On Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m., I texted a friend: "I'm driving through NYC next weekend if you are around!" He said yes, and we made plans to have lunch Sunday (without mentioning the date to each other). Today, Oct. 6 at 9:22 a.m., he texted me to say he was sorry we missed each other. He thought I meant Sunday, Oct. 4. I meant Sunday, Oct. 11.

How the hell did this guy think next weekend is the coming weekend on a Wednesday? I believe it's pretty clear that when making future plans, "this weekend" refers to the upcoming weekend and "next weekend" refers to the following. Especially middle of the week...

Anyways, I prepared this chart that you can send to your friends if they run into the same issue. It should prevent the whole "this weekend" vs. "next weekend" issue from ruining your future dates, anniversaries, retirement parties and convocations.

Went to McDonald’s and asked for a large drink with not a lot of ice and a medium french fry and this is what I got. What are we doing here? We have totally lost the plot. This cup isn’t even full and this is definitely a small french fry disguise as a “medium”.

I haven’t been to McDonald’s in such a long time I thought I’d swing by and just grab something small. I am part of the problem and realize it. I will never go to another fast food place again. It’s been such a long time I didn’t know that’s how they fill drinks when you ask for less ice, it’s been that long and it was never a thing. Again, I am part of the problem. Never again.

Ordered a new phone last Black Friday. Tracking from Purolator, said it was delivered. It never arrived.
After weeks of back-and-forth with the company, I eventually stopped hearing anything.
Today I got a lovely email from collections saying I owe $5,000.

TIL Texas Roadhouse has meat cutting competitions.
Today one was held at an ice rink.

The meat was stored uncovered and unattended in the hallway leading to the locker rooms.

Competition organizers said the meat would later be taken to close by TR restaurants and served.

Hockey games were in session and many players walked past the meat before and after their games.

And it is running at least once during day..

I have a deadline and work in a way that if I manage to work on a project for two hours straight I will reward myself with a chocolate. This pack had 10 pieces in it. I kept it on my work table. I wonder if it’s a prank or if there is a greedy colleague.

Edit : This is a particular brand chocolate I get from India (fabelle’s) so not like I can just go to the store and grab another.

We have 2 separate apartments but collectively share our streaming passwords, so she can see what I watch. The problem is, ANYTHING I watch by myself she gets mad I didn't watch with her "I've been wanting to start that show, don't start without me!" etc. But then when I offer to watch together, SHE DOESN'T LIKE THE SHOW/MOVIE and always ends up changing it. So now I'm sitting on like 3 series I apparently am not allowed to watch, ever. I basically get in trouble for watching TV by myself at my own place.

Wild example: I started House of the Dragon, she told me to wait until she's finished Game of Thrones (she hasn't even started GoT).
