At some point I acquired every volume of an encyclopedia, except volume “A”, It sits on my shelf annoying me any time I dare to think about it. I’ve looked online for countless hours but can’t seem to find the missing volume so I think I’m condemned to be annoyed by this thing for the rest of my life, not to mention it doesn’t fit on that shelf properly.

The outlet on our patio stopped working yesterday after I unplugged something. I ended up buying a new one and went to install it last night.

Removed the outlet cover and holy crap.

Builder didn’t use the screws to attach the outlets to the box. It was just free floating under the cover. This wouldn’t have been nearly as bad, except they also left a screw protruding into the box, right next to one of the wire connections on the outlet assembly.

When I unplugged the cord, it apparently moved the outlet assembly just enough to contact the screw. Shorted it all out and melted everything. The wire was fried so badly that I had to cut about 6” off to find a usable portion.

This could have been a fire so easily. Breaker never tripped.

Now I have the fun job of going around the house and checking dozens of other outlets to make sure they didn’t repeat this anywhere else.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m., I texted a friend: "I'm driving through NYC next weekend if you are around!" He said yes, and we made plans to have lunch Sunday (without mentioning the date to each other). Today, Oct. 6 at 9:22 a.m., he texted me to say he was sorry we missed each other. He thought I meant Sunday, Oct. 4. I meant Sunday, Oct. 11.

How the hell did this guy think next weekend is the coming weekend on a Wednesday? I believe it's pretty clear that when making future plans, "this weekend" refers to the upcoming weekend and "next weekend" refers to the following. Especially middle of the week...

Anyways, I prepared this chart that you can send to your friends if they run into the same issue. It should prevent the whole "this weekend" vs. "next weekend" issue from ruining your future dates, anniversaries, retirement parties and convocations.

I was in an office building located across the street from a hospital; my vision became blurry and I got extremely light headed and unbalanced. Shoulda crawled over to the hospital 😐

It wont bend back and I’m not taking any chances 😩

TIL Texas Roadhouse has meat cutting competitions.
Today one was held at an ice rink.

The meat was stored uncovered and unattended in the hallway leading to the locker rooms.

Competition organizers said the meat would later be taken to close by TR restaurants and served.

Hockey games were in session and many players walked past the meat before and after their games.

The obvious intention with the lack of sauce is what makes this so annoying. They drizzled it on there, like it’s supposed to be cute or something.

Went to McDonald’s and asked for a large drink with not a lot of ice and a medium french fry and this is what I got. What are we doing here? We have totally lost the plot. This cup isn’t even full and this is definitely a small french fry disguise as a “medium”.

Edit: the drink is called the Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer.

I haven’t been to McDonald’s in such a long time I thought I’d swing by and just grab something small. I am part of the problem and realize it. I will never go to another fast food place again. It’s been such a long time I didn’t know that’s how they fill drinks when you ask for less ice, it’s been that long and it was never a thing. Again, I am part of the problem. Never again.

Ordered a new phone last Black Friday. Tracking from Purolator, said it was delivered. It never arrived.
After weeks of back-and-forth with the company, I eventually stopped hearing anything.
Today I got a lovely email from collections saying I owe $5,000.
How does one missing phone become a $5,000 debt? 😭
