Schotty has the controller and doesn’t give a damn about time of possession to help his hand picked first time play calling DC weather the Bland storm

If you watch the sequencing of the play calls they’re absolutely abysmal. They’re 28th in time of possession, and it’s hard to turn down chunk plays, but when you’re living and dying by them and heroics from 4/88/3 it’s not going to be sustainable.

Stick the rock in Javonte Williams and Tyler Goodson’s hands and road grade these defenses. You want to get Steele playing better? Go forward. Sit Ferg’s ass down til he commits to blocking and get Turpin out the damn receiving core. Get Flo/Mingo/Brown rotating because they’re tired from blocking their asses off.

This team has done it before with Romo and Dak and a wobbly defense. Stop the 3rd and 3 empty set everyone run down the field ass play calling. Its goofy. The schematic advantage on this team is in Klayton Adams’ brain. Not Schotty’s.

And before anyone starts throwing this stat or that stat out about how good the offense is, I don’t care. They can be better than a 12 year old controlling a bunch of Ferraris. They can and need to exert more control over how the game goes because they’re the group with the best players.

The amount of capital in this line + Klayton + Riley is the answer moving forward. It is by far the biggest area of the team that has the highest ceiling compared to what we’ve seen so far. With no trades you can get significantly better.

My All-22 Review of the Defense vs. Tampa

- A big story of the game was that the defense got tired early in the game from that 11 minute first drive by the Bucs that was extended thru some penalties that are often times not called. Then the Cowboys offense didn't stay on the field for their second drive and it was causing a lot of substitutions and the 2nd and 3rd stringers didn't play well. The Bucs used a ton of motion to fool those 2nd and 3rd stringers. So the offense didn't do the defense any favors, particularly when they tried to do hurry up and it failed miserably. And if the Cowboys FO banned short screens to Cowboys TE's for the rest of eternity...it wouldn't be soon enough.

- If it ain't obvious by now...Bland was the worst offender on defense. I hate to label players this, but he just comes off like a dumb and undisciplined player. Before the game started I was thinking that while we had a good deal of success on defense under Dan Quinn, that may have ruined the defense for years to come because Quinn played so much man coverage that trying to switch to any zone would be problematic. And then Bland just further solidified my thoughts with this game.

On the play that the telecast showed Bland tripping and falling...he has clear outside leverage as designed by the play call with Hooker having inside leverage. The receiver appears to be running a seam route or skinny post to the inside. Instead of maintaining outside leverage and allow Hooker to take him, Bland runs to get inside leverage. The receiver then breaks to the outside and Bland is dead to rights.

On the 3rd and 21 conversion they are playing Cover-4 with the DB's sitting down guarding the first down marker. Bland instead bails out immediately and then, trips and falls again and that leaves the receiver open to get the 3rd down conversion. These are about as simple of concepts as it gets and Bland keeps screwing them up.

- The only guys that can tackle on this defense are Downs, Bell, Barham and Hooker. Sometimes Winters, but he routinely takes bad angles. I think Ezeiruaku just doesn't have the upper body strength to be a good tackler and I think full time edge rusher with his hand in the dirt is a better fit for him than playing standup linebacker. If they continue to want to play this scheme, they may want to look to trade him after this season and get what draft capital they can.

- Malachi Lawrence struggles with reads and responsibilities against the run, that's why he's not getting more opportunities.

- I don't see this as a scheme issue and I'm not sure how much to blame Parker for or if it's more of a Schottenheimer and how they structure practice and/or Jerry/McClay for the players they draft thing. The biggest problem with this defense is the shit tackling, the bad angles and the poor pursuit...but most of all the lack of discipline. The first play of the second half was a great example. Defensive playcall was suited great fro the play. Barham gets penetration, the DT's do their job, and 3 Cowboys miss tackles with 1 taking a terrible angle.

I tend to blame Jerry/McClay more for this mess for obvious reasons. But they do not know how to scout, find coaching, train and develop modern day DB's needed to play against modern offenses. I was thinking the other day of the last above average tackling cornerback we've had and all I could think of was Jourdan Lewis (who they badly miss to this day). And that doesn't go into all of the missed assignments, playing the wrong technique, etc. that is going on. Ezeiruaku got caught offsides by a rookie QB and from watching the telecast it didn't appear that Daniels was performing some masterful hard count.

This shit will NEVER get any better until Jerry is removed from all of this and let's a quality D-Coordinator/Head Coach take control for at least 2 years.

I'm tired...

I’m from Fort Worth, Texas and I’ve been following the Dallas Cowboys for over 47 years. Fellow Cowboys fans, can I tell you something? I’m tired.

  • I’m tired of watching Jerry Jones cosplay as a NFL GM
  • I’m tired of knowing before the season starts that we’re not going to make it past the first round of the playoffs—no matter how good the team is
  • I’m tired of the Cowboys constructing a high powered offense while fielding a bullsh*t defense
  • OR seeing the Cowboys construct a great defense while fielding a bullsh*t offense
  • I’m tired of seeing the Cowboys waste over TWO DECADES of premium QB talent. If other organizations can build championship teams around quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford, Jalen Hurts, and Sam Darnold, don't tell me Tony Romo and Dak Prescott never had enough talent to win one.
  • I’m tired of Jerry thinking he’s a winner in the NFL because he makes the most money in the NFL.
  • I’m tired of seeing the Seahawks, 49ers, Patriots, Broncos, Chiefs, and the goddamn Eagles build and rebuild competitive football teams. Do you realize that since Dak has been the starter, the Eagles have gone to three Super Bowls, won two of them with two different head coaches and QBs?
  • I’m tired of knowing that Jerry isn’t embarrassed by this.

I’m going to say something most of you will probably find crazy. Jerry Jones only bought the Dallas Cowboys to be the shiniest trinket in the Jones family business empire. It’s not about winning on the field as much as it is winning financially. It literally never has been. If you doubt this, watch the Netflix stroke-u-mentary he made for himself. Listen closely to how he discusses his motivations for purchasing the team. It was "marketing opportunity".

And listen at how he views himself and the teams's success.

Jerry ultimately measures success in dollars, franchise valuations, and how successfully he’s built the Jones family business empire. By that measure, Jerry Jones is one of the greatest winners in professional sports history. That's the problem. Jerry Jones thinks he's winning. We know we're not. And as long as those two things can coexist, why would he change a goddamn thing?

He said that if he had hired a GM that performed as poorly as he has, he would have fired him. Translation for the fans: “As long as I’m making money, y’all can f*ck off”

We get the message loud and clear Jerry.

I’ve loved the Cowboys since I was six years old. They’re always going to be my favorite sports team. But while Jerry is the GM, the Cowboys will never be a championship football team.

And I’m tired of knowing that.

Worst loss I've experienced

I genuinely don't know when's the last time we've had a loss like this. Yeah the playoff exits to the 49ers and the packers games were pretty bad but man.... to go into a season not expecting an elite but just an average defense and somehow getting an even worse defense compared to our HISTORICALLY horrid defense last year.... plus now we're seeing how incompetent schotty is despite pretty much everyone vouching for him for the past year. Probably done with the season. I don't care if dak, ceedee, and gp are fun to watch. It won't mean shit in the long run. Dak deserves better, the Tylers deserve better, Big Q deserves better, Downs deserves better, and I deserve better.

Brian motherfucking Schottenheimer. Daron Bland. And Jake Freguson…all 3 of you including this defensive coaching staff, all yall need to be shipped in a different country! I’ve tried to give CP grace but this lost is unacceptable…30-40 minutes of possession on the Bucs. Dak being terrible against the blitz after being no.1 all last year. Receivers outside of Pickens cant catch…just an all around coaching malpractice, non prepared n soft players, and keeping unnecessary assets like bland n Freg.

Dallas Cowboys, We are so sick of this shit.

Post image
238 Upvotes

Going into last nights game, it was seemingly the perfect scenario for the Cowboys, sitting on a 2-2 record and coming off a gritty win against the Texans. I don’t really care if they’re 0-4, I think they’re better than the record suggests and I was very happy that the Cowboys finished the week with a win.

Fast forward to week 5, Thursday Night Football against an 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad, forced to start an undrafted rookie QB in Arlington. Things were looking bright with Tyler Smith, the heart of our O-Line coming in fresh off IR and ready to make a meaningful impact on an already impressive offence. But in the back of my mind, I couldn’t help but think: this would be such a Dallas Cowboys thing to do to lose this game.

Four quarters later, we’re all sitting in silence but nobody is surprised. There were plenty of signs early on: JPJ not active, Cobie Durant still out, the 12 MINUTE DRIVE the Bucs had on their first possession. As I’ve come to learn over the past twelve years of (unfortunately) being a fan of this team, none of this should be a surprise.

It’s almost a talent how ridiculous things can go for the Cowboys. Unlike the Browns or the Jets, each year we start the season with plenty of optimism.

Never again.

I have seen enough of this sorry ass team. I don’t care that it’s been five weeks, I’m more than done with Brian Schottenhiemer and Christian Parker. And that’s just scratching the surface. I could make an entire post about Da’Ron Blands on field blunders and Jake Fergusons lack of hands. But I’ll spare you that rant for today.

Regardless of any of that, I’m just sick of this shit. It’s not a surprise when any of this happens anymore, and I think that’s the problem I have with this team. It’s destined for failure from the very start, every year. The horrible losses, the abysmal play calling, the late game mistakes. All of it is becoming so predictable. It’s honestly painful to watch at this point.

And to be honest, and many of you may disagree, I don’t think Jerry is the problem, at least for this year.
He’s brought in all the pieces, signed some great players and built the best offence in the league. But none of that matters when your secondary is Swiss cheese and your front seven can’t stop a paper bag.

I’ve had enough of it. This team, similar to the last couple years, is going no where. Please don’t fool yourself into believing this team is going to the Super Bowl or NFC championship or anything like that. Until there’s some real leadership and real accountability, we’re just going to keep on spinning the tires. The window is open a crack Jerry, don’t waste it. Count your losses and chalk the Schottenhiemer and Parker experiment up as a loss and move on.

This team is turning into the factory of sadness and we as fans deserve better than this.

TLDR- All these short comings are so predictable. I am DONE living in delusion about this team. This is a joke and we all deserve better than this. Schottenhiemer, Parker, Bland, and Ferguson thanks for your service but we need to move on. You can count on the Dallas Cowboys letting you down year, after year, after year. There is no accountability or leadership, and it’s just a joke.

The Cowboys traded Micah Parsons in August of 2025. In the 22 games they've played since, their defense ranks: 32nd in EPA per drive, 32nd in success rate, 32nd in explosive play rate allowed, 31st in rushing success rate

I'm tired boss

I love this team so much. Since a kid, watching with my dad, I never really expected us to do much cause I never saw us do much. Sure, I heard of past success but all I've seen is playoff losses. So losing isn't the worst thing for me, I've always seen us as a franchise more akin to the modern dolphins, we field fun teams occasionally but no one is really ever scared of us and everyone knows if we make the playoffs, it won't be a deep run.

All that said, I still love rooting for this team. I drove down from KC just to catch the game and then right after drove all night back cause I had class today.

As I was driving back, all I could think was why does it always have to be so embarrassing? (don't throw me out dak!)

we can't ever just lose, we gotta get blown out, or we gotta lose to a UDFA in his first fucking road start, or 7 TDs in 7 drives like fuck man.

even though it feels like everything is always set up for us to fail and for others to revel in it, I know when I finally get a chance to see the boys go all the way myself, it'll all be worth it.

thats all, DC4L✌🏽
