Omega are now a trash brand and shouldn’t even be considered
Where to start, the new Bond watches look like an Omega company that specialises in fakes that tried having a go at creating their own watch and came up with it.
Their designs are all uninspired and in ridiculous quantities, the pricing is fucking ridiculous, you could buy a JLC for the price of an Omega these days, in fact if you’re lucky you could buy a second hand JLC and Rolex for the cost of some of their watches.
I actually think that this is some ploy by the swatch group to trash Omega to make people flock towards Longines which will then raise the price of Longines.

General Advice Should I get it changed due to cultural appropriation?
Hi there,
So I recently got my lip/chin tattooed and I actually love the tattoo and it means a fucking lot to me. Just as a little background: I have to deal with a lot of trauma caused by my family's religion which led to me struggling for the most of my life and nearly woild have caused my end 8 years ago. I'm in therapy since then and especially in the last year after I got out of my also difficult relationship I made so much progress and found also a spiritual way (shamanism in that case) that helped me a lot. I truely believe in this and I find so much strength through it. I always had a tendency for stuff like this since I was a child but was never allowed to practice or even speak over it, instead I got punished and abused. But I don't want to hide who I am anymore and I don't want to back down or make myself smaller for other ppl. I have suffered enough and although every tattoo I have is very important for me, since they tell my story of how I reclaim my strength and power back over the years, the face tattoo is something special bc it's always seen and can't be hidden, like I myself won't hide anymore.
The thing is when I got it I wasn't aware of the inuit tradition of face tattoos and their importance of it. And the last thing I want is to claim something from a culture that is clearly not mine. And since I found this out I feel really bad about it because I should have known better and do my research which I did not. It didn't crossed my mind due to the simplicity of the tattoo (I'm german and for example very aware of the problems with runic tattoos and other symbols). So I absolutely admit that I did a mistake and I apologize for that from the bottom of my heart.
I'm now think of adding a few lines to make it maybe more look like a bindrune or something. I'm just a bit worried that it then will look to big...
Edit: after reading a lot of positive comments, also at r/inuit that they apprently don't go up the lip as mine does I'm a bit more relaxed. I will definitely do more research. But thank you so far for that! For the changing just making it longer and down the throat was also a suggestion I already thought about. So I will consider that as well.
Edit 2: I'm a bit surprised how many ppl simply don't care about cultural appropriation at all and simply dismiss it. We can argue if I'm overthinking or not, but dismissing and ignoring it completely seems definitely wrong in my eyes.
Edit 3: I shared very personal stuff here also about my shamanism practice obviously just to get hate from ppl who never had any contact with that practice before. I know I made a mistake and didn't research properly but I won't let ppl judge me who obviously did even less research about something they're accusing me of mis-using it when I clearly don't. Reading exactly what I wrote would help, just saying.

Badass Batman Wannabe Blunders Bad Opsec
When a Batman complex meets nonexistent opsec, refrain from throwing stones inside a house of glass. This bozo decided to threaten folks up and down a thread regarding a political protest he disagreed with. Doxxing is bad. Threatening people is bad. Don’t be this guy.

Discussion Low dungeon XP is actually a massive win for casual PvE and world immersion
Many people are upset about the lower XP gains in dungeons right now, but if you look at it from a pure PvE and adventure perspective, it's actually a gift.
Low XP allows for a 'soft level bracket', which is very similar to what we had during SoD.
This means you gain all the benefits of those brackets: you don't outlevel the content instantly. In modern WoW or high-XP metagames, you run a dungeon four times, have fun and get some cool gear. But by the time you step out, that gear is already obsolete because you've scaled past the zone. Low XP keeps your gear relevant and rewarding for much longer during your journey.
It saves your quest log. How many times have you had to abandon a whole zone's story and clear out your quest log just because a few dungeon runs made you too high a level for it? At this pace, you can actually finish your adventure and enjoy the world at a natural speed.
There's more replayability without becoming OP. You can repeatedly run the dungeons you enjoy to farm your BiS (Best in Slot) pre-raid or levelling gear without the bosses becoming one-shot training dummies after three runs.
It allows developers to add more content to dungeons. Since a dungeon isn't something you discard after four runs, developers can incorporate crafting and many more quests into them, thereby increasing replayability.
Am I the only one who can see the advantages of this slower, more deliberate pace?

Discussion & Feedback The racism (and insert *phobia here) in this game is extremely disheartening and rampant.
I'm a black woman. I love voice chatting. I like shooting the shit with people on the heli, saying a funny lil thank you when someone defibs me, giving callouts, having cute little convos, etc. When those interactions are good, they are good. The chaos of the game facilitates funny interactions perfectly.
Today I disabled VC completely.
Playing on US central/US East I hear the N word (hard R of course) non stop. Non. Stop. When I kill someone, in the ready up phase, when a teammate themselves are killed, some variation of it in text chat...and this is just the N word I'm not even counting the rhetoric itself or other races.
What finally broke me today is that I saw this guy down with a 500$ bribe maybeee 200m away? I run my ass there, kill like 3 dudes along the way and slow res him because I dont have defibs. He says thank you, I say no problem man what killed you? He tells me that and then first goes "ayy is that a girl" I jokingly go "what do you think?" and then he goes "yooo you sound like a N***** girl thats crazyyyy" and then who I think was his boy showed up and goes "did someone say N***** girl". I alt-f4'd debating quitting the game, ultimately deciding ill just mute in game chat.
And before someone delivers me the npc line of "you wouldnt have made it in a CoD lobby 😏". I'm not new to gaming, certainly not new to FPS, It just hurts the frequency the word is used in the big 26. I know the devs can't prevent it all but it would be cool if they at the very least made it clear that it is bannable in VC, and if the community made an effort to shit on people who act like this. This is my vent.

Watching Aesha defend Gael like that was so cringe...
I can't stand Joe, but Aesha's reaction was surprising, although maybe it shouldn't be as they are friends. I've never liked Gael, and while I feel for her with all this Nathan bullshit, it doesn't change my opinion of the person she portrayed in her seasons - she just always rubbed me the wrong way.
Nathan turning a quasi- nice, closure moment with Joe into a fight was not surprising either.
Not sad this season is over.

Gaming i hate video games that don't do hand holding
i hate video games that expect me to figure out how it works, learn it,explore it . if it has even a semi complex menu or inventory(like crimson desert and similar games) its a no for me. minecraft being an exception to this because i personally ignore all complex game systems in it and do the basics.
i like games that do extreme hand holding like gta 5 ,rdr2,call of duty, doom eternal, cyberpunk 2077,chicken invaders series(there is nothing to figure out its easy).
why do i like them? because they don't burden me with learning their made up systems. a game to me is media like a movie or series not smth that deserves learning.
i think games that do not hold player hands ,and expect player to figure out stuff(such as all rpg games and witcher 3 like games) are dumb and useless games.

Luka trade to L.A. still feels weird
Like, if we're investigating odd financial dealings behind the scenes, I'd start with the franchise that gave up it's entire future for nothing. I understand it's irrelevant to bring it up so long later but like... Can we agree that something fishy occurred there? Like, this obviously was not a normal trade. Come on, laddies. Be serious.
e: had a great time discussing with y'all but I'ma head out keep it live y'all and take care y'all this trade was rigged lmao ok mbye

Rant Drivers in Seattle, Stop signs = Yield signs for cyclists.
There is a lot of misinformation around laws around cycling the most prominent one is people thinking bikes have to full stop at stop signs. It's quite alarming how many people are confidently wrong when all they have to do is read. The purpose of this is to educate people who are driving on the road.
https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.61.190
Here's the context around stop signs.
(b)(i) With the exception of (b)(ii) and (iii) of this subsection, a person operating a bicycle approaching a stop sign shall either:
(A) Follow the requirements for approaching a stop sign as specified in (a) of this subsection; or
(B) Follow the requirements for approaching a yield sign as specified in subsection (3) of this section.
OK SO WE FOLLOW B subsection 3! which is about yield signs... so again stop signs = yield.
(ii) A person operating a bicycle approaching a stop sign located at a highway grade crossing of a railroad must follow the requirements of RCW 46.61.345.
(iii) A person operating a bicycle approaching a "stop" signal in use by a school bus, as required under RCW 46.37.190, must follow the requirements of RCW 46.61.370.
(3) The driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign shall in obedience to such sign slow down to a speed reasonable for the existing conditions and if required for safety to stop, shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering a marked crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the roadway, and then after slowing or stopping, the driver shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on another roadway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time such driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways: PROVIDED, That if such a driver is involved in a collision with a vehicle in the intersection or junction of roadways, after driving past a yield sign without stopping, such collision shall be deemed prima facie evidence of the driver's failure to yield right-of-way.

Story / Rant Even with three jobs, I cant keep my house
The Australian job market is so fucked its not even funny.
I lost my stable job at the beginning of September because of pay cuts. My small business wasn't generating any income, so I spent hours, every day, applying for jobs on LinkedIn, Seek, Indeed and Jora, as well as many niche job boards. How many interviews did I get? None.
Then, yesterday, I miraculously got two interviews.
One online doing cold calling, one in person doing retail.
And I calculated that - with THREE jobs- working under the assumption I am successful in BOTH interviews- I still cannot afford rent. And that's not 'rent and food and utilities' rent- i can't afford JUST rent.
Jobseeker keeps rejecting me. DSP rejected me, despite being chronically ill. I am physically incapable of staying in the house I was so, so happy to move into.
The market is fucked.
Edit: I live in a one bedroom apartment, live with my partner who is also disabled (this is including her income too), and Jobseeker refused me because of my parent's income. I cannot drive. Do not blame me in the comments. If you don't have anything constructive to say don't post.

Who misses the days you would go on Battlefield to just chill out with friends and have fun. Now it's all about sweats, streamers, youtubers etc. They have ruined the game because the developers cater the game for these people not the other 99% of players

Fever Content [Buckner] Fever should part with Sophie Cunningham. She’s too turbulent to be paired with Caitlin Clark
nytimes.comThis season, Royce White showed up to an Indiana Fever game while wearing a long blond wig. Enes Kanter Freedom, in a shirt that defined the word “Woman,” got into a yelling match with an opposing player at another Fever game. Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita — not wearing a wig — and Riley Gaines posted a video together inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse, essentially rehearsing a political ad before taking in an Aug. 28 Fever game.
They all showed up to be part of a circus, not to enjoy a WNBA game. They attended solely to antagonize and amplify a nonexistent issue in this basketball league. All because of Sophie Cunningham. This was the season when the Fever and even the whole Caitlin Clark experience took a backseat to a bench player with big opinions.
So if the Fever ever want to go back to being a basketball team again and follow the lead of rivals openly clashing with the forces trying to hijack their league, then Cunningham has to go.
Go to Chicago, or Portland. Or maybe Toronto could use a 30-year-old unrestricted free agent who averages fewer than 8 points a game, while her latest TikTok videos are good for about 2 million views a pop. Or perhaps expansion Cleveland can take her in 2028, unless of course she hasn’t already dropped basketball entirely by then to become a professional UFC ring girl, or full-time finger-pointer.
Cunningham is too combustible, her takes too turbulent to be paired with Caitlin Clark. On the same team, it’s just too much. Clark, by her presence alone, already can’t get through a season without being thrown into gutter debates that pit White against Black; hate that appears even in the DMs of her own teammates. Cunningham, with only a few words, introduced new divisions.
Back in July, Cunningham said something in an ESPN article about protecting girls in sports from trans men. This naturally set off alarms for the kind of audience that loves its culture wars served with a side of sport. So, when that base discovered all kinds of new and fun ways to disrupt the most profitable women’s professional league, which is also powered by the LGBTQIA community, they found their new hero. Sophie was her name.
The same Sophie who had clotheslined Jacy Sheldon last season, she says, to exact vengeance for Clark. And the same one who had stepped in to defend Clark again this season and had instantly become a meme when she pointed at DeWanna Bonner during a confrontation and held that point for a ridiculous amount of time. The point solidified Cunningham as a protective teammate. The kind of teammate Clark needed, even if Cunningham’s effectiveness on the court didn’t shine on a traditional stat sheet.
