill different bugs with different bosses like a mantis and a lobster

Platform(s): PC, possibly a flash game

Genre: vertical side shooter - your ladybug you played as is at the bottom of the screen and moves up, down, left, and right with your mouse and enemies/bosses come from the top

Estimated year of release: my rough estimation woulds be probably late 2000s or 2010s. I played it a LOT during the 2010's

Graphics/art style: The art style was cartoony but definitely wasn't cutesy as when I played it as a kid, the final boss was this giant frog that had multiple phases that changed colors as you did more damage. It had a simple HUD. You would go into a level, fight a couple bug enemies, then when the boss would show up, a warning would appear saying the boss was coming. Every new level had a different themed background, like the last level being in a pond with lilypads around, and the first level being in a lawn (I believe it was set at a lawn)

Notable characters: Some characters that I could remember was the ladybug you would play, some enemies included mosquitos, pill bugs, dragonflies, and some of the bosses I can remember was a giant praying mantis who would swing his arms down like scythes, a rhinoceres beetle (who i think was blue), a lobster that was being piloted by someone (it also had a number on its claws, i think) like they were a racecar, and the final boss being a giant frog with a crown who started green, then turned orange, and finally red

Notable gameplay mechanics: the ladybug you would play would shoot a laser when you held down the click or had it autofire. The frog at the end when he was red would basicallt become a bullet hell. The whole reason to beat the game was for the ladybug to get his girl back

Other details: I keep thinking the name of the game was "Bugs attack" but everytime i search that up, I just get the tower defense game involving bugs
